I have that "confused" feeling too after it happens. It's really scary and I don't know how to explain it to doctors. I also get headaches. I don't eat much even though I'm so hungry! I'm scared to eat. I know it's been a year since you posted, has anything helped stop them?

One thing I can tell you with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY is that you need to calm down :-) Most often this is not life-threatening. The route I went was to see my cardiologist and he has done everything form Nuclear Stress testing to Echo to determine the health of my heart (had a catheterization 12 yrs ago also when this first acted up...it has been a LONG time since having this re-occurrence ). Int he hospital I had enzymes done, x-rays, regular stress test, cholesterol. All of these indicate a very healthy heart so blockages, etc. have been ruled out. Everything points towards an electrical issue (no real surprise since I have had the A-Fib ting for so long). Anyway, I ended up going to a very well-respected electrophysiologist who re-assured me of the healthy heart and also that although this is electrical, it is NOT something that is life-threatening. In short, in his words, "it would have already killed you". He changed my meds and I am feeling much better. I still do not like that this has flared up and also the fact that when I miss a dose I definitely feel a "weirdness" or a "flip" in my chest (very slight) every so often but in the end it is really all good. After my first post just above yours, I had another incident, which occurred on a mtn bike trail again. This time my heart went into serious A-Fib. I was able to ride out of the woods about a mile and a half and by the time I got out my heart was back in sinus rhythm. Thing is that pretty much all people have little PACs and PVCs and A-Fib incidents. It is just that once you get it in a very noticeable way, yo become hypersensitive. You notice every little episode and feel every little pain and you analyze it until it drives you nuts (I can see it in your post-that's why I said to calm down). Then we get on-line and feed our anxiety. I honestly believe the worst thing you can do is search for answers online. It will scare you unnecessarily. The PACs and PVCs if infrequent (not hundreds to thousands a day) are benign unless you have heart disease in most cases. A-Fib is totally benign as well. The danger with A-Fib is that if you stay in it for a long period of time (half day-full day, etc.) you risk clotting and that can trigger a stroke. I take Aspirin every day to keep that risk low. Some people are prescribed blood-thinners, which you REALLY don;t want unless you absolutely need them. You likely have ZERO concern. I would highly suggest seeing a cardiologist to have all the tests done to assure you that you have a healthy heart . That will give you peace of mind. If you continue to have a LOT of issues with what feels like rapid heart rate or skips then see a good electrophysiologist and get treated. Truly, I have spent a lot of time talking to Drs about this and I promise you that yours does not seem dangerous. I am no doctor so don;t take my word for it. See a good one so you feel better about it. Anxiety just feeds tit. Turn off your PC now! :-) I did right after I wrote my post. I only am answering this because I got an email about a response to the thread and I want you to know how much better I feel just by not reading bs online. It's like the Geico commercial with the "French model"-lol! Not credible.

OK so I just wanted to let u people know how i fixed this damn spasm in my chest.

I had it the last 5 years at beginning once a week but later once day, but i had other health problems aswell, and what i finally discoverd was that i had Reactive hypoglycemia.......Took some trial and error till i finally found way to heal my body.

So the cure was very low Carb diet (that means eating things where carb content is lower than 30%)

and 2 weeks later no more spasms and hypoglycemia symptoms almost gone(100% recovery can take years)

I hope this info can help someone.

Sounds like we are in the same boat, TTJ. I am 45 and take 10mg escitalopram for the mind games these "flutters", "burbling" or "spasms" cause me. Seems like they go away for a few months, only to make a reappearance for a few days. I can't pinpoint it to anything I particular that I eat, but I definitely have GERD, a slight hiatal hernia and abdominal gas like crazy. Been going on for years. I decided 5 days ago to go gluten free and see if that makes a difference. I read that it does take a while for the body to adjust to it,so I will have to come back and post my findings. Keep checking back here!

I have chest spasms, like all you and alcohol makes mine go completely away. So id say its a nerve disorder or something.

Hi how are you doing just started getting these recently massive jolts in the chest, feels unnerving don't know, stress tests, echo all good but the jolts or kick in the chest never came on when I was doing these tests, only seems to come on after exercise, maybe an hour after or so and my god do they put you off, fear is an understatement! To the girl who had the year long monitor behind her breastbone could you please explain the sensations your having as if I can relate to what yours is this will put my mind at ease, for some reason it's telling me it's not the heart but 20% of me is convinced it is! Feel like I'm going to drop out of nowhere when they happen but when I'm recovered fully the next day from exercise I feel fine and relaxed!? Although that weakness people say they feel I can feel it as well, I think that's more fear though in not wanting to move as much so it will happen again! Pretty positive about the whole thing I just want to know that girls sensation!!

GERD.  Laryngopharyngeal spasms, not sure I spelled that right but this is the page that describes what I feel might be happening to me.  My voice does get hoarse, I clear my throat and belch a lot when this happens.  Hope this puts some of you at ease as it did me

I just read you post and have heard of very similar symptoms in a family member who had giardia...Maybe I'm way off course, but maybe something worth looking into if you are still having these extreme sensitivities.
