Y'know, it occurs to me that an incense stick may work just as well as a soldering iron. Cheaper and easier to get hold of. Just make sure you have somewhere to rest it and to tap the ash.

I am not positive, but I think the tip of an incense stick might be hotter and more likely to burn and scar. If you get any ash in the wound, I think that might leave a permanent discoloration of the skin. The pencil tip soldering irons aren't really too expensive.

Ohh... I thought I would share this. I usually use the acid method which works for me. I use it every 2-3 months for touch ups. However I've been using retinal on my scrotum and it seems like my skin is thickening and I have to do less touch ups. It makes sense since our mini blood blisters are superficial leakage from the little small blood vessels due to weaken of the walls and thin skin. The retinal made my skin seem thicker therefore stronger walls. I thought you guys might wanted to know this. I know it doesn't work for everyone however it works for me. =]

Seriously, this isn't rocket science just open a paperclip and hold one end with a pair of pliers and put the other end into a hot flame...get it red hot and just zap the damn red bump. I may zap the same one 1-3 quick times. No real pain, just a little sting that's it. In a few days it's gone! The bigger ones may need another zap in a few days.

I started out with a paper clip, but I found that the soldering iron was much easier.

Guys, (and gals) go for the cautery pen . This condition is mentally traumatising and not worth risking hazards and infection of using non medical equipment when I picked up my reuseable cautery pen online for £24 and one use sterilised tips for about £5 . Once you have the pen you only need to get a new tip once a month to stay on top of it. The pen is safe and easy to use, I dont think thats too much to pay for peace of mind !

...and its also battery powered so no power lead to get in your way either!

Even at that, the soldering pencil (soldering iron is not really the correct term) is around $10 US or less. I don't know why there is a need for sterilized tips, as the heat naturally sterilizes the tips. I suspect you might be in the UK, Here in the US, anything that is perceived to be "medical" is grossly overpriced. I don't know, but I strongly suspect a cautery pen here might be very $$$!

I have probably 30+ reaised dark spots on my scrotum. So glad I found this forum. Thanks so much for all the advice! I have had these for years but they seemed to have multiplied and some have gotten larger in the last few months. I purchased a cautery pen off Amazon to give it a try as others on here have suggested.
It is a bit nerving placing a red hot burning tip to your scrotum if even for less than a second. But I managed to do it. I started with the largest spot first. It did pop and instantly bled. It actually bled a lot. Took about 15 minutes to stop. Luckily I had read here that it is common for this to happen so I didn't get too concerned. Once it stopped I went to the next. That one bled too but not as long. The smaller spots are more difficult to zap but they barely bled. I only did a few day one and a few more day 2. I will tackle a few more each day for the next few days. I will say it has made a big difference and the spots have either been reduced in sized or disappeared. I'm hoping it improves even more with time. It's only been 2 days. Thank you again to everyone here. The information shared has been very helpful and also made me feel better to know I wasn't the only one suffering with this condition.

Is a cautery pen actually RED HOT (glowing)? If so, I am thinking the soldering pencil really is better, because it's not red hot. I've had wonderful results with the soldering pencil. If it were red hot, I wouldn't have the nerve to use it on my balls. Oh my!

Cautery pens come as high or low temperature models. Use a low temperature one. That is what I have and they do NOT glow red hot !

THIS REALLY WORKS!!!!!!! So I need to share it with you all so that you can be ride of these annoying blood clots called Angiokeratoma spots on your scrotum. So I first started doing a lot of research and stumbled on this forum so I thank all of you who helped me get this all under control. I have been to a few different Doctors and specialists about my Angiokeratoma on my scrotum but there was nothing no one was willing to do to help me so I decided to take matters into my own hands and do it myself. I was always told to just let them be as they are not going to cause me any harm, but we all know we can't stand the sight of them and it really messes with your self confidence. I am so glad I took the initiative and did this because now I am completely free of all of my blood blistering spots. I have had it for a few years now and it seemed to get worse all the time. I would say I had about 25 of them on one side and about 15 on the other side of my scrotum.

So this is what I ended up doing. I went with the burning method and cauterizing with a wood burning gun. This particular one had a very fine point to it was very easy to use and precise so getting it right where I needed it so convenient. It was quite nerve wracking at first since this thing was quite hot so building up the courage was challenging. So what I did was clean the area with rubbing alcohol so its nice and sterilized and proceeded to touch the blister one at a time. I would hold it on a slight angle rather than using the point directly. I would also not hold it on there for any longer then a quick second and sometimes I would hear a popping sound and see the blister disappear. On a couple big ones I had to touch it a few times to get it popped. In doing so it started to bleed so be aware that some of the bigger ones could potentially bleed. To stop the bleeding just apply nice even pressure for a bit with some rubbing alcohol and it will stop. I also would never touch each spot with the testicle under the skin. I would always pull the skin away from my testicle and touch directly onto the skin. To tell you the truth each time I would touch them with the heat gun I would only feel a bit of sharp pain and then it was gone. I had no real pain afterwards either so don't worry about there being pain there once your done. I ended up doing this in two separate sessions since I wanted to test a few first to see how my body reacted to this treatment. Since they healed nicely I proceeded to doing another session where I completed them all.

The important thing is your post care which will determine how well and fast you will heal with no scaring. This is what I ended up doing and it worked very well. I have no scaring and you cant even tell that I even had Angiokeratoma spots. When I was done cauterizing I would clean the whole area with rubbing alcohol. Be sure however after using alcohol that you wash everything with soap and water. I made the mistake of not doing this and did not shower the next day since I wanted the scrotum to heal without hitting it with hot water and I somehow really dried up the backside of my penis head and shaft since the alcohol was on there for a good day and a half. To clear that up I had to put on Coconut oil every hour or so to soften the skin. It took about 3 days to get that back to normal so be sure not to make the same mistake and clean your skin well down there after using alcohol. So once I cleaned it well I rubbed on some triple 3 antibiotics Polysporin with my finger lightly so not to re open any of the wounds. Everything will look a bit red but don't worry that will all subside over a few days. I would also put some Coconut oil on the shaft of my penis just to keep the skin and that area nice and smooth. I put the Polysporin on as often as I could since it would soak into my skin and some would get rubbed off onto my underwear. The key is to keep applying as often as possible. This will help with healing and to eliminate any scarring. I would say everything looked really good after about a week of doing this. After 2 days I showered like normal being sure the water was not to hot and hitting my scrotum to directly.

So after it all healed up nicely I am so happy with the final outcome and outstanding results from this method. I would say this is going to be the best method in dealing with this problem and I strongly encourage you to do this if your wanting a nice new scrotum and your confidence back. If any come back I know exactly what to do now so that I can keep on top of them. I would also not recommend shaving your scrotum as I really believe that shaving is the main cause to getting Angiokeratoma spots in the first place. Also applying coconut oil to your scrotum and penis on a regular basis really makes your skin so much softer and your penis a lot more youthful looking.

If you have any questions for me about my experience I would be happy to help you out so just let me know and I will do my best to give you any advice you need. I know what its like to have this condition but when its taken care of and its completely gone you really feel so much better and confident about yourself again. Its not a huge risk so you really have nothing to loose. Good luck and I really hope I was able to help someone else out there deal with this as I have.

Thanks

Did he ones that bleed disappear or did you have to redo those? I have some that seem to be on top of others and bleed as soon as I touch them.

Then the bigger ones that bleed just healed up on their own and did not have to re do them. After a few weeks there are a few really small ones that show up once in awhile so I will soon do those as well to be rid of them all.
