An answer for some of you maybe. I'm age 46. Last year after Thai food my stomach went into 4 days of spasms like you all describe. I took a video of my stomach rolling around like a 9mth baby. Off & on kicking movements came & went. Had prego tests done, blood tests, nothing. In January found out Avacado intolerant. Severe fetal position cramps etc. Knew I couldn't digest raw onions for a few years now. Also have problems digesting potatoes... Found out through research after a dentist visit I have Latex fruit crossover allergy. Since then I write down or remember what I ate that day. Yest I had scallions & I bloated up all eve & the kicking started. So people it's the foods your eating. Just because you don't get a rash or physical signs does not mean your body agrees. So do what I did... if you have ab movement that day focus on your foods & start eliminating. Working for me!!! Good Luck.

I am 46, married and have 4 children the youngest is 10. I have fallen pregnant using contraceptives before. the past 3 weeks I have been feeling movement like a baby rolling around, I have been having regular periods every 25 days. there is a lot of pressure under my sternum. my energy levels are very low and I often feel dizzy and light headed. My breasts have been tender and increased in size. I have regular bowel movements most days but from time to time I get a runny tummy or hard stools. Did home pregnancy test, it was negative, went to the MD she did blood tests, all the tests came back normal for thyroid, red blood cells, sugar levels, and negative for pregnancy, my estrogen levels were slightly below normal, so she wanted me to go onto HRT's . I told her I don't take chemicals. the MD thinks it may be IBS or per-menopausal. I still have no idea what is causing this movement

I am a 59 year old woman with a full hysterectomy and feel this sensation on the right side of my belly button. It feels like a baby kicking but 8t is impossible for me to be pregnant at my age and with a full hysterectomy. I started feeling this sensation a couple of months ago. I jokingly told my husband that we might be pregnant because that is ehat it feels like. My children are all adults now, but I have not forgotten what a baby kicking in your belly feels like! I am schedul8ng a Doctor's appt. This week to discuss this with my Doctor. I will post again when I find out what this is! I'm glad I am not going crazy and other women are experiencing the same thing!

I am having this rolling around in my intestines. I have IBS and have had it all my life. I am 60 now and this is only the second time this has happened to me. It feels like something is moving through my intestines and every so often I feel a pop and I get very gassy. I think it's just gas buildup; what causes it, I don't know but I take Ovol to break up the gas and pass it through my system

I think I have the answer to all who may be experiencing this odd movement in your abdominal area! Though, this is only for women who have had a child.
It's called : diastasis recti.
It is the separation of the abdominal muscles after carrying a child. In some woman, the muscles return to normal. In others, the muscles do not return to their normal position after birth. Leaving a separation, that reveals the movements happening in your intestines. Unlike prior, when your muscles used to cover them.
There are exercises you can try that can help strengthen your muscles and close the gap. But not all abdominal exercises are helpful in the case of "diastasis recti". They have to be inner core workouts. Sit-ups will only make the gap worse. Google this condition for more info. It is very interesting. It can also cause other issues like back pain, which may be undiagnosed by a doctor looking for a problem in the wrong area! Hope my answer helps some of you.
Oh amd there is a self test you can do to see if you do have a space between your muscles(also available online), where u lie on you back and press 2 fingers down on your bellybutton, then do a slight Sit-up. You should be able to feel your muscles tighten underneath ur fingers. If there is a gap the space of your 2 fingers, or more, you definitely have diastasis recti.

Correction to my reply above... I thought "diastasis recti" was only caused from pregnancy, but I am wrong! It can also happen in other situations such as weight gain, heavy lifting, etc. Men and women can be affected by this. Sorry for any confusion. Best of luck!

I'm 46 and I'm experiencing this...it's got me terrified at the thought of being pregnant...and I know I'm not. It's actually getting to be very annoying. I have irregular bowel movements so, could it be from that?
