I'm a labor and delivery nurse... in my work, I have seen hundreds of women's vulvas. Believe me, there are all different shapes, color tones, and sizes... MOST women DON'T look like the perfect/symmetrical diagrams and pictures that we often see and are not supposed to! We are ALL different & it's totally normal and there's absolutely no reason to be embarrassed.
:-( mines like that too, im 14 and i dnt want to have sex but, its extremely embarrassing, i too have to tuck it in when i wear swimmers, but i always wear board shorts now because im scared it will look unormal, and all the guys at my school make jokes about "flaps" is wat they call them, and they think there disgusting, so im scared to ever do anything with anyone, because of some of the names the other girls that have the same problem as me get called because they have done sexual things with guys. i love skinny jeans but there unconfortable to wear because of it, mine is purple aswell, i rlly hate it... are you sure there is no way to fix it besides surgery, because i hate having it its horrible :'( :$ ! ? ! ?

alright this made me feel so much better. i couldnt find anything about this happening to others until i came across this. do you think its bad that the streched out side it kinda purple? ive been really worried about it.

There's something about going through puberty that makes a person concerned about their genitals. Its the same for males and females. If there is something different about a person's genitalia compared with other people's, they often are made fun of or made to feel that there is something wrong with them.
Long labia is just one of those things.
All I can say is, if you are younger than about 25 and you have a problem with people's attitude to your body, don't let them affect the way you feel about yourself. Most often it is the people who are doing it to you that have something wrong with them, not you.
It's tough enough just doing regular stuff without all this hassle and cruelty. It's worse when you are becoming more mature quicker than others are. Sprouting hairs, parts are getting bigger and more wrinkly, it happens to all of us but at different times.
Just wait it out, until the little boys and girls have grown up and don't bother you any more. Be proud of who you are and what you are like. What is the truth is that it's nothing wrong with you, in fact many people who are old enough to understand and be adult find it a good thing.

ok i've read all these things on here and ya i have them to and ive even asked a doctor if there normal in person......it was weird but after i knew they were i just was like well.......and i finally had sex for the first time and the guy had had sex with so many girls i didnt think he would care but i guess one day he was saying mine were big :'( it made me sad and uncomturble and the guy im with now he makes fun of me in a joking way but its still imberrising and if i ever got to meet a girl other then me with this that would tlk to me about it that would be awsome lol.

I have the same problem and I'm only 13. I have had it all my life, and I thought it was normal. Then I showed my friends and they thought it was disgusting. They teased me and called me a man because they looked like wrinkled balls to them. I actually started crying because I thought they might be right or that I have cancer or something like that. After reading this I am so relieved, but it still makes me wonder what guys will think, is there any way to fix it? :cry: Becaused I am so embarrassed about it.
