I just want to add a few things I found helpful while I was suffering from Suboxone withdrawals. I did try to taper down the best that I could, but unfortunately still feel as though I felt the full effect of wd symptoms. I'm now officially 8 days free, and feel so much better than I have all week. DLPA did help a little, and I also took 3 tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar a day, because it also has amino acids that help remove toxins from the body. The leg pain is the only thing preventing me from getting a good night sleep at this point- but I have tried icing and using a heating pad on my sacral plexus- which has helped numb the leg RLS. Also, I had an old prescription of Gabapentin- which I took before bed to help with that. It is a medication specifically designed to block nerve pain. It won't alleviate all of your withdrawal symptoms, but it does help with some of them. I feel I am through the worst of it- and beg anyone on day 3-6 to stay strong. Those were the hardest days, but it does get better. I promise.

this is complete BS. this guy who I am replying to sounds like he never used any opiates ever.

10 years - 16mg./day .. Day 3 cold turkey. he says he never felt a thing. the half life on 16mg will be about a week, before feeling any WD's. this was in 2009. hahaha

I am not a Dr, and everyone's body is different, but I'll just recite my knowledge and experience, and hope it lends help to anyone suffering from the hell of pain pill addiction. I am a drug counselor and talk at meetings and gatherings at arenas all over the states. What I say here is just my humple opinion of the experience. The above 'StuckOnaBoat's post is about the most honest and (correct about the drug) answer I have seen yet.
You bet Suboxone is addictive. VERY addictive! After IV Rapid Detox, they exit you with a Sub RX Doctor to go see every week. They want you to take 4mg a day or even 8mg or more a day (which is lunacy) to keep you hooked to make $ off of you. Anyone can get to 2mg asap, because when they exit you, your blood is clean from the hydro or oxy that you were on. You don't need anything really, except they give it b/c going from being wasted on dope everyday, to being clean everyday, is a shock to your psyche. Addicts like narcotics. That's why they take them. They won't give you Suboxone at the detox, until you are 100% clean, or you will go into a heavy, very bad W/D.
Weaning off everything is what it is about. Most addicts can't wean off of Oxy's as effectively as they can wean from Suboxone. This boat guy weaned from 8mg to 2mg in a month. Not bad except the half life of Sub is about 12-18 hours, so everyday when you add another 2mg's you're still keeping in the almost 8mg's a day. He says " .2 in the 4th day of W/D." To get a .2 dose, one must take an 8mg strip and cut it into 8 equal pieces. Then take one of the 8 pieces and cut that into 5 equal parts. That little tiny fleck is a .2 dose. That .2 dose does the trick. After doing a .2 dose for 3 days, then cut that little fleck in half. See how that feels. . It works if you work it, and you can be Sub free or very close to it after another week or less. Some addicts can bite the bullet and wean down to 1mg, or .5 of 1mg and after a few days just stop all together with mild W/D feelings for a few days after that until the body adjusts to being 100% clean clean clean. It's not easy to stick to the weaning off regiment because as the Boat Man said, .... "And suboxone does get you high. Not the same as oxys but for me I loved it. It got me really hyped. But I hate how hard the sh*t is to get off." - He's right. SUB GETS YOU HIGH. I can't even fathom taking a whole 8mg strip. I shudder to think of the huge smack rush it feels like, with that amount.
Remember. The half life of Sub can be up to 12 or even 18 hours for some. I read so many posts of the guy who went from 4mg to 2mg or from 2mg to nothing, and that was 2 days ago, and he feels fine. I never saw that same poster post how he felt 7 days later, after going cold from 4mg to zero, or even 2mg to zero.
Just wean off correctly, little by little, bit by bit. It'll happen. I know an 8mg strip can be cut up perfectly into 32 little tiny pin heads.
Then after you are all clean, you have to go thru everyday for the rest of your life clean. It ain't easy, so instead of putting that pressure on yourself, just take it one day at a time, and maybe even say that you might even use again, but just not today. Today, I think I will live a clean day. And see what will happen while being free and clean. After awhile you'll do it by the week. Then the month. Watch the miracles happen to you........

I know how hard it is but you need to be tough for your kids. They missed school because of this? Not good. I get my medication one day, every 3 weeks. You need to find another time of day or something so your kids don't feel the effects of your issues. Sounds harsh? Im just stating the facts

that is just ludicrous that a doctor would prescribe you an opiate when you never took one before ! He should have his license taken away! suboxone is the devil and 16 mg is way to much for anyone in the first place even for an exp. opiate addict should have never got on the stuff. When your having the withdrawals try kratom its all natural and it helps alot i could have not made it without it. The insomnia is the worst part for me

Hi, can I ask which kind of kratom you used, the strength, the dose, I would truly appreciate it... hope your doing well
