Hey Jeremy. Sorry I haven't been on in a few days. So I am at...34 days( I think). I started to lose track after the 30 day mark because something awesome started happening. Because I will not be on very often in the future I will describe my sub detox experience in detail: Week 1- Not bad. Moderate symptoms Week 2 and 3- Worst symptoms I have ever had. Week 4- Everyday was a rollercoaster! Extreme ups and downs. Occasionally I would have acute symptoms often related to stress. Week 5- No symptoms. Feel "normal" except some emotional symptoms but no physical symptoms. I sleep fair...about the same as I did while taking suboxone 6-7 hours per night. So...for those that think this is a fast detox...I am reading from an accredited drug book that states the half-life is "20-72 hours" almost twice of methadone. In general it takes about 6 to 7 times the half-life for the drug to be cleared from circulation. That is a long time. My symptoms disappeared AFTER 4 weeks...and not a minute before. However, Jeremy you are only taking a small amount so I am thinking yours might be shorter, or less severe. Anyway, I made it just fine. Actually once the symptoms are gone I am wondering why I didn't do this years ago! It was one month of my life...and I am totally fine now. No more ups and downs and roller coaster emotions. It is over. So good luck to ya :) You will do great...and when it's over you will forget all about this nightmare

Guest...I am confused as to why you are experiencing symptoms after 3 or 4 months? You must have "cheated" on several occasions! Haha. There is no way you are having acute symptoms after that long it is physiologically impossible(unless you have been cheating...then it is very possible). PAWS may last longer...but it isn't severe. I am off subs for over a month now and I wake up feeling fine...don't need to take any drugs to get going anymore. I will agree that the symptoms decline only after 30 days. I am sorry you are struggling with this. Everyone else is struggling as well, but many people stop suboxone I personally know a few that went to the same doc as I did. As for the "3-4 month" thing.....if you do not cheat and take suboxone your symptoms will decline much sooner than that.

and would get scared to death. I guarantee u 4 months from now if I'm still alive I will be fully healed from suboxone and will be in 0 withdrawals. I'll even make ya a video if u would like to prove you r lieing and probably r some loser doctor that wants to keep people scared of coming off suboxone. They should delete your comment. This site is for incouragement and knowledge of better ways to get off suboxone. Not to lie and scare people. If u r depressed years later than u had aproblem before u ever got on suboxone

For the person asking if I did this plan with or without a doctor. My doctor knew nothing about it until I told them I had enough medicine to do me and I won't be back.

To be honest with you am another one who suffered horribly for FULL YEAR after quitting subutex. I do believe its true many people can suffer withdrawals for 3-6 months and PAWS can go on for years, in my case full year of criplling depression, I have to admit I went on hydros and am still there, topped with antidepressants, still dont feel right, I may go on methadone programme because this too much..I really wish I was more encouraging but am another one who suffered horrendeously from suboxone PAWS, trust me you DO NOT want to be in PAWS..I do think there can be permanent damage from staying on subutex or suboxone, or buprenorphine, whatever..I have not either met anybody who was on sub for 1 year and over to stay clean past 1 year mark.

Believe me sub is horrible and methadone was minor compared to suboxone when coming off.

1 month is actually nothing compared to what is to come..Who can live a terrible miserably life of PAWS from suboxone? it does something to the brain that makes us in PAWS for years, I too believe that, perhaps PAWS for life? who knows.

Guest, I really wish I could talk you out of methadone. Methadone may be slightly shorter(as far as the half-life goes) but everything else is pretty much the same. Anyway, I was a nurse for many years..then I got cancer and ended up in the pain pill mess, then I was referred to suboxone. You are correct in that suboxone effects the brain more than other opiates. It is not long-term, and that is something you have to understand too. There are thousands of different types of antidepressants and many of them would make the imbalance worse(antidepressants are complicated). If you want some real help, go to a psychiatrist and explain the suboxone issue(not a regular doctor). They should be able to give you the right medication, because they spent 8-12 years studying just the brain. Also, and I can't stress this enough, taking more subs, even if it is crumbs, will reset the entire process. That is why people can suffer for so long. They hit a breaking point(we are all human) and think if it is only a little bit, it won't hurt anything. But that is wrong...sub sticks to receptors like cement even just a little bit. My advice is to find an alternative, like kratom. The reason I say kratom is because it also has SSRI, or antidepressant properties and it is not an opiate. It will calm your nerves, but won't get you high. It may be addicting as well, so try to keep a few days in between uses. Anyway..good luck to you. Please message me if you need any help

I did dope for years and roxy and then i got fed up and could not quit. i did not want to get addicted to subs so i used them the right way, i got 10 of them from a friend and used them for about a month and every day i took less. It worked perfect and the withdraw was not bad when i was out of subs. The first week sucked and was annoying and thought chills would never end with sh**s and aches to boot, then the 2nd week that went away daily, the 3rd week sober i started getting alot of energy back and no withdraw and the fourth week i felt normal again. I am now 10 months clean and if i can do it any one can. good luck.

Ok I'm on day 6 rite now and it's still pretty bad but not as bad as day 3 and 4 were. Still when I sleep I sweat so bad that I wake up and can't go back to sleep. I'm lucky of I get 4 hours tops. Iv been on and off subs for 5 years. In that 5 years I joined the marine corps and had to go threw cold turkey withdrawl at boot camp. Seriously people it doesn't last longer than 10 days. It only took my 9 days till I relized I was normal again. I mean in boot camp they had us constantly doing something so my mind was not thinking about it constantly. Except when we had to stand at attention for hours on end to get our gear in the beginning. I'm on day 6 now and I feel like everyday I get 10% better. The only real symptom bothering me is the goosebumpy cold chills and night sweats. I figure by day 10 ill be straight. Hope this helps.

Another important thing. Iv been takin b12 fish oil and malatonin for sleep. This has helped. Exercise helps a lot too. Go jogging or do squates and you'll feel better for a little bit. Sitting around doing nothing makes it worst and makes time go by slow. Remember half of this is mental, the brain is a powerful thing. 10 days and its realy manageable if not feeling normal.

I've been on 8mg of Suboxone for 3 years..tried numerous times to taper&quit with medical help. Today I can say I'm 52 days sober because of a 6 week detox program...wasn't completely comfortable but much better than what I was doing before. I'm still experiencing withdrawal symptoms like body ache&depression but I am finally sleeping again (came after week 3) ...completely chemical free. I went 3 yrs of believing suboxone was the cure to addiction-kept all of my cravings at bay but I was just a walking zombie. I lost my children due to my belief in suboxone. Now that I'm free of it, I can clearly see all the incredibly bad things it did for me. I'm not a doctor but I believe from experience that keeping patients on suboxone for more than a month should be illegal.
