Rob, I am not sure if you f..ked the duck or not lol but glad to hear subs were able to help you and keep you clean from H. I personally was addicted to pain pills and got even more addicted to subs. I wanted off the subs because I was highly addicted. I wanted it out of my life, but I do understand they are helpful to you and ppl like you who were H users and that's deadly. I wish you a lot of luck and congrats for staying clean all this time!!!

I would rather detox off heroin then suboxone. The longer your on suboxone the more you will lose yourself, believe every one of us here when we tell you suboxone screws with your edoctrin system and quality of life, you will regret it., You would rather get off the heroin if you knew how bad life on suboxne and quitting suboxone is. 9 years is crazy, you just signed death warrant dude.

Melissa I totally 100% agree with your post. People that stay on subs for years on end with no intention of stopping are in for BIG trouble! The endocrine system is devastated no doubt. But the impact on the kidneys and liver may or may not be reversible. The biggest problem with that is what will happen to the person in kidney failure who needs a transplant...think about what would you say if you were on the transplant board and had to decide between the drug addict who uses suboxone to stay clean despite all the health risks, or the 12 year old with cancer who never got to live a normal life because of the disease? Which one gets the life saving organs? In some states people taking suboxone/methadone are not considered candidates for any organ transplant at all. We all get one chance to make the most of our life. I say protect the body you have! We all had times when we messed up and started using illegal/legal drugs that were harmful. It is time to take back your health and get rid of this garbage that slowly shuts down every organ system in your body..because chances are you will never be able to get a transplant! And death from kidney failure is slow torture.Don't wait until you have to have dialysis to live another day to decide to kick this garbage!

I know someone who died from liver failure due to the suboxone. Those over 21 are more at risk. Nobody has ever come off suboxone. And the most depressed addicts are those ON suboxone.

Nah. Never f-cked the duck. But let me ask you this. Why do you want off the Subs when they are preventing you from taking the pain pills? I hope you realize that I started on pain pills, which lead to the H. You may not believe it now, but the pain pills will eventually lead you to H also. If you DO stop the Subs, eventually, you are going to get cravings for the pain pills. Then you'll be at a high risk for a relapse. Then you'll go back on Suboxone....then the cycle continues. Why not just stay on the Suboxone. Take your dose or doses each day, then forget about it. I am assuming the Suboxone is keeping you away from the pain pills. If so, then you are considered a Recovering Addict.

I'm not sure if you're just being dramatic or you're just uneducated.

MANY people have successfully come off of Suboxone. I'm one of them. It takes a while but for me, life is better. It took months but I feel better than I have in more than 15 years. Good luck to you all.

Oops, me again... just making a joke - eminem song. Anyways, day 6 off suboxone CT @ 4 mg/day... and I'm able to be a jerk and joke around... People can indeed get through this! I haven't missed a day of work, albeit my manager is on percs and understands what withdrawal can be like, so for the most part if I need a break he'll work with me. But the whole point being if you can stay busy, DO. It'll help soooo much. LISTEN TO MUSIC... it's like hearing it for the first time. BTW, if anyone doubts some major problems with Opioid Replacement Therapy, just pop over to wiki and read the entire article. Sources at bottom. Opioids affect the neural reward system which is instrumental in the formation of memories and critical thinking abilities... both of which were in moderate decline while on suboxone, and rapidly returning.

I guess my whole point is life on heroin < life on suboxone < life with a functional reward system (aka abstinence)

Your life, your choice, but just remember 2-3 weeks of acute and 2-3 months of paws is worth it in my book,. God bless.

Problem is it does not take 3 or 5 months of PAWS but years and years, some cases eternity.
