Last Monday afternnon in the office I experienced a sudden feeling of being hot and had a heavy feeling in my upper arms. It lasted abut one minute or so and then went.
This morning I had the same thing at home standing in the kitchen. This time I thought about what was happening a little more and there was also a sort of hot feeling in my upper chest just below my neck. Again it laste a mimute or so. Have you any ideas what could be the cause please?

Do you have any other symptoms? Please let me know your age & gender. I would like to help. I noticed this was posted a year ago so maybe you have already discovered what is the culprit to your symptoms. Signs of heart attack or stroke are never to be taken lightly. The best way and simpliest way to help your situation is to have a blood panel done RIGHT away. Its simple and your blood tells a major story :)
Can you please write out your experience or symptoms with others to see. I also experienced mini strokes but manage it now with diet. Foods enriched in Vitamin D, Vitamin B-2, Magnesium, Flax Seed and Omegas....:)

OMG....I'm so scared, this is the second time I've experienced this heavy feeling come down upon my shoulders and specifically both arms with a feeling of heat. It really scared me because I'm scheduled to see a cardiologist on 4/27/17 and just got a call that they are no longer accepting my insurance. What is this feeling? Very scary!!!
I had the same feeling. Heaviness in my arms that came and went. Also my lymph nodes were enlarged, I had fatigue and joint pain. I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease.
I started having these same symptoms a week ago. It happened sitting on the couch in my living room watching TV. My arms felt heavy and a tightness in chest. I thought I might be having a heart attack. it lasted about 2 minutes and went away.. .This morning I was at work and was checking to see if all the employees were in place, I turned to walk out of the Quick Lane and the Manger asked me a question I started to reply and then walked away because my arms felt so heavy that I thought I may not be able to lift them and I felt like my chest tightened up. I leaned on a counter for 2 or 3 minutes and then it went away although I still felt out of sort for another 3 or 4 minutes. this is scary and no one seems to be able to tell me what is going on. I hate going to a Doctor when I feel good but ......?
I am 39 and pregnant. I have had the heaviness in my arms, happening about 3 times a day. No tightness in chest, no sharp pains. No other body parts affected. I have had bursitis in my shoulders with all three pregnancies, and I thought it had gone away, so I was sleeping on my side with my arm up above my head. (This kills me when I have bursitis, so I don't do it when I'm having those sharp pains.) I quit sleeping with my arms up three days ago, and the heaviness has gone away. I think it may be an unusual symptom of bursitis, so get checked for that if you just have the arm heaviness.
Did you ever find out what it was? I have the same symptoms.
this is a bunch of people talking about the same symptoms does any doctor anywhere know what is going on
Because of sweating, go to a cardiologist soon. Also make an appointment with a mental health care specialist. You need both. Hope you are doing better soon
I'm a 58 year old woman with same symptoms just now. It happened twice within 30 minutes. I have a history of cervical neck disc disease. I had high triglycerides for a couple years, but my numbers are good now. I just became IDDM two years ago. I have asthma also. I have so many things wrong with me, that any one of them could cause the symptoms. I also have arthritis in several areas. I could be my heart, but I've had lots of tests done during my hospitalization about a year and a half ago, I'm blaming my neck.
I've been having the same, I'm thinking pinched neck or nervous system issue, neck problems and bulging discs in my neck for many years. Seeing doc on. Monday
Did you find out what it was? I've had this happen to me about 3 or 4 times now within the last few months.
I have the same thing. It started about a year after I took a job that mainly keeps me sitting. It felt like my arms weighed a ton and lasted for about a minute and disappeared. It appeared related to my chair/ desk position. I have found if I exercise often and can get up from my desk off and on all day it stays away.
I just had a spell just as you described. I started feeling heavy in my arms and shoulders, my hands started shaking, I had no control of them and I could not lift them up. It was like both my arms fell asleep. This is the second or third episode in the past couple of months. To Guest: what did you find out?
