I have even had all my hormones checked. I dont have a clue as to what it is. Ive been checked for everything it seems like. Have you had your potassium checked? Do you drink alot of water?
I know i really never has this problem(except when young and drank alot) until my mom died 5 yrs ago. I dont know what Im doing differently now that would cause this. I am swollen right now everywhere. I have been diagnosed with fibromalgia it could be from that.

I have swelling issues as well. Stomach, hands especially (I wear a ring and that's when I can tell I'm swelling cuz my ring is tight) and my feet, knees, and ankles swell.

Recently my Nana was in the hospital...she was very weak and they couldn't find out what was wrong with her for the longest time...so many tests were done for almost a month until they found out that she had "congestive heart failure" and this condition was causing her to swell a ridiculous amount. The skin on her feet and hands were breaking because she was swelling so much. she had to limit her water intake to very minimal amount and they determined she was prone to water retention. They put her on a few pills (diauretics I think among others?) and she lost 25 pounds in water weight alone! The doctor's determined she had been retaining water for over 20 years. Now she looks so skinny and frail it's quite insane. It makes me wonder if all our problems have something to do with that? Not to say we are all suffering from congestive heartfailure...but perhaps we are all retaining water in a wierd fashion and that's what's causing this bloating??

Hope this post can help...

I also have whole body swelling. After doing some research online, I think it may be GLUTEN!

Google "whole body swelling gluten" and see what comes up. Lots of talk about it. Seems that when people stop the Gluten, the swelling stops.

Some think that they can't be Gluten intolerant because they have no GI or stomach issues. Not true. My huband is gluten intolerant. He has NO stomach issues at all, but he has dermatitis hepitiformis. He gets these horribly painful sores on his knees, elbows, forehead. He was misdiagnosed by a dermatologist and 2 allergists. No one knew what it was. He was in such pain.

I finally found photos of his sores. He took them to his doc and told him he wanted his sores tested. It was gluten. As long as he stays away from gluten, he is fine. As soon as he accidentally eats gluten, he gets his sores back.

We feel for all of tose that are also misdiagnosed. Gluten effects everyone diffferently. Try going off gluten for 3 weeks and see if you see a difference. I bet you will!

I have this problem also. Mine is related to High Blood Pressure. I was put on Lisinopril, Amlodepine, and Metoprolol. However I've been out of the first two for a while, and only have the Metoprolol left. I started substituting 1 200mg aspiring for the other two and the Metroprolol whenever I start swelling and it seems to be keeping the swelling, and subsequent pain down.

Can i suggest all you drink nettle tea, dandilion tea and green tea, put the 3 tea bsgs in one cup. My mum had liver cancer and got severe swelling, in the early months her swelling would come down with dandilion tea and nettle tea. But then she was unable to respond as the, liver cancer became worse. Trust me, my sister had baaaad sweeling so i suggested she have it and it worked. It makes you wee. Plus dandlion is blood detoxifier. All of the Teas i mentioned are diuretics so they'll, make you wee and reduce the swellimg. Please let me know if it helps you.

I woke up super early because I was extremely uncomfortable... and looked In the mirror when I went to the bathroom- my entire face, neck, stomach, hands-everything Is so swollen! I am very healthy, athletic, and thin, or so I thought, right now I look like a hindenburg blimp ready for lift off. I'm really stiff, cant sleep, It's not sodium, I am very well aware of my dietary habits etc. and drink my fluids, but I am terrified right now. Also, I'm feeling light headed and If I reach down to the ground, which I did to try and stretch out... like every morning- my right ear starts almost pulsing? I basically hear my heartbeat pulse in my ear for a few seconds, I'm not stressing myself out about this, I'm a really "strong minded" girl here, but If I can get any input from someone who may know whats going on, would be really great! I just hope I don't have some crazy thing wrong- or organs are shutting down, It's pretty bad. o.O

Usually swelling can arise from kidney problems, liver problems and most commonly, heart problems, especially, heart failure. However, simple things eating too much salt can cause swelling, as salt retains water. High in starch diet, can do the same. Not drinking enough water can cause swelling.

Though swelling is something you should have checked out by a doc. It could be serious, it could be just something that needs fixing via the diet.

But please do try the suggestions in my previous post, and to anyone else.

Hi, something you need to check out, if you have a lot of swelling, and you feel tired, you've put on weight, get your thyroid checked out.

In the meantime, if you try dandelion tea, nettle tea and green tea, it will get rid of your swelling. Reduce the salt you eat, everyone knows that causes swelling. Also, the more water you drink, the lesser your swelling will become. I know that sounds silly, but you'll urinate more, and get rid of more of the toxins.

I am having the same issues as many of you.  I have had my heart and kidneys tested, I have had MRIs, CT scans, blood work and nothing is working.  I am on prescription water pills and potassium and those don't work either.  I have at least forty pounds of water weight on and I feel terrible most of the time.  My hands, feet, ankles, face, arms, legs all swell to the point that I feel that I am going to burst....any one find any answers, please let me know
