swollen lip from pimple

okay, but this might sound kinda dumb. I have the same thing and I put hand sanitizer on it. It burns, but it makes the swelling go WAY down. I think as long as you keep bacteria out of it, keep it clean and dont touch it, the swelling should possibly go down by the end of the day.

This is pretty interesting, so many people have same or similar issues, but with not a single confirmed result/reason.
I had a little bump on my lip and then one morning I woke up and my lip was swollen, not too much but enough to notice it, by next day's evening I noticed a whitehead appear and it got larger and larger until finally popped by its own, now there is a little red dot and my lip is still swollen. Not as much as before, but swollen and now it hurts because of that little tear in the skip when zit popped. I just want to take few shots of vodka and punch the damn thing so it disappears, it bothers me so much.
 It is worse during morning and seem to get better by night, next morning we start all over again. I put some hot compress, and today I will start putting some cream and cold compress, combined with advil or motrin and see what happens tomorrow..

i just spoke to my mother about this swollen lip she's a certified nursing assistant and she diagnosed it as a fever blister (swelling and no pus, little bump like a pimple) it's nothing to worry about and the swelling and symptoms should be gone in a few days but she also said if it's an open sore you should see a doctor and this should still be treated with extreme care just incase.

you have 2 options.

pop it, make sure your hands are clean. and squeeze until the small seed is out. kind of like a black head but white. reduce swelling with asprin + water and rub it on. put neosporin on it so it wont scar.

or 

dry it out and whatever you do DONT MESS WITH IT

I have to come back and update my status. I went to dr and got antibiotic cream which I applied only after the pimple started leaking a little, and then it got worse but then it got better. Basically you needed to get the pus out, I just touched it when it was huge and then it started leaking out, over time it would flatten and then swell again, about a week to ten days later I could only see a scar and then it finally went away. I have to point out though mine was not on the lip but right on top of lip where I have some mustache, only the tiny follicle, my guess it either I got bitten or just very clogged pore got messed up. Either way, DO NOT POP IT. And if you do, rush to dr for some antibiotic cream.

You all probably have a boil(an abscess) The more you mess with a boil, the bigger it gets. If you wait to long before going to the doctors, it will get big and hard(giggity) at which point they will have to lance it (cut open) and drain it. They start out looking like pimples. Which we naturally try to pop. After all that squeezing and poking and prodding you have now spread the bacteria which causes the pimple to grow. The bigger it gets, the more freaked out one gets and the more you mess with it which in turn makes it bigger. The best thing you can do is apply hot compresses as often as possible and leave it alone. Keep the area clean. DO NOT try to pop it. That only makes things worse. Once the hole starts to leak on its own you can then begin to help it drain. It will start with a hard white goop. Then turn into a blood and puss mixture. Then a dark blood will start to come out. Then regular blood. once the regular blood start to comes out it should be almost done. Just make sure to keep it clean. *WARNING* if it starts to become crazy big, go to the Doctors asap. It will only continue to get bigger. Look it up online. Huge boils. Popping cyst. They are one in the same. They aren't a joke. 

I woke up one morning and felt what seemed to be a small ingrown pimple just above my top lip. I left it alone for an hour or two then decided to pop it.. and i did! but the hard lumpy thing that i thought was an ingrown pimple was still there so i just left it. the next morning i woke up and my lip was swollen, it looked like i had been punched. I had like only just gotten rid of a staph infection on my chin and was worried i got another one! but it didn't feel the same, So i left it and went to school. I then went to my friends house and the lump had gotten bigger and lip was more swollen by the end of the day! Its was red and sore too! it was really hurting and the pimple on top of it, i could see was pop-able cause it had like a whitish creamy colour head to it, so i popped it. I then put ice on it and it didn't really help! Then next morning it was just as sore so i put more ice on it and then some anti-bacterial cream! i then went to the beach and when i got out the swelling had gone down by like half! Im now home from the beach and my friends and my mum suspects it to be a coldsore but its not blistery and dosnt look anything like one..? shes given me some pills the ment to help coldcores and i have currently got some coldsore cream on it!!! I was on anti biotics for my staph infection and so i dont beleive it to be that... so im thinking its just a really infected pimple or zit but im not sure! HELLLPPP MEEE PLEASEE!!!!!!!!

The worst thing you can do in this situation is try to pop it. Leave it alone. When you try to pop these, the infection spreads causing it to get bigger. These will go away on their own. Starts out as a pimple. Then it will get bigger. Then the head will open and you will see white puss inside only it is not liquid, it's more of a hard paste. This is when people freak out and try to squeeze it out. You can squeeze all you want, the only thing you are going to accomplish is making this grow and cause yourself a lot of pain. Then after a few days it will start to ooze. This is a good thing. Just keep it clean. Once it starts to flow out on its own you can light assist it with pressure. Greenish white puss will come out first, along with some other fluid and blood. Then a mixture of puss and blood. Then dark dark blood. Then regular colored blood. Sometimes at the end there is a hard ball of puss attached to the inside, remove this with tweezers. Once all of that is done, disinfect it and apply a band-aid. If you are worried, go to the doctor. They will tell you that you have a boil and give you antibiotics. If you mess with it and it gets worse they may choose to lance it. Look Lancing cyst or Lancing boil up on youtube. 

I have that same thing I think i might have to go to the Doctor because I think it is starting to spread

lol craaaaaap, yesterday i was sitting in class on the last lesson and felt my lip hurting a bit and when licking it, felt the tiny bit of it being swollen. Now it is 6 am and i have to go to school today and my lip looks so ugly and big and swollen, im not sure if its because of a zit or something, but my top right part of the cupid's bow hurts, while all u guys say ur lips are numb.

I have this huge swelling because of a tiny pimple below my lip.

I'm on antibiotics now..hoping that will kill the damn bacteria..

I'm having a similar problem and freaking out. 2 days ago what seemed to be a minor pimple appeared on my lip. Throughout the day it got worse but when I tried to pop it all I got was some fluid and blood and it was very sensitive. I put some acne cream on it and went to sleep. The next morning it was bigger and white. So I popped it, although this hurt very bad, and like a normal pimple the puss came out followed by blood. However it has not gone down in size and remains red and puffy. It doesn't hurt, only a slight tingle. I don't know if it is just a pimple of something worse? And help?

cystic acne or perioral dermitits. Go to the doctors, they can give you an antibiotic. dont pick, lick, or put anything on it. It will dry out on its own and go away in a few days.
