My son is only 7 but has had enlarged lymph nodes (armpit and groin) for couple of months now. Blood tests all normal but he feels sick constantly. He gets no pain from the lumps but it is so worrying. I was told to return to GP if symptoms still present at the end of Feb!
i too have swollen lymph nodes in my arm pits, neck and groin area's and have been there for about a year now. I've been to doctor's and they said it was Toxoplasmosis. After 6 weeks they were still the same, so i went back to the doctor and they ran more tests but couldn't work out the problem, they said they should have gone down by now. ?? i was wondering if this problem that some of us have is to do with having the appendix removed. i had mine removed when i was 4yo just before it burst, did any one else have there appendix removed and also have swollen lymph nodes? just curious
i have the exact same symptoms i had a swolen gland in my neck for a year now it started with an unknown illnes and anti biotics didnt work i was told that im stuck with it. just before christmas i started getting chest pains and was told i have a chest infection. i didnt listen and went to another doctor who told me the pain was in my breast and has set up an appointment for a screening (im only 20) hawever a week later the pain got worse and spreadt to my underarm and made my arm a bit numb so went to yet another doctor who said it was unlikely to be my breast as it was affecting my arm but would hurry up my appointment. since then however i have noticed that 2 gland either side of my groin and one on my collar bone have swollen up. they all seem to be swolen only on my right side. none are pain ful apart from my breast. im pretty sure it is still the gland tho.
the doctors keep telling me it will go away. yet it doesnt and my blood tests usualy (not always) show a slightly elevate white count. i have no fever or anything so i know its nt an infection. i am worried about cancer but i dont have any of the symptoms
if any1 knows what it is PLEASE tell me

Has anyone ever tried to do a full body detox to help with this? I recently have been having the same issue. The nodes under my arm were so swollen I couldn't put my arms down. 3 days ago I started drinking Calcium Bentonite Clay "Living Clay". After just 3 days, I feel about the same but am sweating so much and the swelling has gone down. I think those little nodes were full of toxins! We are all around them everyday. Breathing, Eating ect. It only makes since TO ME they probably slow down after many years of unintended abuse.
I am going to stick with it and see if it works! If it does, it's a cheap solution! You can also use it for TUNS of other things.

It's probably your immune system and lymphatic system struggling in most cases. People with ME/CFS/Fibro get these symptoms a lot because their bodies don't circulate and drain toxins very well. So don't panic, it most probably isn't serious (and doesn't mean you have any of those) and just a toxicity buildup problem, but do go and see your doctor because although there's a lot of serious things there's a tiny chance it could be, the likelihood is to the contrary. You could well simply be run down and not on top form!
Natural thing to try might be very light massage (manual lymphatic drainage is excellent, if you can find a good specialist), increased water intake every day, more raw fruit and veg to give your system a break and give it the best wholesome food, less processed food, plenty of sleep, plenty of light exercise, even saunas may help in some cases. Just suggestions, but i'd go for very light and natural ways of detoxing, definitely nothing that will stress your system more.
To the person taking bentonite clay, be careful. There's only anecdotal evidence that stuff works pulling out toxins that are allegedly lodged in the intestinal area. Doctors would not advise it. If you are determined regardless and don't take the right herbs/lax's to keep your bowels in montion, you run the risk of a blockage and more problems. The cleanses that include bentonite clay are generally quite exact (+needlessly expensive considering the cheapness of the ingredients) in what you take and when, and you usually virtually fast throughout. So again, not recommended allopathically. You may already know this, so excuse me if you do but i've spoken to a fair few people who didn't realise this and you never know.
I'm not a medic, or a naturopath, so feel free to disregard my opinion. I've followed natural therapies and such for a decade though, so sometimes I might say something useful. Just venturing a suggestion because it's a problem I have sometimes too and bringing up some harmless things to try if your doctors remain mystified that help me!

hi just wondering if anyone has got any results back from the doc or an ENT specialist. I have 2 lumps on my neck and no other symptoms. My blood test results are norm but would like to know how anyone else went. I'm still waiting for my appoint to see a specialist.
hi there,
i am having the same problem since a month ago. now having 2 lumps on my neck (quite close to each other) and the doc told me that i m having another one on my armpi when i went for check up earlier today. the doc ran a blood test and i m gonna have to see him for the results tomorrow. what worries me is that he already referred me to a specialist when the blood test result has not even come out yet.
what's the likely cause of these lumps? i m worried sick about this. 4 months ago i had to be admitted for colonoscopy but it turned out its just another infection and my body just over reacted to that. btw, my two doc friends told me that the lymph nodes could be cancer symptoms and i am so worried right now. i m only 24, i dont have night sweat, dont lose my appetite, still maintain my weight, dont have any fever, just recently recovered from cough, never cough blood and etc. what are the symptoms that i need to look for to be sure that this is just another normal infection and not something big to worry about? but i do smoke and drink. can that be the problem. i'm so distraught right now.

just went to see the specialist today. the blood test turns out to be quite normal. white cells normal. no std, no hiv but lymphocytes count is too high and neutrophils count is too low. doctor ruled out blood cancer, or even tuberculosis. he thought its just a normal infection (he knows full well how i am so susceptible to viral infection as he has treated me before) but ordered me to go for a CT scan next week. i dont feel sick so i do not think there's anything to worry about. anyone else got their test results yet?
Hi all,
I've also had this problem for nearly 6 months now. Enlarged lymphs in groin, right armpit and now little beans in both sides of my neck. This all happened after I had tonsillitis in November along with the flu. I've had reoccurring throat aches since but don't know if that could be the cause of all this. I had a bad skin infection and when I went to the dermatologist in April and told him about my enlarged nodes in my armpit and groin and they did did a punch biopsy on my armpit and the tests came back normal and was just inverse rosea and no malignancy was found. Thing is the enlarged nodes have never decreased but they never increased either, just stayed the same. Now I'm constantly freaking out thinking I have lymphoma but these are the only symptoms I have as in enlarged nodes and nothing else. Btw, I'm 23 years old.
Anyone get their results back?

Wow I can't believe I am reading all of this. I too have the same exact symptoms as everyone else and I am a 22 year old female. I noticed a large, swollen gland in my neck a month ago after I had a suspected ear and throat infection. The gland continued to remain swollen and at times causes alot of pain and discomfort. I found another swollen gland in the back of my neck and decided to make an appointment with the doctor.
I went to the doctor today and he noticed a swollen gland under my armpit and one on my groin. He ordered bloodwork and I have a chest xray and ultrasound next week. I'm so nervous and I have no idea what is going on. I'm generally a healthy girl and I do not have any symptoms of fever, night sweats, chills, etc. I will post my results as soon as I get them.

Hi, I can't believe what I am reading, its like someone else knows exactly what is going on with me. I too have the same symptoms. The lymph nodes in the front of my neck have been swollen for 4 months, I have had swollen lymph nodes in my left arm pit for years, have had 2 mamograms due to a lump in my breast that they say is overlapping breast tissue, however, I have to go back in another year for the 3rd one, My doctor decided to have an ultrasound on my neck lymph nodes, the lymph nodes looked good, but they found a nodule and a small cyst on my thyroid, they want me to come back in 6 months to have it repeated to see if it has grown. Apparently it isn't calcified and is only 4x5x7 in size. I have had hair thining for atleast 8 months, dry and brittle, no un explained weight loss, and have been tired, however, my throid studies come back "normal". Now I have lymph nodes in my right arm pit 3 of them and just felt the pain of the lymph nodes on both sides in my groin area. Do I freak out? At what point do you ask them to just biopsy them to make you feel better. They keep asking if anyone in my family has had cancer, does it really matter, it does have to start somewhere? I have been getting rocephin 2 grams IM everday for 3 days, metedoserol pack, and doxycycline 100mg po bid. I guess if they lymph nodes aren't better after that I will demand to have a CBC drawn to see what other markers may be inflammed? any thoughts or suggesstions, anyone with the same experience?
Hi, my friend had the exact same signs, the ENT did an ultrasound on her thyroid, they found 5 nodules, told her there was no way it was cancer but went ahead and had a biopsy, the radiologist almost talked her off of the table because he said no possible way it was cancer, usually there would be just one of them, she told him to do it anyways since she was already there. Two days later they called her and she had cancer, all of the test for thyroid, came back normal. At the same time her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, so it doesn't matter if you don't have a family history, it has to start somewhere. You just need to be your own advocate, have them do an ultrasound, biobsy then a CBC.
i just had my CT Scan last week and the results were not very encouraging. upon closer examination the doctor found other smaller lymph nodes under my arm pits (on both sides), albeit they are smaller than those on my neck. my TB test came out negative. my STD test came out negative too. i went to see another specialist to arrange for biopsy tomorrow morning. i dont know how to react when they doc DID NOT rule out the possibility of me having lymphoma (some kind of cancer). well. i hope everything will go well tomorrow and i still pray (though my hope is slowly fading away) that it is not cancer, but just due to some minor infection. will update when i get my biopsy results. :-(
btw i m just curious, if the blood test result came out negative for STD, that also means i am HIV negative, yes? anyone, please clarify. Thank you.

Marie7688,
have u got ur ultrasound results yet? what did the doctor say. i am so anxious about the biopsy tomorrow morning. apparently the doc said the procedure will leave a permanent scar (a tiny line) on my neck. and there are other risks too; nerve problem, excessive bleeding and etc.
i am only 24 and i am generally a healthy person. i do not have night sweat, fever, coughing or anything such. btw to those who are about my age, does your parents know about your medical condition? i am in dilemma right now, not sure whether i should tell them about my present medical condition.

worriedguy,
I have not had my ultrasound or CT Scan yet, they are both scheduled for July 7th. I have been feeling quite fatigued though and my glands have gotten a bit more painful than they were before. I am getting more worried as the days go by. My TB test was negative and I am hoping the results of my blood work come back today. I am sorry that they found more swollen glands. Hopefully this is all just some sort of infection and nothing serious. I keep trying to stay positive but it is hard when you don't have any answers.
Please post how your biopsy goes tomorrow. And I am around your age and my father actually came with me to the doctor. I felt like this is more serious than just a minor infection so I had to tell them.
