Hello.
I have been reading this and want to share my story. I'm 16 now and maybe about 3 or 4ish years ago I discovered a small lump only right armpit. it wasn't big and I disregarded it. I tried shaving one time to see if that would work but it didn't. I told my mom and I think she tried popping it. I don't remeber if she actually popped it. Since then they would stay for a few weeks and then go. They never really hurt. I only felt a little discomfort when I poked it but other than that it was like it was never there. I never went to the doctor. At 14 I moved to a new state and the lump had been gone for maybe 6-9 months. I had noticed it again later on. It stayed for a few weeks and then it went away. About a year ago I noticed it in my groin area on the right side. Also the lump on my armpit switched arms and is now on my left armpit. The lumps on my groin area switch sides every now and then. And the lumps stay in the general vicinity. They stayed for a few weeks and disappear completely for maybe months and then they come back. I went to the doctor in maybe the first week of November but when I went the lumps were gone. I told her about were i had them and she said no told me worry about them and that it's normal. Maybe during the second or third week of November they came back. On the right side of my groin and on my left armpit. I currently had them now and I am going to the doctor this week. I have been doing some research and I'm afraid that I may have cancer, lymphoma possibly. I really hope not but I have had these lumps for years and I'm afraid that I may be in satge three of lymphoma without even knowing it. I'm very scared of this and of dying but i think I have it. The survival rate isn't high. Just five years. I have no other symptoms of lymphoma. Just the lumps that are about smaller than 1/2 an inch. I'm really scared of having cancer and I don't want to die. I'm really scared. Can someone give me some insight, experience or advice?

Wow, I'm glad I found this thread, I'm having similar symptoms to most of you. I have some hard round lymph nodes in my groin, various painful glands in my neck and aching pains that feel like they're coming from my groin, (not specifically from the glands), my armpits, my neck and my stomach.

My white BC was slightly high when I had a blood test two weeks ago. I'm hoping to have a biopsy soon of the largest node in my groin, very worried about that.

janeandgeorgia, I am having so many of the symptoms that you've mentioned, including the weird numb and itchy sensations over both my hip bones! I'm also having similar problems over my shoulder bones, so don't know what is going on there. I would love to know if you've got anywhere with all this, as I feel as if all sorts of freaky things are happening to me. I find it strange that this is happening to the two of you, and would love to know why. Could it be from some product that you both use?

I'm really keen to find out anything more that people learn. I'm so worried about cancer or leukemia, I always tend to think the worst, but have been feeling so terrible recently and just well, not normal.

Like the rest of you, I have had the mystery swollen lymph node problem and have spent weeks researching online. I'm 24 and female and have always been in good health.. this all started with a swollen node in my neck and a sort of "phantom choking" feeling in my throat. I gradually started to feel worse and in my uninsured state I went to a free clinic for some answers. The doctor looked me over and decided I had a sinus infection even though I did not have a sore throat, runny nose, or any other typical symptoms. She prescribed me amoxicillin and sent me on my way.

The antibiotics seemed to help at first, then out of nowhere, a few more lymph nodes swelled up in my groin area - next to my left hip bone. I called her back and said that this didn't feel right, she told me to take ibuprofen and "monitor the swelling". I felt like she completely gave me the brush off and did not understand how this was effecting me. But being a mere week and a half away from having health insurance again, I conceded that it could wait.

Cut to now... the node in my neck is still swollen, seems to be going down a little but the muscles in my neck feel really tense so I'm not sure exactly the state of that node. I also have one above my left collarbone, one in my left armpit, and multiple nodes that span across my lower abdomen/groin area. It's really starting to freak me out. Aside from the swelling, I've had some nausea (which only resulted in vomiting once) and some fatigue... which I can't be sure isn't just stress/medical obsession related. I went to the hospital and all he could tell me was it could be anything from mono to cancer and that he'd run blood tests - it's been 3 days and the wait is killing me. I went to my gyno and she checked me out, everything was normal down there - she told me it could be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Lyme Disease, one of which you cannot test for, the other the doctor at the hospital did not test me for. JOY.

I just feel so absolutely helpless and completely terrified. All this internet research of my symtoms has turned me into a hypochondriac.. I cannot NOT obsess about something that I feel is "abnormal" or "wrong" with me. I now have grown accustomed to jumping to the worst case senario right off the bat.. and I just cannot live like this anymore.

Results: Everything came back negative and normal (except some high cholesterol levels) ... but my lymph nodes are still swollen and I still feel sick and tired most of the time. This doctor and the clinic were completely unprofessional and made me feel like I was just a dollar sign... instead of ordering more tests he gave me the Hepatitis B vaccine and a prescription for Prilosec for possible gastroesophageal reflux disease which I do not feel is my ailment at all. I know we are supposed to trust our doctors because the "know" more than us.. but when the first things out of his mouth was comments on my extensive tattoos and piercings and how I could potentially have Hep C, even though I explained all my body mods were at least 3 years old, I knew this guy wasn't listening to a damn thing I was saying.

So now I'm going to go find a new doctor who will hopefully exude some kind of confidence in the fact that I know there is something not right with my body and be there to help me figure it out. Cross your fingers for me.

Anyone else have any updates, thoughts, or suggestions?

I still have swollen lymph nodes, pain in all my lymph area, itchy rashes and itchy feeling over hip and shoulder bones, as well as the feeling that something is swelling under all of these joints, plus various other strange symptoms.

Been to my GPs several times, and finally went to see a general surgeon yesterday. He doesn't feel as if my lymph nodes are particularly big (despite them being hard and fixed, which I thought were danger signs), but he said he would give me a CT scan, then a biopsy if necessary. Does this seem like the right thing to do? I'm not sure how long I'll have to wait for this.

Also had blood test for caeliac disease and vit D deficiency, as one GP feels this could be what's wrong. I'm waiting for the results, and hoping that's the case, as I can't help worrying that this is continuing for so long. All my other blood test results are now fine.

I'm also wondering how other people are doing. Finding out what is wrong seems to be a long, painful road.

I'm a 26 year old female and have been plagued by extreme fatigue since mid 2009. I noticed a lump in my neck over 8 months ago. Rubbery, movable, and painless. I forgot about it due to the overwhelming stress of losing my father to multiple myeloma last year. I've done extensive research online about swollen lymph nodes and their causes. My family is no stranger to cancer, and other symptoms quickly likened themselves to what I've been dealing with for quite sometime.          I've lost 20 pounds in four months without really trying, night sweats annoyed me in Dec through Feb, but stopped, I'll pop a low grade fever for no reason, and the fatigue, the dreaded, all consuming fatigue. I feel like I'm 66, not 26. My drs just tell me it's my depression, my hypothyroidism, my sleeping habits, but when months and years of medications don't help, then what? I finally went to my dr today. She got me in immediately, my general practitioner, an endocrinologist and internist. She immediately noticed my nape dermal anchors, piercings on the back of my neck that I got last April that have been healed for months. She suspects a swollen node from these piercings, even though they were pierced over a year ago, and fully healed with no problems. She explained the swollen node is probably what's keeping my piercings from becoming outwardly infected in the first place, but instead of brushing me off, she ordered full blood tests and CT scan with contrast. She told me if anything is questionable, she will have the node completely removed and biopsied. If your dr does not give you the attention or concern you deserve, please go to someone else. If having a CT scan will make you more comfortable with living with enlarged lymph nodes, speak up, or find a second opinion. You are your best advocate, and living with worry will diminish your immune system further. My tests are scheduled for this week, and I've probably made a mountain out of a molehill, but better safe than sorry, right?

I have the same problem my lymph node came up behind my ear at first it was hard my head hurt on that side. I had it bioped no cancer, the nerves in my head would swell pressing against other things that had fluid build up. I had one come up under my arm pit that hurt from my nipple all around the side up to under the arm pit hurt to move my arm or anything. Not sure what caused that but I feel fine just tired alot. Everything seems to be on the side where I had a root canal and the dentist messed it up and did not repair my tooth so theres still some nerves and no tooth, he refuses to fix it so im stuck with right side jaw, arm pit eye and headache pain. Its conected to that tooth someway or another is what I think didn have any problems till mr fancey pants screwed up my tooth!

I'm going to get checked out on that chemical and hormonal problem. I'm curious to see if that could be the cause.

I'm a 23 year old female, and, not to sound redundant, I have the same problems as everyone above. Six swollen glands in neck, one in armpit. Difficult swallowing. Rib pain. Rashes on my elbows and feet (that don't really itch). I have no idea what it could be, but since a lot of others have my problem, I'm more and more convinced that I have an undiscovered disease. lol

I went to an Allergist/Environmental Health doctor yesterday. You all had me looking into multiple chemical sensivity and/or hormonal imbalance. He is the kind of doctor who looks at all of those things. And before he ever did testing, he thinks I have a Candida allergy. You should all look into it too because my symptoms mimic yours perfectly. I'm going to get tested for it very soon, and I suggest you do too!
