Two years ago my fiancé had suffered with this terribly with this- and after searching the internet I found a woman wrote in saying she related her sons to Ibuprofen- so after suffering for months he stopped his daily routine of Ibuprofen and it went away, luckily it has not returned until he a few months ago tried the Ibuprofen and it began but stopped when he discontinued it! Recently I was taking Ibuprofen (I was always able to take it in the past) but now very tiny pore blisters you can hardly see but itch like poison ivy and the throbbing & burning -then they peel. SO ANNOYING . I am trying pure cocoanut oil high pure grade from a health store someone suggested. I have not been taking any Ibuprofen or any pain relievers for weeks but it won't go away! We must all have something in common- I take B-complex and multi vitamins D3 have no idea now. Thanks for writing in I will try some of these suggestions- but maybe for some of you the Ibuprofen will work. Good luck happy holidays!

are you wearing elastics with your braces??? could be allergic to that- ughh I get this too -can't really pinpoint what the allergy is- but it is annoying the throbbing & itching and little microscopic blisters at the edge of the mouth- then they dry and peel the cycle continues until you have been out of contact with uyour allergy- I get this with latex-so I wonder if your dentist is using latex gloves or the elastics???
Finding the allergy is the tough part!
Good LUCK!

Actually along the lip line is where the problem occurs.
seems to be extremly difficult to get rid of because the more you do the worse it gets
For my fiance stopping Ibuprophen got rid of it for him. he had it four years ago- I never caught it - so I do NOT believe it to be contagious. I just started to get it weird.

I have the itching and burning around the lips. I just recently discovered it could be excess histamine in my system, which is triggered by allergies and also exists in fermented foods like yogurt, cheeses, and alcohol (and many others). The natural body chemical that normally keeps histamine in balance is produced at lower levels during lower female hormone production. I've been off yogurt for a few days and I'm considerably better.

Hi, have you all tried TCM (traditional chinese medicine). I also have this problem and visited doctors and tried various creams. Western medicine usually help alleviate the symptoms. However TCM can try to heal the underlying cause which could be due to a weakened spleen. Lifestyles habits also do affect it, such as late sleeping, hetic work pace, spicy and fried food. Hope this helps.

Hello, can I ask what your stomach issues were? I feel like I might be experiencing the same issues with my stomach and lips.

Hi- I know I am seeing this a year late, but I have had the EXACT same experience. I was diagnosed with eczema as a child and believe I am developing food allergies in my 20s. My biggest issue is the side of my lip breaks out horrifically in the sun. I can't go in direct sunlight for 20 min without an almost instantaneous breakout. .... I'm wondering where you are now with all of this and if you have discovered any treatments?

Same issue and I have braces as well...I ate yogurt and the problem was alleviated. I put Yoplait greek yogurt as a mask on my face /lips and it really helped. Read it may be a yeast infection on the lips or perhaps I have an allergy to the nickel in my braces...what ever the issue it is aggravating and I'm glad the yogurt is helping.

to everyone experiencing this - i too have dealt with it for the past few years off and on. i think a preservative of sorts, dairy and sun all effect my lips, hands, it can spread everywhere. the only thing i’ve found that works is Braggs ACV. burns like a MF but relieve a few minutes after. as soon as i feel symptoms coming on i use a cloth or paper towel to pat my lips with the apple cider vinegar. if it burns you know its working. all of these issues start in the gut... so i take shots of ACV also. i use a tiny bit of aquapor to moisturize after because ive realized you want the papsules and bumps to dry out in order for them to go away. hope this helps.
