im dealing with the same problem rite now.the back side of my throat where my tonssils are have alot of pain.it hurts when i swallow and burns when i eat or drink anything.At first i thawt it was me jus catching a cold, but it seems nothing hurts but the back right side of my tonssils.i looked in a mirror at my mouth and noticed my uvulva was swollen on the right also.i dont think its strep throat because i look at images of strep throat and none related to me.i researched articles with similar stories and one said something about having their tonssils remove.idk wat to do i need help and advice.

:$ :-) they have medicine for it at target im 12 my aunt took me and you have to get you throat swabed by a docter dont us is it will swell even more drink hot water and get a good night rest :-S
The same thing happened to me, minus the white spots, I've been sick for 8 weeks and they just now are having me get them out...in 3 weeks. You know what I say to doctors. Mean things, very mean things.

It definitely looks like mono. there's a simple blood test that you can do at any time (you don't have to fast before it) and you'll know for sure. I was diagnozed with throat infection, strap throat and finally muscle spasm and it appears to be mono. had all the neck/head pains, sore throat swollen neck limph nodes. good luck

last summer, i had something along those lines. they tested for tonsilitis, it wasnt bacterial so they took me off antibiotics. did the mono test... came back negative. did a different mono test aka ebstein barr virus, came back negative. they finally ran out of ideas after about two weeks of not even being able to eat because of the pain, and i ended up just getting better with a ridiculous amount of aleve liquid gels. anyway, if the mono test comes back negative, test for ebstein barr and whatever you do, dont take antibiotics. it will not kill a virus since they arent living they cannot be killed, hence why theyre called antibiotics, they kill only bacteria. if you take tonsilitis meds when in reality you have mono, you can get a reeeeally weird rash. hope that helped
ow ow ow. it hurts to swallow and that makes my neck hurt and my ear too. i dont know what to do this has been going on all day and i have had strep in the past but i just dont know i have taken the addvice above and i dont have any white dots in the back of my throat but my right tonsil is very red if you guys have any ANY addvice at all that would be great because you know how bad it hurts and aleve are not helping please respond back thanks

my right tonsil is puffy too but it doesn't have white dots on it but it hurts when it's dry %-)
I have the same symptoms, except it's both my tonsils and the up under part of my jaw line is so swollen and sore every time I swallow it feels like My throats gonna tear open and eating anything is like trying to down a pine cone iv never had anything or Hurd of anything like this in my life it's bad I also started getting allot of flem and a little bit of a runny/ stuffy nose but idk if it had anything to do with the throat problem cause my runny stuffy nose is gone now bit my throat is still sore but I still have flem it's very hard to sleep at night when I swallow it wakes me up and wen I was sleeping I guess I couldn't swallow so I would drown in drool and wake up with a mad dry throat that makes it hurts worse to swallow, I'm going on 2 weeks with this agony and no medicine helps I tried everything u can get at the store for it and at most it just silly numbs it and wen I wake up it hurts worse cause I couldn't feel how much pain I was in through the night, if anyone else knows about what ever this is please inform me a little on how long it lasts and if theirs any known medicine that helps. I can't live on 2 hrs of sleep a night if I'm lucky

I am 17 years old and Have been having the SAME symptoms. I have gone to six different doctors and each one said it was a sinus infection...My tonsils have been swolen, I have been haveing major mucus build up, and my neck and back have been this way for almost 9 months now. They said it forsure was not tonsilitis..but I never got tested for staph infection..I can't live with this anymore I feel drained and it hurts worse when I wake up in the mornings.
