You are re-infecting yourselves if the problem comes back relatively fast.  Buy some cheap toothbrushes and throw them out after you use them. Do this until the infection is completely gone. Don't touch the end of the toothpaste tube with the brush either. Another good idea is to put a little chlorine bleach in your dishwashing water and to wipre surfaces including your computer keyboard with a disinfectant. Good hints for a full recovery.....Hygeine, hygeine, hygiene...oh, and hygiene.

to nick15sick you have glandular fever. Its very hard to diagnose and there is not treatment for the virus as your body has to fight it itself and will eventually one day become immune to it. I aquired the virus in 2006 and at first doctors thought i was slowly dying but after one doctors hunch and a few blood tests later i was diagnosed and didn't move from bed for around 6-8 months. My body fought back eventually but every now and then-like today-when my body is feeling run down the infection comes back and my throat glands swell.

Go to your dentist.  Wisdom teeth coming in can cause a hole in your gums which can cause bacteria to infect your throat and tonsils.  Gargle with warm salt water a few times a day.

"When it seemed to be in a dormant stage, my tonsils were secreting whitish-yellow chunks that stay in shape but can easily be crushed. "

That sounds like tonsilloliths AKA tonsil stones.

I started off as a sore throat I think a Tuesday morning. It was very difficult to swallow. I thought I wasn't breathing sometimes because it was so sore. The right side of my neck was very sore. I couldn't gargle warm salt water after that second day. I took all kind of sore throat medicine. I was drinking hot tea with lemon and honey.  After a 3 or 4 days I was feeling better but my voice was terrible and my neck gland was very sore and swollen. It hurt to talk. I went to work that Monday and my boss said you don't sound like yourself. I said I know I feel fine it is just my voice and my tonsil a lil sore. He encouraged me to go to the doctor. I went on to the doctor about my voice and why I couldn't open my mouth all the way. (Keep in mind I felt good. I didn't have a fever the whole time) My doctor tried to look down my throat and told me to go to the ER right away. I had a lot of inflammation. I got there took mono test, strep throat test and cat scam. Cat scam came back I had an abscess in my throat around my tonsil with pus. I had to stay over night. They didn't want it to block my air ways. I didn't go to the doctor until a week later because I thought I was fine. I was treated with antibiotic and steroids and the abscess was getting smaller so, I was able to leave the next day without them putting me to sleep and lancing it. I was giving 2 prescription when I left and if it come back I got to get it lance.

I'm 15 and these are the symptoms I have (yellow looking tonsils, multiple bombs on both tonsils, numbs on the back of my younger going down my throat, scratchy throat, I can also see some veins on my tonsils ) I've been to hospitals and doctors , no one ever has an answer ! They just give antibiotics and they never help the pain goes away but every symptom is still there it's not an STD, tonsillitis , step , Nothing .. I don't know what it is I don't live with my family anymore I'm by myself so I can't go to the doctor till I'm 18 (personal reasons) and I'm just worried I don't want to have throat cancer or anything I've had these symptoms for about a year now and every 34 months I get some type of sore throat or tonsillitis but it goes away with home-remedies .... I just want an answer but it seems every doctor is dumb :/

i know this post was placed over a year ago but i have been experiencing problems with my tonsils and while searching for an answer and solution to my problem I cam across your post right after reading about labyrinthitis. The way you described what is going on with you sound similar to labyrinthitis. I won't get into detail but if you search it up you will see. hope this helps someone.
