Yes, I gained weight. I know there are safer options for us, but I think safer isn't as profitable.
The best asthma inhaler I have ever used is one they took off he market and it was so safe, Intal or you can still get if you buy the cromolyn sodium nebulizer solution which I am going to do here soon. I am down to one puff per day and trying to go for 1 every other day. Hopefully, I will be able to accomplish this, I have recently lost 20 lbs, but it sure took a lot of effort.

I've been on symbicort for a few years now and I have gained a ton of weight. I haven't noticed an increase in my appetite at all but definitely have gained a lot of weight since being on it.
Yes I Take it ,and I have gained weight ,cuz for over 20 yrs my weight been between 180-185 ,never got any higher till I took symbicort 2 months ago now I'm 224 ,this sucks horrible
I have gained 15 pounds since going on symbicort in February 2014. I was always petite and slender. I'm in my early 60s and have been padt menopause for many years. The only game changer for this weight gain is symbicort. I'm on it for a disease I was diagnosed with and incidentally I've never smoked so it's not like I quit. If it's between breathing and weight gain I guess I choose weight gain.

My son is going through the same thing he is 10 and for the last year he Igained a lot of noticeable weight and is constantly hungry like his appetite cannot be satisfied and I feel so bad to tell him no because it almost brings him to tears of how hungry he is the has helped him in the last two years of not having to make emergency room visits in having to do breathing treatments during the winter but I'm worried about his weight gain I know your post was a year ago and I just came across tit did you find any solutions for your son because everytime I try to ask his asthma doctor about his weight gain in the Symbicort he says all studies show it does not cause weight gain
I had to be put on some thing last week and my doctor gave me the symbicort inhaler. I also feel like im starving. Im only 118 lbs and pretty active but I don't want to gain alot. Seems after reading the reviews I may ask for something else. It definitely makes food tastes delicious.
It is best to find out what is causing the asthma, and get rid of that, so you can get rid of, or lower your Symbicort. I found by keeping my bedroom as dust free as possible, I have less asthma. I wash the comforter and mattress cover with my sheets weekly. I also wash down the walls, and have gotten rid of all dust catchers, like knick knacks. I also keep the dogs out of the bedrooms, and floors vaccuumed. It's hard work, but it is nice to breath!
I have gained 40 in 4 years using the steriod inhalers. Symbicort works the best to open my airways. I ask my dr if these inhalers make you gain weight. They say no but thats bs. The insert i side the box i dicates weight gain can occur.
I just went off it today. I've gained 15lbs after going on it. I consume 1000 calories a day and gain weight. The pharmacy said YES THE STEROIDS will cause the weight gain. Personally I don't think I need it. I don't notice a difference

I have gained 10 pounds since i started taking symbicorte, but it do s control my asthma.
I have been on Symbicort for about two years. I noticed the weight gain about 6-8 months into it. Stopped taking it all together and dropped the weight. Since then I have been back on it because it was necessary and sure enough the poundage is coming right back on. I am SURE it is the Symbicort. I don't think it has this affect on everyone but it certainly does with me.
Actually, increased hunger is a rare side effect of using Symbicort.
