symptoms of cracked rib

Well with that info i think i broke my rib because all of those symptoms are happning to me and it also hurts when you sneeze and if you are lying down it hurts to get up too!

I was in the garage and I was backing out on my bike.  Fell right on the dog cage that was in the garage. My lower rib age in the back left sidE is bruised and swollen and it hurts to breathe, turn and bend down. Does anyone know what it is

Your ribs protect the MAJOR organs of your body. I understand not having any money but pain in this area is serious, you can risk DEATH by not having pain checked.

A punctured lung could collapse (I know a young mother who died after leaving hospital against medical advice because she wanted to be home with her 5 children, they found her on the living room floor) A major organ (even your heart) could be cut by a broken rib and cause internal bleeding.

PLEASE see a doctor or go to your local ER

holy c**p that's almost exactly what just happened to me. were they cracked? I can't stand the freaking pain.

That is not always true. In some cases a fractured rib will not show on an xray.

Need help here, I broke 4 ribs on my left side in May 2012, the last 2 months I have the same pain come back, can't lie on that side, hurts to breathe/cough, stabbing pain when I inhale. If I did re-break my rib/ribs, what would they do anyways for me? Should I go back to the ER?

my back ribs 3 of them are broke, every sinse my  stomack right side hurts to tears and my stool ls very often and like fefried beans. help?

I have some Similar Conditions, I have a high pain tolerance. had it sense i was young so, i dont really feel little pain and when i do feel pain its Quiet Strong. last week my Brothers friend tackled me too the ground and slammed on my chest, At the time there was no pain. I can breath fine without pain. and i cannot Stretch without pain, By that i mean if i "Reach for the Stars" if i Push my chest out it hurts, If i Lay on my side and turn my Chest flat i get Extreme Pain. (This is Upper Rib/Chest Pain.[Near the Pecks]). When i feel the bone the side that hurts (Right) is Pushed in more then the left. Hard too tell how much but Roughly 1 cm. I also THINK i can push one of the rib bones Down(In) its near the middle of my chest, Ive searched up these conditions and everything but i seem too be the only one. The Doctors here Take forever too get an appointment with, i wanna know will this go away? or should i see someone?

I also like to know why is there no bruising on the rib . i am feeling the same as this person bruises on elbows but i have none on ribs i don't have insurance also . i can not cough sneeze to lay down is painful to try n lay on that side is out of the question i can't touch it .and when i do i feel something move just a little touch

hi i was playing basketball a few days ago and i tried to dunk the ball, but i built up too much momentum and when i grabbed the rim i slipped and i fell on my ribs 7 feet above the ground. It hurts a little and it hurts the sneeze and cough, and also when i swim and twist my body. Is this a sign on a fractured rib?

I got kicked in the ribs sparring there is a bad bruise and my back is starting to hurt what can I do to relieve the pain

I lost my balance getting out of my boat and landed on a wood piling a(railway ties that we tie boat to at the resort)and landing on the side of my rib I could not breath properly for about 5 minutes and excruciating pain in ribs . At first hurt to take deep breaths but I forced myself to breath deep no pain when breathing deep I also weigh 200lbs and hit really hard. It hurts to do anything

I have this same problemm and it has been 6 weeks. and it's not getting better. I have not fallen or hurt myself to the best of my knowledge. It's in the exact spot you mentioned. 4 weeks later, I have bruising on my back aligned with the upper left rib towards the back. It's strange and I dont know what to do. I had xrays 5 weeks ago and doctor says it isnt broken. What did you find out?

i did this exact same thing on icy steps last night, in the same exact places. What happened to you and how long did it take to get better ?
