Hello everyone.

I had been off my period for over five months and thought I was also having hot flashes. I am over fifty. last spring I was having excessive white pus-like discharge from my pelvic. Dr. said I was Ok. After two months it stoped. But I know my body and it was not normal for me. Well, in October, I gradually started feeling weak and exhausted and slept a lot. Started having really bad headaches (I never used to them), leg pain and leg cramps, abdominal and pelvic pain, low back pain and pain from my left ovary. I have been on my pd, snc November and still spotting, I just got a pelvic ultrasound which showed larger fibroids, but they also found a mass inside my left ovary. I am now having soreness in my left breast. The cyst is inside left ovary and is 1 centimeter. I am a diabetic and scared about all this. At my age this cyst could be cancerous. Is anyone having or had all my symptoms. What did you do?

Hello sister!

Yes I have been diagnosed with the same...IBS and I get the same...bloating, lower back pain and the surprising severe sharp pains on both sides though of my ovaries though...during ovulation and one week before my period which also lasts a few days.

I think I am going to book with my doctor though to get an ultrsound...it's been a few years.

Hi, I was diagnosed with IBS for severe abdominal pains, being sick, not eating etc June 09 and spent a week in hospital to be sent home with medication. Jan 2010 I started feeling sick, had severe abdominal pain (worse than childbirth), I could barely stand. It was mainly in the pelvic area and to the left. I had a Mirena Coil which had been in for 3 and a half years (I'd been advised to use it since having my daughter) I'm 24 and would say I am a fairly healthy and active individual so this was very scary for me. I was bleeding constantly for weeks at a time which I put down to the coil. Anyway, Jan 13th I was ruched into hosptal, had ultrasounds, xrays etc done. I explained it was the same pain area as before but worse pain. I was moved to the gaenocology ward and they explained my coil had buried itself in my womb and I had an Ovarian cyst the size of a grapefruit! I had surgery the next day (laparotomy) and have been off college a lot longer than anticipated. The coil was removed, womb fixed and the cyst removed. I'm struggling getting back to normal and feel flu like symptoms and fatigue daily. This makes me believe the cyst may be back so I have made another appointment with GP.
Cysts according to various sites, do come back and cause a lot of problems. Don't believe the doctors when theyre telling you its IBS, etc. You know your body better than anyone else. I mentioned to the doctors when the diagnosed me in June that the pain was around the pelvic area which made me question if the coil had moved or I had problems with my female organs. They completely ignored this and I was back again in months in more pain.
Good luck getting a diagnosis. I hope they help you because there is nothing more painful than this. I deeply sympathise. My thoughts and prayers are with you all :-)

Hi All
Reading all your posts have given me a lot of reassurance that Im not the only one feeling like this.
Ive got 10cm cyst on my left ovary and am awaiting a date to have it removed and to see what else is going on in there.
Ive been trying for a baby for over 2 years now and all of a sudden this cyst has been discovered. I really hope that that is all the problem is and that Im not infertile.
I have had a lot of symptoms for over a year now, all of which mimic signs of anxiety/stress and hormone imbalance.
I have been told my hormone level might suggest climacteric. What I dont know though is, is it the cyst thats causing my hormones to be like this and that is what is causing me to feel so unwell?
Ive had tummy cramps on and off for a long time, aching/throbbing/buzzing sensation in my legs, headaches, lower back ache(but I just put that down to my job), dizziness, feeling drunk/woozy, very low in mood, anxious etc etc. On two occasions Ive had the worst pain I could describe in my lower tummy area. Once on the right and once on the left.
This pain was so bad that it actually disabled me so I couldnt move. I riled around in pain on the bed the entire night, I even frightened my partner, he had never seen me in so much pain. By the next morning the pain had subsided, and I had a lazy day. The next day I was back to normal again.
I just wondered if these two episodes of severe pain were possibly other cysts that I didnt know that I had, and they had burst/ruptured?
They say that is very painful.

Hi there,
I'm not sure if my case will be reassuring to you or not. I was in hospital twice as a result of the symptoms you listed. To begin with the doctors and surgeons thought I had IBS and could not find anything in the scans etc. The second time I experienced the pain it was 100 times worse. I was paralysed on the spot and sould not walk as the pain was unbearable. After a few days in hospital and more ultrasounds they discovered that I had a cyst the size of a grapefruit on my right ovary. As the pain was unbearable they put me in for surgery straight away. I had the cyst removed during a laparotomy (where they make incision across stomach. In most cases they do keyhole surgery though) I was under for an hour and was in hospital a further 4 days. By day one I was eating and slowly becoming mobile again and by week 6 I was back to my old self, at work etc.
I have looked at similar cases and in most recoveries etc are fine, however the cysts often come back. (4 months later I am experiencing similar signs as before so have made an appointment with my doctor) I'm sure in your case you will be fine. The surgery etc is nothing compared to the pain of the cysts growing. I'm sure you will be a lot happier once you have had them removed.

Best of luck! :-)

I have every one of those symptoms, I am going to the doctors to get an ultrasound and I'm freaking at the results! Do they ever go away? Last night after intercourse I experience the most horrific pain I have ever felt I was lying under the hot water in my shower for 2 hours I'm so glad to read that other people have experienced all these symptoms frequently needing to pee, cramps in the legs, nausea, pain during sex and the list goes on! I was to embarrassed to go to the doctor but after last night I can no longer put it off! I'm scared but hopefully with the right treatment I will feel better!
