My condolences to you! I had mysterious headaches several years ago from age 14-18. These headaches lasted all day everyday. They were a dull throbbing in the back of my head and neck. Sometimes the bridge of my nose would hurt too (and it will will even now) but besides rubbing it, nothing caused the bridge pain to go away. And even then rubbing it was only temporary. I went to every kind of doctor in Houston you could think of. I got nerve blocks in the back of my neck which didn't help. I was even about to get botox injections, and this was way before they were widely advertised as headache remedies! But my mom was concerned and didn't want her 14 year old daughter to be poked and prodded unnecessarily--which I agree. Nothing helped my headaches. But they fizzled out on their own. Every once in awhile I'll get a bad one, but it will just last a few hours and then be over. I wore glasses in 9th& 10th grade but stopped wearing them and switched to contacts. Not sure if that helped. I'm looking into getting rhinoplasty to fix my pointy bridge--I have to very prominent bony projections on my bridge. I hope that will help with bridge pain.
There are a few muscles that attach at the bridge of your nose. These muscles span upwards and connect to your skull in your forehead. My suggestion is to give yourself a forehead & eyebrow massage everyday to see if that can help loosen the tension of the muscles pulling on your nose. Also try not to squint a whole lot (wear sunglasses) or get a prescription glasses if you find yourself squinting to read. Best of luck!
I couldn't find it right away as I wasn't looking in the right place
Could there be a connection?
So, I too woke the other morning with a very tender bridge of my nose. Hurt to touch it, mostly where the cartilage meets the bone. I google the problem.... like a fool. I read about staff, cellulitis, mersa, and many other mildly tragic scenarios after the problem persisted for 3-4 days. I was about to go to an ENT when I said..."one more day" The next day the problem was significantly less prevalent and my nose is now fine. Don't worry too much or assume the worst. Worst case scenarios get the forefront online and get clicked a lot more than posts like this. I assume I wrenched it in my sleep as I play with my nose a lot, bending it so I can breathe better, scratching and picking. Don't mess with it too much, stay away from binge watching HOUSE and give it a few days... a few days without messing with it.
I was having a nagging dull headache, my neck was hurting on my temple on the side. I decided to press the bridge of my nose that was sore and just like you, my head stopped hurting. Yes I'd taken 2 Alieve but they had not kicked in. Putting pressure on the bridge of my nose made the pain in my head and neck immediately subsided! Wow! The mysteries of the human body. I guess the bridge of our nose having paid is an indicator that something else could be wrong. My Blood Pressure was a little high a while ago, so I'll take the paid to be an outlet to keep my head from hurting.
I 've also noticed what right before I have a nose bleed, my head and neck will hurt in the same places.
Ive been suffering with these same symptoms for a week and a half, terrible headaches in the forehead and temple area and my nose feels like Ive been punched. I just sprayed some saline in my nose and have felt some relief! Thank you. Although I'm sure I have sinusitis and probably need some amoxycillin.
