I'm having this problem, and I thought it was normal so I would pick at the pieces and they would grow back (tmi, sorry) but now I found a little lump in my breast around the same spot and I think something's wrong. Has anyone else found a lump.?. I'm kind of scared but im going to get it checked out.

Ladies its dry cracked skin at the tip of your nipples, when you shower scrub over it lightly to remove the dead skin, when you put on lotion, moisturize your nipples, its helps stop the cracked skin. Use something safe and fragrance free. For women who are breast feeding, you can really put anything on it.

You may just have inverted nipples. Usually breast pumps will pull the nipple out that what I had to do In order to breast feed my daughters.

Yes! I'm 16 and the exact same thing has been happening to me since I was about 12-13. very damaging to the self esteem so if anyone finds any answers please post!

I'm 21 years old now and have had dry and somewhat scabby nipples since I ever remember hitting puberty. The middle gets dry and yellowish and then eventually falls off and the same process, I went to my GP a few years back and I was told it was eczema I was given a steroids ointment to use which was absolutely rubbish and pretty much ate at the skin so I gave up went back and tried another one which was the exact same thing. I've recently changed GPs and i was told it wasn't eczema and it's just dry skin and to use Vaseline which I did for a while and it helped but I get a bit lazy with it to be honest. As long as it's not bleeding or leaking and is on both breasts it's unlikely to be anything worrying. Good luck girls.

I know this is a really late comment but I need some help, I've had similar problems to people on here, basically I'm a 14 year old female and I always over think things so I don't know if I'm over thinking this but for a while my breasts have had this weird yellow crust coming out I don't know what it is but it forms then eventually gets brushed away (I saw someone post something similar to this) but then the other thing is on my right breast it feels like theres a painless lump inside, I did searching a bit and it looks like lots of 14 year olds have had this lump, and the final thing is on my right breast theres a weird brown spot next to the nipple? I don't know what any of this suggests but I'm getting really paranoid that I have cancer or something serious :( even though the chances of a 14 year old getting caner is like 1% can someone please help me it would mean so much if I could just get this sorted and relax. Sorry about the yuk details but thanks guys

What your describing with the yellow crust is just dry nipples try using vaseline and the lump youve mentioned is very much likely to be your glands which we have all over out body try checking your other breast aswell for something similar. The brown spot might just be a beauty spot/mole. Everything youve mentioned i have had since around 14 and im 21 now so dont worry you'll live :). I know how paranoid you must be because ive been there but for your peace of mind visit your doctor just for them to assure you. Good luck

^^Thank you so much, it's helped me to relax a lot more kind of like dropping something really heavy off your shoulders, and hearing you've had similar things its kind of comforting to know I'm not the only one. I'm going to try using the vaseline and hopefully that will sort things out, and my other breast doesn't have a lump just to say. I'll look into seeing my doctor to be on the safe side too. Thanks again :)

I've got this same problem, it never goes hard or dark coloured just stays a creamy yellow colour and every few months I get very sensitive (burning sensation) on my nipple and it's like I horrid material is rubbing against them. I gently pull the yellow bits out (sorry) and it leaves me feeling more sensitive but for the first time today it looked sort of like it was bleeding a tiny bit after and both nipples looked slightly red, maybe I just never noticed it before. But it never looks cracked or horrible and the stuff I pull off seems to be quite soft it just covers a layer and I can peel it. Maybe it's just irritated.ahould I be worried. Ps. As of last year I have gained cysts on each side of my ovaries and my periods last about 9 weeks at a time at the minute (having an op this month to see if they can find any real problems) I'm 20 years old and I think I've been having this nip issue for a few years now. Don't know if they are related.. Thanks.

I know that u posted this comment ages ago but I am 14 and after reading your post it is literally exactly the same symptoms I have. But I do pick at mine, and I'm really nervous to go to the doctors about it. If you have found out what it is I would really appreciate you posting what it is cause I am really scared it could be some sort of cancer or something.

I'm 14 too and I have a spot next to my nipple to it probably just a freckle but if you are worried you should probably go see a doctor about it just to be safe.
