Im 16 and had this once before but now its happening again its quite painful if i touch it what should i do next?
Hi I'm 21 and I've had this since I hit puberty when I was about 13 and both nipples are crusty and in pieces and when I get out of the bath or shower they stick out they only don't fall off but are very sensitive and painful when touched I already have eczema so that could be possible but I'm still worried
This is exactly me I'm a teen and I have been too embarrassed to ask have you found anything els out about this?

I'm 13 and have had this for a while (fairly early bloomer). I began to get super worried yesterday so i went on here and it seems to be very normal. is it correct that i should just clean it in the shower and moisturise afterward with non-scented moisturiser? Im still a little worried so some clarification would be great :)
i has this problem for a while but recently just found it had stopped. I actually stopped moisturising my nipples and instead just went round and saw that it didn't make a difference. i think the solution is to clean with soap in the shower, but try to avoid moisturiser. That worked for me, though I'm not sure about everyone else.
Hopefully this helps? ^^
I am having the same problem. I am 21 and i think i was 18 when i started having this problem. This happens only on my left breast. Some pieces of my nipple comes off specially during winter. It's a bit scary coz i don't know why is this happening but if all of us are facing the same problem then may be it is a common thing. But if anyone has the answer for this problem, plz do share with us.
Being 14 sucks. You hear all this stuff about cancer and you have lumps in your boobs. The lumps you have in your boobs are just the mammory gland. Basically it's a ball sack that your body uses to produce the milk when you get prego. Sometimes they hurt especially during puberty. Cancerous lumps will be more on your side boob. If you want to avoid getting cancerous lumps in your breasts, take your bra off before going to sleep, or better yet stop wearing one if your comfortable enough with it. Try not to keep electronic devices in and around your boobs because the radiation can eventually lead to cancer (it's happened). Good luck :)
Has I stopped? I have the same problem for a while now and I'm 13 too. I'm getting worried.
Hi everybody, I had commented before and have been following this for a while. I'm 17 now and i've had this for what seems like forever. I can only assume it started around puberty, because although I haven't told anybody, my mum never mentioned it to me so she must have never seen it when I was a child. I am so uncomfortable with it that I even wear a bikini in the bath / shower and tried to never get it wet. What I have found is that if I wear a thin vest in the shower it helps a lot with things like water pressure ect. I've also found that the more wet it does get the easier it falls off, which i have found that my actual nipple is starting to come through on the right. I have dark broken bits around my nipple still but it is getting better. I hope this has helped anybody! It is getting better slowly
I'm 14 years old too and I've had this problem. I'm pretty sure it's not cancer and just dry skin so try to use lotion and maybe that will help.
I too have the same problem with my nipples. It started after I had my 4th child and decided to breastfeed. They would get plugged up with this yellowish, whitish, brownish crust. They didn't hurt but they looked nasty. I usually clean them after a shower when the crust is soft and i can scrape most of it off with my nail then I get out the tweezers! Probably not the best thing to do but it takes care of the problem. They do get sensitive after but they look much better. I never worried about this problem just thought it was from the breastfeeding. My son is 5 now and I don't see the problem going away anytime soon. I personally think it's hormones but I'm not a doctor.
So it's been a really long time since anyone has posted on this but this is all completely normal. Your breasts are like Milk ducts. They are meant to produce milk. Your nipple has a hole in it like any other pore on your body. Kind like a pimple.. But don't pop it or mess with it. I tried doing that and it hurt. It's all very normal. This happens to me too. I'm 21 and was quite curious about this as well. I never really thought Much about it. I talked to my mom and she said that it was normal and that it happens because of your fluctuating hormones.
I'm also 14 and I have the same problem :// But i'm freaking scared to take the "crust" off..
