This is EXACTLY what has just begun happening to me. I've been doing uv gels at home for 5+ years, I use Sally Hansen, gelish, and red carpet. About 5 weeks ago your same symptoms showed up & I'm afraid to do them again. What did you ever figure out?
I have been going through the same thing. I have been getting gel for a long time now and thought it was the primer, so last time I didn't have him use it at all , I still have the itchy & dry cuticles. My skin peels all around & under my nails. I don't know what to do.
I need some home remedie for relief for fingers and face.
I got acrylic nails for years before this happened. Switched to gel and still happened. Starting buying my own nail kits without MMA (methamacralyte) and I was fine. I recently went to the salon after 5 years or so and told them I had an allergy to MMA and they used liquid gel instead of powder and I was fine. Just have to make sure to check nail polish ingredients too!
I have the exact problem and can't get my cuticles and skin healed
I'm a nail tech. I have the same problem. The doctor told me that I'm allergic to liquid monomer. I told him I have been using for a long time, but he told me it does not matter. I have developed an allergic reaction.
Mine hands heal within 3 weeks. First they ich badddd and then they get swollen and then they're numb and finally they get super dry and peel
How are your fingers today? This is happening to me now!! Nails done on Tuesday- today is Thursday- started last night. So itchy this morning I cannot stand it!
I've had the same reaction after doing my own gel nails, we have just become sensitive to the products used, I've never had a problem before and suddenly I react , so itchy and sore ! Unfortunately will will always be sensitive now ! Eak
I have been doing my nails for 7 years the last 2 years my nails get itchy , puffy and peel everytime. I tried bio see weed which helped a bit but I have still not found a solution. Please post the solution to this !! Thanks guys.
Idk if you will get this reply, but I so GREATLY appreciate your post!!!! My fingers are so swollen and itchy and they are driving me crazy!!! I too have been having my nails done for years and just all of a sudden this itchy, horribly red and swollen reaction on my cuticles started and lasts for 3 to 5 days after I have my fill ins. I guess I will be calling salons in my area and asking if they use MMA or EMA. I just don't understand why for so many years everything was fine and now all of a sudden this reaction happens???
Same with me!!!!!

So what did the doctor say to do????
Is there a fix for it???
I was told there are 2 kinds of monomers 1 called MMA which is a cheaper version and 1 called EMA which is a very expensive version and that there is a component in the MMA that is causing all these reactions .... do you know anything about these 2 products??

I've been having issues like everyone is describing also. Burning itching irritated cuticles. Also it should not hurt at all when you get them done. Unless you've gotten nipped somehow or burned by the nail file. I'm going to try gel acrylic it's a new technique. Hopefully that works
I read it's an allergic reaction to the acrylic liquid monomer. There's a chemical that Causess the terrible itch.
Not sure what it is.
