Use Target Maxi Super Absorbency pads (or similar product). Like overnight pads for women on heavy days. They have adhesive, stick 'em right to your underwear. Works great.

Thanks, but as I was saying I don't have the problem now.

50 yr old male and been suffering with this for approximately 4 years.  I tried all sorts of remedies with little success.  The leaks got so persistent (3-5 hrs duration) that I would end up with the damp patches leechinhg through my underwear and showing in the seat of my trousers - very embarrassing in the open office environment where I work.  In the end out of sheer desperation I resorted to using womens panty liners and now simply place one inside my undies whilst I am sat on the loo.  I buy quite cheap, normal grade ones with adhesive backing to keep them secure and in place and I have never looked back since.  It works perfectly and both the wetness and odour are contained.

Has anyone tried anul plugs you can be subscribed them from doctor to stop leakage? You apparently place them in and a mushroom shaped foam expands after it's placed In to stop anything coming through

I'm really glad I found this site because my now my problem was fixed in one days.  Like a lot of you, I was having trouble with uncontrolled discharge throughout the day.  I normally have my first bowel movement first thing in the morning right after a cup of coffee.  But starting about two months ago, I noticed no matter how much I wiped I was always getting a discharge throughout the day that would cause me to have re-wipe.  This pattern would repeat multiple times throughout the day.  It was very frustrating, embarassing, and not to mention uncomfortable.  My anus would be irritated and bright red all the time from the wiping and this only compounded the problem.  I tried putting vaseline down there and preparation H but the problem did not go away.  After reviewing all the messages on here, it seemed like adding fiber to my diet was the best solution.  I have noticed, but I'm not sure when or how long, that I've had to wipe a lot more than normal with my regular morning bowel movement.  It was like I could never completely get my anus clean afterwards and the extra irritation of the anus perhaps caused the discharge throughout the day because my anus never healed from the irritation.

As a solution, I bought powder fiber and tree tea oil.  The tree tea oil is something I've used in the past to help with all types of healing.  I put some on a cotton ball and applied it to my irritated anus.  I did this twice to just help the soothing.  You will feel a bit of a burn/heat sensation at first but that means it's working.  The tree tea oil is just optional  Then, I did the real trick.  I had a glass of water with two teaspoons of fiber powder both in the morning and in the evening.  The next day, I woke up and had my cup of coffee and then had my bowel movement.  I couldn't believe it, but the bowel was completely solid and when I wiped there was nothing on it!! A one wipe miracle!!  I usually had at least 10-20 wipes with every bowel movement.  I kept checking throughout the day and no extra mess, no irritation, no swamp butt.  It's only been one day of success, so I'll check back in a few weeks with an update.  But I can't believe just adding a little bit of fiber has fixed the problem. I admittedly don't have much fiber in my diet...who knew.  I hope this helps some of you, definitely try the fiber.  We all have different scenarios and reasons why this is happening, so it may not work for everyone but more fiber seems to be the trick.

I am afraid my post for the cure got lost in the noise. Everybody here seems to moan and to elaborate on their lifestyle. Get Psyllium Husk, your usage of toilet paper will drop down from one roll a day to one square per bowel movement. It is available form Amazon in 1kg bags. See my post about Psylium husk.

I have been consuming fresh sauerkraut for six months now - initially store-bought and now I am making it at home. My pruritis ani which has plagued me on and off for years, diminished to the point that I no longer had to carry some LipIce with me. This is a South African product which is a lip balm, but works magically in stopping the itch - just place a small amount on toilet tissue and gently wipe.

However, since I am now a pro-biotic convert, I decided to add coconut keifer to my regime. BAD MISTAKE. For the past week since starting I have had hellish anal itching. Googling brought up many sites saying that keifer causes rashes in some people, so I'm assuming it is the cause. Anyway, I've stopped the keifer today and will see if the itching improves.

Incidentally, what really converted me to sauerkraut, was how my elbow joing issues which I have had for years, have completely healed. I even now have a spring boxing ball. Sk is the only change that I made in my diet over the past six months. My appetitie has diminished and I feel wonderful. It is so easy to make.

I am 53 yr. old female & have this problem, but not as severely as some who have posted here. Leakage is occasional, within a few hours of bowel movement, but my biggest complaint is consistently having an irritated anus & slight bright red bleeding after I walk for exercise or do activites that involve repeatedly stooping or bending (like gardening or yard work). I noticed this bleeding last May when I tried to re-start walking for exercise, after years of being "too busy" to exercise regularly. If I don't exercise I don't bleed, but that seems a bad solution & it still doesn't stop the occasional leaking & my anus feeling constantly irritated! I had a colonoscopy last Feb with good results, so I didn't panic, but have been to 3 different doctors & none of them seem to have answer. The last Dr. said I had a slight anal fissure, possibly from my falling hard onto my butt a few months earlier & the "folds" in my anus semi-attaching together during healing & then being torn back open when anus dialated for BM. Was told not to exercise, use Rx cream & dialate my anus with finger when applying it, to allow the skin to heal properly. But my anus returned to being irritated when Rx cream was gone. I had no bleeding during Winter because no exercise. Spring has arrived & I tried to start walking again, but that caused bleeding again. My theory is that my anus skin is so irritated by the acidity of the leakage & that skin has become so fragile that any prolonged friction (like walking) just tears it open. I am so frustated about not being able to do something as simple as walking for 30 mins. or gardening!! I take fiber powder daily & I eat reasonably healthy. Nobody else has mentioned consuming alcohol, but the one bad thing I may be doing is drinking a couple of glasses of wine each night. There was one post here about histamines being a possible culprit, & wine has histamines.  I have stopped having my nightly wine & will post back when enough time has passed to see if this has any effect. So glad I found this forum to know I am not alone!

oh my gosh I literally have the exact issue as you …a lot of dogs have the same thing and it is very gross, and when i noticed that on myself it literally scarred me!! I've noticed that when I go to the bathroom in the morning i seem to like suffer from this smell all day, I've been lately going to go to the bathroom at night so that i don't have to smell out in public..i have been spending most of my days at school and with friends holding in my poops all day, though that is very annoying, its better than smelling like a dogs anal leakage, i am an 18 year old male and i have discussed this issue with my mother but i am yet to see a doctor about this issue.

I'm 64 and I've spent the last five years or more suffering from the same disgusting problem. I walked around all day feeling like I had petroleum jelly between my cheeks. Underware was always stained and my trips to the bathroom were every 1/2 hour.

I also suffer from arthritis, high Bp, and sinus congestion with constant drainage down my throat. The arthritis had me in tears every morning and the sinus drainage caused me vomiting. All in all I hated everyday.

I started researching homeopathic remedies and reading all I could find about herbal medications, ancient Chinese medicine, European apothecaries, and American Indian medicines. I tried so many things over the years. I finally found a combination that has proven a God send. Proper diet, barley grass, cayenne, garlic, ginger, turmeric, black cherry, flax seed oil and vitamin D for those living in northern climes. I stress the diet and barley grass. Barley is described as nature's perfect food.

Anyhow, I haven't taken an Ibuprofen or sinus med in months, my anal discharge is gone, completely gone, and my sinuses no longer drain. I still have high Bp but I'm working on it.

Our western diets are rife with junk and our bodies are not pH balanced. I'm not a vegan and I like my beer and meat. I've just learned to be moderate. Do your own research and read about the above natural herbs. It's worked for me. Hope this helps.

check your diet . If you have too much milk products like yogurt that could cause the leaking in the morning. It could be you have a reaction to milk. You can say it never brother you till your 40. Well at 40 your body starts to change. I went to 1 per cent milk it still happened. Stopped milk all together it stopped. Its part of irritable bowel sydrone it changes later in life.
