I really hate this feeling. It has been going on for years... and it's happened twice this week already! Does anyone know what this is a symptom of?

I get the same thing, I'm 15 and I still get it quite a lot.

Me and my brother also get it we call it a fast spell. My mom used to get it too and thought she was crazy until me and my brother finally told her. It happens less and less as I get older but it just happened now for about five minutes and was very scary except for the fact that I have felt it before and it was a familiar feeling...

Me too . A few years back I got a nightmare about like I have a few seconds to do something and sometimes when I am having exams or homework I will tent to think that I am doing it in a hurry or in a rush.
And I am actually quite worried as like sometimes when my Mother talks to me I will think that I am talking to her in a very fast speed

This is a symptom of anxiety, (and this is coming from a psychologist).

So happy to hear there are many who have experienced it. I thought I was going crazy! I don't experience it anymore, mostly in my preteens and teen years, a few in my 20's.
Maybe it's hormonal.

I also experienced that kind of thing! It really freaks me out everytime it happens to me usually it well happen after I woke up and i got up immediately. It kinda feels like all things are rushing and my minds keep on telling me the same thing over and over again real fast. When that happend I just close my eyes, relax and after a few minutes it'll stop.

I have the same sort of feelings, but things aren't necessarily moving faster, it is more my thoughts that feel like they are speeding up or something. So hard to explain. I dont hear voices, but my mind feels like it is moving faster. Strangely enough, i notice it sometimes when im under water or turn on a light or something. Its so strange...

Does anyone else with this "fast forward" get a weird, taste/feeling, very uncomfortable feeling in their mouth, roof of their mouth and tongue with this? I also get this feeling along with the feeling of everything speeding up. i have gotten these episodes since I was a kid, I would ask my mom "does it sound like everyone is talking really fast?" and she'd of course say no everything is fine.
I also have a weird feeling in the back of the base of my skull when I get these feelings.
I haven't had one in many many years and just had one again last night, I'm 43 years old. The last one I had was at least 8 years ago. Why do they come back out of the blue?

I have the same feeling, and let me just say, when I move, I feel like I do it so heavily! In fact I'm having one right now, I just knew there was someone like me.

I'm in my late 50s now, but use to get them as a child a lot. During these episodes of 'fast forward' (best describes it now), I also felt like I had experienced what was going on around me before but I couldn't say what would be the outcome - more like a deja vous. I always thought it was weird. I'm glad to read that it could be due to low sugar. I also use to always dream I could fly so I'm wondering if there was a link - maybe I'd get it in my sleep too! BTW it did stop in my mid 20s.

Hey google this: "the rushes alice in wonderland syndrome"

The first few links that pop up are research articles/websites on what everybody here is experiencing

One was written by a doctor who went through a forum (just like this one!) and documented what people were saying. Seriously google it and check out the links.

The name of the 'fast feeling' is The Rushes.
