It's probably the b12 . I know it helps to reduce leg spasms from nerve damage

Interesting. I see a lot of people have had a surgery in common.

I have been having the same problem for about four years. I am over weight and 53. Sex, wiping my sss and getting up to fast can trigger it. I had so bad I called 911. Then went and seen a doctor. He didn't understand why, it's the worse pain imaginable. I have laid naked of the door of my bathroom and works bathroom. Takes 30 min to go away sometimes. I have to just fall on the floor and relax until it stops. Then sometimes when I think it's gone i move and bam. Hits again. Someone please help. Michael

I had ribreduction/internal fixation,and I am plagued 24/7 unless laying down..like a chainsaw hitting!
Think there is a connection between surgery and this?

That response doesn't address the question of abdominal spasms. I have been getting spasms for years now and they are sometime accompanied by pain or tightness around the rib cage. When they come they are awful and seem to subside when I massage it. What is causing this?

I have had them for the past 9 years. A Charlie horse is exactly how it feels. If i put my hand on the spot I can feels the muscles tightening and balling up. I've taken potassium, niacin, everything. No doctor has been able to diagnose me. Just Soma to relax my muscles. The spasm usually lasts about 5 minutes, but I'm on the floor crying the whole time till it lets up. Only position that helps is to lay right where the spasm is and push doen, like you would do eith a Charlie horse. Anyone at all been diagnosed ?

wow,you have gone thru alot.i also experience this same pain.i avoid moving or stretching in a way that may cause this.recently I had blood work, just routine, and found I have vit d defiency.i take 2000 units a day,so upped it to 3000.same stomach charley horses, more bloodwork.upped to 4000. I get allot of sun and drink milk.still have the cramps.maybe switch to a better brand of d? idk.would rather do all this ,than to have gall bladder removed and possibly other things.think I could live with it,just have to be careful

Hi everyone! My symptoms started in my abdominals on the left side about 2 weeks ago, I had a baby about 4 weeks ago so I think maybe that's where my problems are coming from? The first few times it wasn't really painful, more annoying than anything. The first thought that came to my head was that I felt like I was having contractions again! But there's no way, so I just assume it's muscle spasms/Charlie horse. But a few nights ago, it was so severe, I couldn't breathe. Even my inhaler (asthma) didn't help. Those time it last for about 30-45 mins. I was rolled up into a ball on the bathroom floor crying and screaming for my husband. He almost called an ambulance for me, but I had him call my mother instead who helped talk me through it. She suggested leaning black to stretch it, arms over my head, warm bath to help relax the muscles (it helped a bit) I ended up on the bed laying on my right side with my left arm up over my head. I'm not sure if I should have let my husband call the ambulance or not, but I think next time we might have too. They keep progressively getting worse. I almost blacked out from hyperventilating/not being able to breathe last time. I'm terrified of it happening again when I'm home alone with my daughter. What if I do pass out next time? What then? I've been trying to get an appointment set up with my doctor, but she's been too busy to see me. So we'll see what we can do! Wish me luck!

taking potassium without a doctor's guidance is very, very dangerous.it could cause life-threatening problems.

I get my pain in my upper right side it first happened in my 20s and dropped me to my knees I am now 42 and I still get it. Generally when I'm working out I can't do any crunches or leglifts into a high rep range without it happening I have also gotten it from either sneezing hard or doing A sudden movement. It is extremely painful I've never had any surgeries I've never had a gallbladder issue and as much searching as I do on the Internet I have yet to find any answer that is remotely helpful.

it could be 2 things, low magnesium or acid reflux and i get acid reflux issues from my mums side like some other conditions, i've had some pretty bad bouts' of acid reflux where it's mostly a lot of pain at the top of my stomach and usually i throw up after about an hour of agonizing pain, first try some Gavison or the cheaper kind that's the same and it works straight away, just take a tablespoon with a bit of milk or water if you feel like milk will make it worse and if it's acid reflux then it will be gone when you take it. Finally just in case id get an ultrasound done to see if there is any enlarged pollucks on your ovaries, now if that's the case docs and nurses will try to say it's your ovaries that are the issue but these things either just happen or is an adrenal problem but so far they've haven't wanted to cure it.
