hope you are doing better, danielle.
have you tried a muscle relaxant like a low dose of valium?
it might help you. sometimes the muscles get so tight that trigger.point treatment alone doesn't help.

Hi everyone, I got what I thought was the same pain after a uti, tried every remedy on the website from supplements to alkalise the urine, apple cider vinegar, almond milk, tea tree oil, cutting out caffeine, 4 anti biotics and long term long lose antibiotics at night, a blind gonorrhoea treatment. The pain had been going on since January, not sleeping with it, having to sit my finals, a horrible time in my life. Saw a gynecologist yesterday who has 30-40 years experience, said it looked most like a dermatitis! So day 2 of a strong steroid cream, applied liberally, and I am feeling a bit better! I have one week of this cream dermavate twice daily and then once daily for a week. Also using a topical number called instillagel used in hospitals before inserting cathaders etc. I paid a lot of mosey to see this guy, so maybe suggest this steroid cream to your gp! If this can help anyone try it, keep strong, I was almost loosing my mind but now may have a hope, I'll keep you posted if it works completely!

Yes they can I thought I had all kinds of symptoms of an STD got everything checked out and everything came back negative but still had the burning after urination. Ibuprofen was the only thing that had seemed to help. Drinking water also helps by thinning out your urine. I have been diagnosed with varicole pocket in my scrotal area sorry I'm a male. I have squeezed my penis so much it had irritated the lining of my urethra. So yes mental symptoms cause a lot of health problems. I also supposedly have a bit of PTSD I had bruised my penis shaft then started googling everything about it then your mind runs rapid about I have this or that this symptom or that and then you start feeling even worse. sorry for this being so long Im ecstatic that Im finally in with a counselor and talking about it makes you feel better again sorry for the long post. HOPE EVERYONE HEALS AND GOD BLESS........

Has your Dr checked for Urethral Diverticula? Reading all of these posts on this thread is what it sounds like :( Worst pain imaginable, believe me, I understand.

I have the same symptoms, sore / burning in the urethra but no infection. Think / hope it is hormone related as I'm breastfeeding and therefore oestrogen levels are low. Had similar problem whilst breastfeeding my first 2 children but it cleared within a few weeks. This episode has been going on for a few months on and off and in varying degrees of severity. Dr thinks an initial infection and then thrush has complicated things. I've taken antibiotics which helped initially and also thrush treatments but flared back up after both. Sex, coffee and alcohol seem to be triggers. My baby is now nearly 8 months old and eating more solids so really hope that this will improve once she cuts back on feeding and my hormones return to normal. Encouraged to see hormones seem to be the issue for others here as this is no fun!

I tested negative for uti but was in tremendous pain. Believe I am allergic to bleach and fabric softener. Can only wear cotton, white, underwear. Took benederyl and motrin for week to get the inflammation and drinking lots water, and even used ice packs when sitting. No more bleach for washing clothes and linens and absolutely no fabric softener.

I have have suffered with urethra pain since I was about 15 years old. My mother kept taking me to several doctors until one finally referee us to a urologist. He discovered the problem immediately. I have a narrow urethra with a flap on the end which is not supposed to be there. I use a lot of over the counter productsthat have granbury juice in them. Azo tabs work too. They can dilate it with special tools bit for that is really painful. Hopes this helps
