I subject getting some Jamican black castor oil . It just about heals everything. I was having the same problem before my period but now I coat my finger with the oil and rub it around the vaginal walls . It will cool the burning sensation and then it will stop for good . Do this everytime you have that feeling . It's 100% natural and won't harm you .

Hi, when do you insert the boric acid suppositories? As most women here, I get irritation about 2-3 days before my period. If I use the suppository when it starts to get irritated/itchy, will it prevent it from happening or at least reduce severity of symptoms? Thanks!

Wow, I can't believe the stories I'm reading on here..!

I have the same problem! I though it went away for a while but Its back as we speak. I'm due for my period any day now. Breasts are as hard a rock and I feel incredibly bloated and I peeid an hour ago then all of a sudden I'm watching tv and I get that feeling again..it hard to describe, but to me it feels like a bladder infection. ( here we go away ) good thing I am a student now and I dont have exams tomorrow!

I found the best way for me was to use Canestin tablets. Takes a while for it to work, like an hour or so but otherwise, I'm not getting out of bed. I feel like it gets worse when I'm stressed out as well and depending on what I eat. I've been eating a lot of acidic foods all week ( stupid ) I should know better by now not to eat that.

Also, organic cranberry juice....? tried that plus the tablets. Didn't do anything for me. I went to see a gynocologist and told him my problem and he suggested I get Marina, which is a form of birth control. Its gonna stop my period for a while and hopefully I wont get this issue every month.

I'm happier when this hits me at night in bed and not at work, school or at my boyfriends. Usually, if I get a solid night sleep, I feel better in the morning. But I also just realised I'm out of Canestin :(

Try a different brand of tampon or pad, same thing is happening to me. I guessed its the dye or the mixed fabric that is doing it

I have the same problem and there are usually no signs of discharge but if you do an internal check you will have a pastey discharge which is an indication of yeast infection. I battle this every month along with reoccurring uti's and bacterial vaginosis of which I am equally as baffled. Sorry that I didn't have An answer just thought it would bring you comfort knowing your not the only 1. I do know that carbs and sugar can cause an over growth of candida (yeast) in your gut. Your gut is the source of your immune system. You may want to try a probiotic, there is 1 specifically for the vagina I believe it's called ultimate flora. I used it 1ce but couldn't afford to keep it up. It was about $27 for a 30 day supply. Try decreasing your carb and sugar intake as well. ( this includes beer, wine, and liquor). Hope this helps. :-)

I have three children. I've had the Mirena for five years previously after my first two kids were born and then again just recently after my third one was born. I have a history of BV but I've been treated for it every time so I know what the symptoms are when it happens. I have a history of excessive discharge also but it has never given me any problems. Before I had this second Mirena insertion done, my OB gave me a round of antibiotics for these symptoms you all are describing and told me that my vagina was being overprotective of itself by creating too much good bacteria. I was also taking Ortho Tri Cyclen up until the day of insertion. That's the reason I switched btdubbs because I thought I was reacting to the Ortho. I've had two periods since insertion and this second period I've had the same symptoms as before but not NEAR as bad as before! Honestly, I think it all adds up to harmones and bacteria. These symptoms started for me last summer. My fiancé and I had sex one morning while I was on my period. He spermalated inside and I peed, wiped extremely well, and stuck a tampon in. Never had a problem before but afterwards, it was almost as if a switch was turned on and I have been fighting it every month since. It was so bad, to the point of me having to run to the bathroom to cool it down for relief of freaking itching! But this time around it hasn't been too bad. I think it's just imbalance because it doesn't show up on tests!

Oh my goodness i am so glad i found this thread. Im 16 and a virgin and not sexually active but recently after my periods my vagina gets sore, itchy and dry. i tried putting some anasethetic gel for genitals on it but that just made it sting. next to the clitoris i have always had a weird ssticky out bit of skin and this becomes EXTREMELY painful after my periods. i do think its an allergy to pads and tampons

This happens to me too! I'm glad it doesn't just happen to me, I was starting to get worried. I've been searching around on the Web trying to find out what it was, still haven't gotten a real answer but it's very common

The most effective thing for me was using vaseline. As uncomfortable as that may seem, it helped a lot with the irretation. Applied to the affected area, it does wonders.

I have this discomfort also. I am very sensitive to laundry detergents and scented feminine products; if I am exposed to one of these, my vulva area will flare for days. I've had these symptoms for about 4 years and they are very intermittent. I go months and months with no problems at all! However, when I do need relief, I have found that making a Sitz bath with Domeboro solution (found at most pharmacies) and cool water helps to relieve my symptoms.

More helpful, though, is assuming that I am tremendously intolerant to fragrances, parabens, additives, really any type of irritant that might find its way around my genitals.

Ladies, our parts are very sensitive! Do not use scented tampons or pads, highly fragrant soaps, laundry soaps or lotions down there. You may not even realize what the culprit is until you do some investigating. I cannot even use fabric softener for my panties and Tide is much too harsh for me.

You will learn what works with your body. Until then, treat your symptoms with topical triamcinolone, betamethasone, clotrimazole, Nystatin, or any such corticosteroid creams. I've been tested and tested and no one can detect subcutaneous irritation on a Pap or urine test, so these are useless. I have even used ice packs and heating pads to the area with some relief.

Also, you may want to consider a differential for the problem. Is it your entire vulvar area, or is the pain/discomfort more localized, to your urethra perhaps? If so, maybe consider a urology consult to evaluate for a stricture, or other phenomenon.

Take good care and best wishes to all you ladies.
