I'm 45 years old, have had low back pain for near 20 years (bartender/restaurant manager). My Dr diagnosed me with sciatica and put me on Gabapentin 2 1/2 years ago. Immediately, I started having menopausal symptoms and was tested months later only to find out my levels were normal. After some time, my pack pain changed. I would experience jolts of pain that started in my back and would radiate up and down my right side. After having X-rays they discovered my L4 is lying on my L5. At this time, my Famiy Dr prescribed a stronger form of Gabapentin called Horizant. I lived with this new pain for months. The medicine didn't help with the jolting pain but I did notice my vagina had less feeling than normal. I would leak urine if I sneezed or coughed. THIS was unacceptable! I saw an Orthopedic Dr who ordered a MRI. The results showed Cauda Aquina near the bottom of my spine and slipping of my L5. So, Ortho Dr prescribed shots to be put in both sides of my spine (horrible experience). After 2 sets of injections, my vag is still numb, I still pee myself when I cough or sneeze. After more research, I have decided to go off my Horizant (side effects are running my life). Hopefully, when I see my Ortho Dr next, he will have more answers for me! I wish everyone luck on finding the root of their vaginal numbness!!
