I too had a vertigo problem 2 yrs back when MRI OF BRAIN and CT Scan reaveled that i had sinusitis, the blockage is removed and i got relief but again it repeated after 1 year little suction of sisus relieved for again 1 more year and the problem repeated. Now i had FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) a week back. i hope my problem shall be cleared
I have had occasional bad positional vertigo coupled with uncontolled eye movements. CT scan indicated I had acute and chronic sinusitis with no outward symtoms other than occasional sinus headaches and blocked ears. GP precribied antibiotics. ENT recommended surgery due to a deviated septum. I know several people who have had the surgery with mixed results, mostly unfavorable. Hopefully the antibiotics will do the trick.
:'( I truly need some help. I have been going through this for 10 months now to the point where I am not working. I have been to all the top ENT Drs., I have been to the eye Dr. I have been to the neurologist. My sinuses are fine. I am going for another ENG this week to compare it with the other one. Does anyone have any advice ideas OTHER THAN deviated septum.. sinuses or anything else in that area. Seems NOT to be my problem. I do have hypothyroidism. I read someone mention that but they didn't say if that was the cause. Please help any way possible.
I have had vertigo for 4mths, finally I went to a chiropractor and then began doing sternocloidmastoid muscle stretches and it went away, it came back after I visited a physio, whom massaged the back of my neck, it is now just going away. Neck and back of head muscles can replicate the feeling of sinusitis and vertigo. Bowen therapy, chiropractic or trigger point massage abd stretching have helped me alot.
I have been having, what I call dizziness for about 15 years. It really is more of a walking
imbalance and I feel like I'm drunk, and look like that also, I imagine. I've had
lots of test done and the cat scan showed that I have acute sinusitis. It seems
to get worse in the winter which I believe is caused by the cold wind and weather.
It seems to be very common, so I do assume that it's either an allergy or
sinusitis. If anyone would like to email me please do so at ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed **

I'm desperate for a solution as I am a 75 years old, have osteoporosis and
know that I am going to fall if I don't find a solution.

hello,
i had a septum problem, which was fixed-surgury. after about a year, the "swelling" has gone away, as has the vertigo.
i was a luck case as there seems NOT to be any structural ear issues, but a friend just came down with vertigo and it's caused by a cyst within the ear.
long and short of it, vertigo isn't very nice. it took me about 3 years to have anyone notice my wonky septum, but beforehand i was given antidepressants because of the initial headache problems, then androgel when the pills actually made me into a zombie. it was a complete rollercoaster ride. malpractice to be honest.
it took a walk-in nurse to bother to look up my nose! when i mentioned this to the pill-pusher, he just sheepishly agreed, and set-up an appt. with a surgen. last time i ever saw that quack.

Yes I have all these symptoms! Have been struggling for years. From all the sinus infections I have developed sinus disease(polyps) in my sinus' and have eustachian tube disorder in my ears which can also cause dizziness on top of the sinus disease. I currently have a raging sinus infection, that is how I found this forum. I have allergy sensitivities which can activate sinus problems. I have been prescribes two kinds of nasal sprays to take and they help so much. They keep the swelling and mucus production down in my sinus'. They are Patanase and Nasonex. I also started taking singular again after a year. Good luck!
I too have this vertigo occasionally wherein the world seems to revolve around me accompanied by nausea etc.. I am yet to determine the real reason for this vertigo inspite of getting myself examined by ENT for Meniers' disease, Orthopaedic practitioner for cervical spondilitis etc.. But one good news is that whenever I check my hemoglobin percentage it was less than 10.5 for heavy vertigo and less than 11.5 for slight vertigo and since three years I have been taking Iron supplements with B12 and folic acid to keep up the blood RBC count. I find that if I keep the level of haemoglobin at 12.5 or more I am very energetic too instead of being dull and lethargic in the head. Now that I have seen the sinus angle to the vertigo I would check up on that also to find any problem in this area. However MRI of the head did not reveal any sinus problem for me earlier.
I have had dizziness issues (severe to mild) for nearly 10 years. Docs really don't take it seriously if you can touch your nose with your finger! One doctor suggested muscle spasms in my neck/stiff neck. I take one muscle relaxer before bed at night and it helps, although has not eliminated the problem completely.
ive experience the same, i was wondering if u found out what it was?
I've had this problem too ... for ten years! Well, on and off. The last bout was last falI and I finally tried the nettie pot followed by a Colloidial Silver nasal spray, which finally cleared it up. Felt like my brain was doing sommersalts! No problems since. Look it up. Try it.
Thanks a lot! I'll check on the Colloidal Silver nasal spray. I haven't heard of this before.
I have been through every test and told I have Menaires / Vertigo... NO CRYSTALS ...NO Sinusitis... was told there is NOTHING I can do... NOT to try the ear surgery being it wasn't related to that in my situation... going on 2 yrs .... can't stand it... Take Bonine almost daily. Antivert knocks me out... and these are just things to do AFTER attacks... What is a cure...??
i don't have any of the above..Was told I have Menaires / Vertigo and there is NOOO cure ,, Is this possible
The neck can cause vertigo. I have to do exercises which helps and sometimes take a mild muscle relaxer before bed.
