Hi Everyone,

Happened upon this site.  To all of above.  Chronic sinusitis etc.. is usually a fungal problem aka yeast overgrowth frequently caused by too many antibiotics resulting in an unhealthy colon aka immune system.    He is about knowing the cause and treating it vs. treating the symptoms.  Changing your diet and treating with probiotics are just a couple of things you can do.  Taking antibiotics can cause a lot of problems over the long term so take them only when absolutely necessary.   Take Care and good luck  Be patient because fixing your immune system and changing the way you eat takes a while.

I had the same issues for years. But my main issue was headaches on a daily basis! I even went to neurologist, who did an MRI of my head and neck and didn't find a thing. And yet several years later...I go to eyes, nose and throat doctor because I thought it was a sinus infection that would not go away with antibiotics and she orders a CT Scan and tells me I have a badly deviated septum. She said to find out if the headaches were from that, use nasal spray when I get a headache and if the headache goes away it is definitely because of the septum. Did it..and yes...instant relief! I am still amazed that after all these years, I finally know what the problem is and never would have guessed I had a deviated septum. I am seeing the surgeon next week to talk about getting septoplasty done. Not crazy about surgery, but cannot live with these daily headaches anymore...so will be getting it done. The nasal spray you are not supposed to use for more than 3 days because it is a steroid. So be careful with that. My doctor told me to quit the nasal spray now and use Sudafed every day until surgery. But my advice is to get a CT Scan done. It sounds like you may have a deviated septum as well. Hope this helps.

I had a septoplasty 25 years ago. It did not help, I have headaches every day, carry nose spray in my pocket all the time.

Excedrin Migraine & Sinus Headache seems to help but sometimes I just have to go to bed. About 3 weeks ago I had a head cold, the next week I took a two hour flight and then 8 days later flew back home. I was waking up with a headache every morning and having dizziness following the trip.

Last Friday, I drove from our 210 foot sea level to 1300 foot sea level. I turned into a parking lot and immediately had dizzy spell that resulted in me not being able to see. I held on to the steering wheel and came to a stop. Neither my wife or I knew what had happened - thinking it as a seizure or possibly a stroke. I had traffic blocked behind me and after what seemed to be a couple minutes, I was able to move the vehicle to a safe place but my vision was affected.

My wife drove home that evening and shared this with my PT Daughter-in-law. She preformed the Dix-Hallpike test on me. Once again we recreated the dizzy spell I experienced while driving including briefly losing my eyesight.During the dizziness, my eyes move back and forth rapidly.

I have not had a chance to go to a Doctor, anyone have advice on procedures beside the Dix-Hallpike test to realign crystals?

My son has had an ongoing problem with dizziness and ringing ear and also he feels like his ear is full of water? his head feels blocked and heavey for the last month. He was prescribed stemetil 5mg which kept it under control. He is now off it and the symptoms are still there. His nose is blocked and he believes its all to do with his sinusses and ears. He tried flushing his nose with saline which sort of helped. But he is on the waiting list for sinus surgery???? We will try the steam baths with clove oil and tea tree oil and see if that can help???? I feel for everyone out there who is suffering with this condition.

I had an acute sinus infection, I was so dizzy I could not stand up, I had an MRI that discovered the infection, my doctor put me on Levofloxacin ( 750 mg tablets ) 1 tablet per day for 5 days. The dizzyness is gone!

I had a flu shot then the next day had an acute vertigo attack while driving. Ended up in emerg. They thought it was a stroke or heart attack. Lightheadedness, disorientation , tingling in back of head, head fullness, and ear pressure continued. In less than 2 weeks it became constant disorietnation and lightheadedness with episodes of acute vertigo. Crawling to a sofa and lying down with head sideways immediately gave me relief. I could no longer drive and was near overdosing on gravol to make it through a work day. Sent to ER again. Cat scan revealed acute sinusitis in maxillary sinus cavities. Family doctor , not knowing what to do, gave me Biaxin ( I am allergic to amycillin antibiotic), prednisone and beta histine Hcl ( for meniere and dizziness).

The beta histine tablets are my saving grace. They totally control my acute vertigo attacks. I am on 24 MG twice a day ( I take one in morning and one again 7-8 hours later). I do not have any vertigo when sleeping, only when head is upright for a period of time, so I do not need to take one before bedtime. Recent medical studies ( I am a library reference technician) show that beta histine HCl ( "Serc" tablets) are highly effective for meniere symptoms. Without the beta histine, I would have several full blown acute attacks. a day. I have not had my hearing tested yet
The medical journal articles state that the USA FDA has not yet approved beta histine for meniere's. The drug is used commonly in Canada, European and Asian countries.

I know how debilitating and frustrating this is on everyone.

I had same virtigo for 2 months now , no ear pain , or any pressure in the head , the Doctor gave me some exercises of head to do for virtigo and this did not help but I found some fluid drains on far back end of the nose each time I did virtigo head exercises.

I did not have filled sinuses or mass draining of mucus at all , after reading all the posts and web md I bought a expensive hot and cold ultrasonic sinus allergy helped me to drain on one side of the back end mucus drip ( after I tried all antihistamine claritin , nasal sprays etc) my virtigo on that end was gone when the mucus shifts to the other end I get dizziness light headed walk imbalances etc

I m going back to the doctor again

But I have terrible sinus problems, take Cleriton D every night, No Dr. will give me a script though because of high blood pressure. I really love my Cleriton D. I awake without fever and feeling all yuky. But this problem has just started and I haven' taken my D in a couple of weeks just to see?
