I am 5 ft and 95 lbs and ive always had a flat stomach until recently. Now it is always bloated (but there doesnt seem to be any fat there, its hard) and i look pregnant! I don't eat any wheat, processed carbs, diary, or added sugar , i exercise and I still have this problem! I'm going to do a three day juice fast and see if that helps.
I am the exact same. I am considered thin. I can wake up with a flat stomach and after eating food or even having a glass of water, my stomach instantly expands like i am 3 months pregnant. It expands so big, and it feels tight. I also get severe gas sometimes. I don't know what to do? I've read about wheat intolerance, insufficient protein intake, etc etc I don't even know where to start?
my stomach is very bloated aswell.im 5'2 and weigh 99 lbs.but it hasnt always been that way.my stomach was always very flat! but i noticed about a year and a half ago that it was sticking out more and more.and sometimes when i lay down to go to sleep at night,i start burping and cant stop.sometimes i have actually burped for more than an hour,when i wake up in the morning my stomach is completely flat again but throughout the day i notice it sticking out again.i read an article that said it could be a hiatal hernia,i am going to make a dr appointment to have this checked,i will give an update after i find out.
Hey there!! just replying about your protruding tummy, yet very thin frame. I am like you aswell, except 20 lbs heavier and 5'8"... You need to work on the abdominal muscles in your tummy, and that will pull your tummy back. Also make sure to work the same area except on the back (the small of the back). Right now when you eat, your tummy muscles are not toned enough to prevent the sag. Exercising on the treadmil is not enough, you have to do major crunches.
Well, I'm not a doctor but I do observe my body and what's going on especially since I'm getting older! LOL I have been working out for years and the past few I haven't. So, I started back up last year and noticed my pain came back and I was diagnosed with a hernia as described here. Well, I stop lifting then it went away THEN, I started again and every time I work out, my stomach comes out. Well, I guess it's time to get this hernia fixed? Can it get worse that I need to worry or do I stop working out once in a while and start wen I feel better?

i work out every day so i know that all that weight comes from muscle. my whole body is super toned and nice and lean but when it comes to my stomach i am beyond bloated, and i work on my core section the MOST. and i can do workouts for the abs that almost no one else can but my stomach still sticks out.

A lot people just get "protruding gut syndrome" I'm not a doctor but this happens a lot in the bodybuilding world. The stabilizing muscles that are supposed to hold your gut in weaken. You most likely have "some" visceral fat under the muscle wall. But a sedentary lifestyle can have that effect on your posture. There is an exercise called "vaccums" where you exhale and suck your stomach in for 30 seconds at a time. Dont push it back out afterwards. I've noticed an ab wheel really works well on that area. That is a lawnmower wheel with a handle on both sides. they're pretty cheap.
Im 5'4 and am only 117ish LBs.. I have always been skinny and very strong, even though ima girl. I have always been eating lots of food cuz it doesn't affect me at all.. i use to wake up with my stomach being sooooo thin and when i ate itd be just normal stomach.. but the past 2 weeks or a week its all changed! and its freaking me out so much because its been such a huge change in my body. i look pregnant after i eat, no matter what it is . and when i try to grab my stomach skin/fat.. its the same as before so i know i haven't gotten fat but its just been hard and huge! o.O o.O o.O Im so sick of it and im going to the clinic tomorrow but they'll probably end up telling some BS random thing as they do with everything else too. I neeeeed help :-( I want it to like disappear NOW!

But right now I've been eating very sensibly, small meals every few hours, I drink alot of water.
I cannot suck in my stomach though, I used to be able to a few months ago. My ab muscles are fairly strong. I do crunches, 100-200 a night, every few days, And 10-15 pushups on the other days.
Here's the part that worries me.
I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend last week, couple times a day every day for that week. He pulled out, but i know there's a possibility I could be pregnant.
My lower belly is swollen slightly, it doesn't go flat like normal when I lay down. I'm noticing slight weight gain too.
My diet has not changed, nor has my exercising routines.
My lower back/hips are also sore.
I know this probably should go into the pregnant topics but its kind of a toss up between the two.
I've also been known to have a very sensitive stomach, on the inside, and when people touch my stomach I flinch because its so sensitive.

ok so im having a lot of the symptoms that have already been posted. like the bloated feeling tummy. i wasnt eating all the well just a little while ago, i guess it could b annorexic but i didnt think i went that far...i caught it before it got worse but then i started going to the gym and eating properly and i worked on my abs for two days and its been about 4-5 days and my tummy is still bloated from day 2. it hurts and i dont feel like i want to eat or i might be sick but when i do eat im not sick. it also feels as tho if i go to the washroom that it may relieve the bloatedness but it doesnt. again i dont eat alot of protein hence why i have a protein shake (and need to drink it way more often then i do). it looks as tho im pregnant but im not. since the bloating started i gained 5 pounds over 5 days...but it was instant (two different scales were used)...does anyone have an idea of what i can do to stop my tummy from feeling and looking like this? its stressful when you dont know what it is and it hurts. %-)

I have recently recovered (pretty much :-) ) from anorexia as well. I'm 5'10" and about 134lbs. I also experienced bloating like this, particularly when i first started eating again but also while i was really sick. I don't get it that much anymore...I think it may have to do with your body just not getting enough food so it reacts differently, but that is just a guess...Because when i was really really underweight and my body was starving, eating the smallest bit of food (and then purging) would make me bloated. During recovery i was very bloated and very gassy...I think because my stomach had shrunk a lot and now as it was being filled, it was pressing on different tracts in my stomach. That's how it felt, anyways.
And to those of you recovering from an eating disorder, DON'T FREAK OUT WHEN THE WEIGHT SEEMS TO ALL GO TO YOUR STOMACH. That happened to me too. But it actually does distribute itself eventually! It's been less than a year since I started recovering (I was admitted to the hospital in september 2008) and I already have a pretty nice stomach; the weight has moved to my butt and boobs! Yay :-)...hehe. And recovery is such a great thing. Don't give it up because life is so much more than the ED. Good luck!

this has been going on for about 6 months and its been getting worse. i am 15 years old about 5'5 and 119 pounds or so. i'm not incredibly thin but i am thin and am in good shape and work out a lot. i eat extremely healthy due to a a blood sugar issue and don't eat anything with sugar or white flour in it. for the first month or so i had a lot of diarrhea but we figured it was just because it was such a high fiber diet. then i noticed that towards the end of the day i would get sort of bloated but i would go to sleep and wake up and it would be gone and my stomach was flat again. about 2 months or so later it started getting worse. i would still be bloated when i woke up and would be constantly bloated, meaning absolutely no relief, for five days and then on the weekends it would be gone. it was frustrating but at least i had relief on the weekend. NOW i am constantly bloated all the time. i know its bloating because i can literally push on my stomach and hear and feel the gas moving around and it hurts like heck!! i continue to workout and eat extremely healthy and its not getting any better. its not fat because its the same amount of fat thats always on my belly when i pinch it, it just feels like the insides of my stomach are pushing out and its very uncomfortable. i have never been anorexic but after being bloated for two weeks without any relief i started skipping meals here and there or just eating less. the doctor has given me some bloating pills that did absolutely nothing but make one pupil dilate more than the other which scared the c**p out of my mom. the gi doctor said that it was because i was chewing sugar free gum which has sorbitol in it which causes bloating so i stopped eating anything with sorbitol in it, that didn't help. i've been taking probiotics for about 3 weeks and the gi doctor warned me it would make me a little bloated for a few days which meant it was working but its been 3 weeks and i'm still bloated. i'm getting a colonoscopy on thursday of next week and have been told to take milk of magnesia two times a day because i hadn't had a bowel movement in 3 days. now i'm pooping like crazy and its uncontrollable and yet still...i'm bloated which i don't understand how that's possible because i'm barely eating anything and anything that i do eat just goes right through me because of the laxatives. this is driving me crazy and i'm really tired of living with it. it's embarassing and i just want to be me again. i'm cranky and have low self esteem because of this. its not stress, we had thought it was for a while but i've missed school for this because the pain was so intense at one point. my stomach is extremely distended and i'm so done with this i just want an answer!!!
I have the same problem...24..5'2 113lbs and always look 3 months pregnant!!! I dont know what it is, it has been like that as long as i can remember, and its starting to bother me. I cant where tight shirts without looking down and feeling gross..I don't know what to do!!
