I also have had this procedure in June 2010 for non stop periods and still bleed heavily non stop for six months after the op then my heavy periods stop and have not been back but I suffer from incredible hard bloating after eating or drinking and have put on a lot of belly weight which won't shift and my eating habits have not changed if anything I eat much less then before the op.

I had my procedure done in December of 2014 and I also have gaimed about 15 pounds in 4 months. I am not happy about this. I did my reseach and they do not say anything about gaining weight after the procedure, Im extremely upset over this. Doctor's should inform us that there is  a possability of gain weight after is procedure.

I also had this done in 2007. Before the surgery I was only 120 pounds. About two months after the surgery I started to gain weight. I worked out at the gym , I work a. Full time job and I'm on my feet all day and I can not lose one pound. I have tried dieting, I've tried just eating healthy and no weight loss.I gained 50 pounds total and after 8 years I still weigh the same. I do not recommend this procedure.

I've read through so many comments on this page and the common denominator is most people are in peri or menopausal age group. A normal side effect of starting menopause is weight gain. It is our hormones and we need to accept that. I also don't agree with allowing anything done to me that is not necessary. Doctors today don't tell us the long term side effects because they are only interested in coming up with a solution for now. Its sad to read all these stories but remember that life is more important than having the body of a 21 year old. My logic is that if you do choose to do anything to your body, your body will always have a way of adapting to the change. Perhaps its your body's way of protecting itself from more damage. it sees the procedure as damage and therefore allows weight gain to protect that tissue around it. Sorry girls.

Omg. I feel like it’s me talking. I felt so alone and couldn’t find a reason why I gained this weight. It has been slowly killing me. Perhaps we can text and talk.

I have gained over 20 lbs since my ablation surgery and I understand that the surgery disrupts hormones, but my didn't work. I still have my menstrual cycle. How to stop gaining weight?

I had balloon ablation done about 6 years ago, and was wondering if I can get pregnant? I still get normal periods and bleed for 5 to 7 days.
