I have a vaginal hysterectomy coming up next month April 6, 2017. I am 58. I had 6 children. I was referred to a specialist doctor. My doctor advised I had a large left Bartholin's cyst. After seeing a specialist she advised not only did I have this but my uterus had collapsed bumping next to my bladder and poo bag. Although all this has happened to me I'm not feeling in any pain. It's just annoying knowing I have this lumps bulging from my vagina. After 45 mins of discussion on a vaginal hysterectomy and other matters I was happy to go ahead with the operation. She did not print a pretty picture for my op as I mentioned I have other things going on down below as well. The last time I was in hospital was with my last child. I have always kept relatively healthy an fit. I don't take any medication what so ever. I do take woman's multi vitamins every day. Apparently I will be staying in hospital for 3 days and recovering at home 6 weeks. I am a little afraid. I did notice that some of you beautiful ladies are younger here. I feel my recovery may take a little longer because I'm older. I have always been a workaholic I hope to be a good patient for my husband and family who will be helping me at home. I know I'm going to miss my work :)

I am having a vaginal (hopefully) hysterectomy in a couple of weeks because of multiple fibroids, an enlarged uterus (said it feels/looks like I am 16 weeks pg), severe anemia and apparently a prolapsed uterus. I had no idea about my uterus being prolapsed until the surgeon was doing the preop exam. He says there is only about an inch to go through my vagina to get to my uterus. He told me it is all the fibroids pressing down and making it heavy along with the stress of a vaginal twin delivery 14 years ago. I hope your surgery goes well and you get some relief!

I am 63 and 1 week postop complete hysterectomy, mine was done with the Divincy robotics.
I had severe uterine prolapse (where the uterus litterly hangs out of the body) making going to the bathroom very difficult. My operation was very successful and am recovering really well, didn't have to stay overnight in the hospital. The doctor has given me limitations for 6 weeks, I was courious of how much my organs weighed also. I haven't weighed myself yet but that might be next step. Good luck to those just getting surgery, I do have 4 small incisions that are healing, but my pain is now very minimal, as long as I don't overdo.

I recently had a hysterectomy leaving 1 ovary for hormones...I have lost weight due to cyst removed and fibroids removed...about 15 lbs so far and feel good:) My appetite decreased init but have my appetite back and cannot drive for awhile so as I am not driving to go to fast food places near me and my sister takes me shopping I have gotten healthy foods like chicken, green beans, salad, green tea etc. Feeling better now though thank the Lord.

My only problem, or concern is that I am just draining all the time. I don't feel the urge to pee, I just let it go evefytime i stand up or move. I hope this all stops soon, I don't want to wear depends all the time!! Has anyone else had this problem?
