Get a second opinion if you are not happy about you're dr decision then decide
Well you 3 are very lucky. I had a full hysterectomy and I gained 70lbs in 6 months, 90lbs overall. I’ve now finally lost 104lbs but the last 50+ of them were too quick and the Drs trying to figure out what’s going on with me. All I can say is you all were very lucky for not gaining I’m not sure if you had your ovaries out or not but that makes a huge difference... That changes your entire metabolism! I would of put up with the endometriosis if I New I was going to put on all that weight. I’m 5’10” I was a size 8 before the surgery and went to a size 20/22 and 234lbs now I’m a size 0/2 and I weigh 130, which is obviously, way too thin for my build. All I can advice to someone that’s been recommended to have a hysterectomy, find out if you can have it but keep your ovaries. Your results and recovery will be much easier. You’ll keep the weight off, you won’t be depressed or ashamed of the weight gain, especially to your kids. It was a nightmare and I was so angry when it came out years later that endometriosis patients don’t need to have their ovaries taken out, so question it!!!
I'm just now seeing this a year later but, your sex should be better!!! Like 10x more sensitive ( your body parts by touching them )...... Well let me know if I was right....Have a good life!
Unfortunately hysterectomy will effect your sex . Lost of sensitivity, vaginal dryness, and if they remove your cervix you will have shorter vagina, no cervical pleasure during sex .
Hey their.. I had my surgery 4 weeks ago. Started going back to work for partial days last week. Since my surgery I've lost 10 pounds and I hope to loose more!
I had a huge ovarian tumor removed size of a small turkey , full hysterectomy , lymph nodes and appendix removed . I have lost 23 pounds in 17 days . Tired , sore , little desire to eat . Gas at times which is as painful as labor pains . I have chest pains when I wake up probably from lying and sitting so much . This is way harder than delivering my 3 children by natural childbirth . I am 57. I am 2 and a half weeks post op and would say slowing improving . Can't do much yet . When they say you need 6-8 weeks I can see that's true . I have a long way to go .
I had my hysterectomy 7 weeks ago.... complete including cervix through vagina. I’ve lost 15 pounds and haven’t done anything to try to loose weight. I didn’t have any tumors, I had some ivarian cysts and I was continuously bleeding post menopause, which was the reason for my hysterectomy. I too thought I would gain weight. feel great for the most part. Glad to not be bleeding anymore.
Amen
God Bless

Hi, My name is Karen and it will be almost one week this Monday, that i had my full hysterectomy. I feel so , so good. I can concur with so many of you that weight loss comes almost immediately. I too am experiencing loss of appetite and I get full fast. But this feels good at the same time because I am putting such healthy food into my body,. I feel like I have this surge of energy and my mind isn't cloudy and dark. I feel clear and hopeful. For years I have been suffering and I thought I was going insane. My GOD! I am so happy and looking forward to live. God Bless every single one of you my sisters. Don't be scared. If you are having doubts about this surgery, end it. My Best,
One more thing ladies, I have found it very comforting while during the healing process is to wear a comfortable very fitting girdle. Wear a regular pair of cotton undies underneath the girdle. It just holds you firm and helps with abdominal healing.
Any update since surgery as to gain?
I am also one week post op and I LOVE your description of the feeling! No more cloudy, unclear feelings in my head! It actually makes me want to be healthy because for once.... I feel healthy!
Don’t believe all of the bad hype!

How did your recovery and weight go post surgery?
I had a standard hysterectomy in sept 2018, its now the beginning of Feb. ive lost weight. what is the problem u ask? well I was 97ls at time of the surgery. I feel like my hormones are messed up, Im guessing its possible since I still have my ovaries. I break out a lot, iused to break out a lil bit the week before my period. I still do now but way worse & a lot on the regular. I can put any weight on & im 87 lbs now. I don't know if its the hysterectomy for sure but nothing in my life style has changed except THAT
well do that mean its normal to lose wait
