I'm feeling so much better and no more frightening kicky feeling.
wat u need is to relax and get the drs ok :-)
I also had a lot of gut noise (borborygmus; growling) which tells me that there were peristaltic movements going on. I was fasting from waking time to sundown as part of Lent observations, and hadn't eaten since my late dinner the previous evening; thus, I was pretty hungry at the time. The sensation and lump lasted for about 2 hours. I laid down for a short nap as I usually do in the afternoon, and when I got up, I had a big episode of gas/ flatulence (one big loud "ripper"). No more lump after that, no more kicks, nothing.
I wonder if the sensation and even lumps (especially in those of us who are thinner than average, who can see and feel such things more readily than a meatier person can) is caused by a large volume of swallowed or liberated air that gets trapped, and then eventually it makes its way out in the form of a belch or a "toot" (flatulence). Trapped air can cause the intestines to become distended, and a particularly large bubble might be enough to puff things up to the point of causing a palpable or visible "lump" in someone who isn't very fleshy. The normal peristaltic movements on the gas bubble might also explain the kicking feeling, if the bubble is temporarily stuck in one location. Think about gently pushing a water balloon with your hand... not hard enough to make the balloon roll away, but enough to make it jiggle-- or take a partially inflated balloon in your hand and give it a squeeze, then loosen the grip and see what happens. The air in the balloon will move to an area away from your hand, then snap back as soon as you relax your grip. Your squeezing hand represents a peristaltic wave; the balloon is a trapped air bubble.
Just a theory!
I'm just going to watch this for a bit and see if I detect a pattern.
Umm....Im a 14 year old male. Same symptoms, no anxiety no meds. Just curious if i need to go to a docctor or not. It goes from a fluttering sensation to somewhat of a beating. I am really skinny, but the beating is way out of tandum with my heart and its even sometimes goes into a mad gurgling like someone is boiling my spleen. Should I go to the doctor?
This may not be the case for everyone, but for some, it may simply be a muscular thing related to the back. I recently got more and more frequent weird feelings in and around the intestines then realised it was probably due to the fact id been sitting on computer alot latley. Ive started doing some stretches and back massages and the feelings seem to be going away. Often the simplest explination is the correct one. Just get off the computer and excercise more.:-D ...otherwise see a doc.
