Hi all sorry if this goes in wronng section but here goes the sensation you are all describing I know all too well but can anyone else create this sensation at will i.e. without some kind of audio/visual input jsut ive been searching the web and cant find anyone else that mentions this topic who says they can also do it at will.ps if you anyone responding can do it at will can you also target this feeling in specific areas of your body always starts from the head but then i can send it to say a foot or a hand anywhere really or even full body your responses would be most helpful thanks
Hi Jenny and others: For me it started many years ago with humming leading to in-out purring leading to discovering that the areas around my facial orifices are very sensitive to touch - probably everyone's are inasmuch as our bodies don't like little buzzy creatures entering our nose, mouth or eyes, for example.
My most recent discovery is what I call 'the Nose Buzz," although along the lines of humming,
purring, motorboating the lips, the Razzberry (Bronx Cheer) and the homegrown toys, the Thwizzler, the Donkey
Gruntler, The Thwisher and other body-mind favorites.
I developed the Nose Buzz after searching on line and finding this in response to suggestions on how to trigger a sneeze:
“The easiest way is to put the tips of your fingers over your nostrils and hum, allowing just enough air to escape so that
you can keep humming. Your nose will buzz and that makes you sneeze. Hope I helped!”
This is very close to the Nose Buzz description that follows. It’s the ONLY thing I know that’s shudderingly THE most
bliss-inducing to the point of putting my whole body into spasms of knee-knocking delight. So obviously pick a safe place
to sit, and don't do it while driving, etc. Then:
Place the tips of the thumb and forefinger over the openings of the nostrils such as to block them completely. Start
humming through the nose and then loosen the fingertips enough to allow some air to escape. Move the fingertips around
until you begin to trigger an intense vibration that tingles up your nose, over your head and down your back. It may take
some adjustment of the fingertips until you get it right.
Congratulations!
I think you’ve just stimulated the subtle nerves known in yoga as the Ida and Pingala. Or at least I think that’s what’s
happening. Also -- it's a great way to trigger a sneeze!

I just uploaded a 7-minute demo of both ‘The Nose Buzz’ described above and also how to achieve knee-knocking bliss my lightly touching the facial nerves.

Someone asked if anyone can trigger this at will.
I can definitely trigger this just about any time I want, and I often do it as a bit of a stress reliever or pleasurable sensation break. I've gotten to the point where I can trigger it every minute or two for pretty much as long as I want to generate the triggers, though forcing it for extended periods sometimes causes the headaches others have reported.
For me, the simplest trigger is slightly shifting my neck or head when wearing a collared shirt. The slight brush against the hairs on the back of my neck trigger this easily, but it requires carefully stopping at just the right spot, just after the sensation first begins. If I move too far or too fast, the feeling never really starts, or stops before it gets going well.
Another trigger is purely caused by thoughts, sort of a mental isometric exercise. I start out thinking about a concept or feeling, then once the tingle feeling starts, I have to balance it with an alternating countering thought to get the wave going and to propagate it.
Music and art can trigger a brief sensation, but to really get it to propagate in waves, I have to think more deeply about the meaning or balance the visual or auditory concept with an associated or opposing thought. It also happens frequently with inspirational messages or stimulating conversations, but sometimes with these triggers, it's hard to create the balancing thoughts to keep the wave going.
I just found an article about this today that led me to this discussion. I'm sort of blown away that everyone doesn't feel this sensation. I just sort of assumed everyone did.
Don't know if I'm pleased to be a member of a quite select club or if I want to go back to thinking this weird liking for random occurrences was exclusively a 'me' thing.
Yes, the pattern of some elderly peoples' conversation; especially a Greek lady I used to visit. Yes to clunky bracelets, love love love QVC and Lola Rose demos!.
Still dont think I'm ready to talk about it to anyone, even though my earliest memory is of a friend flicking through a heavy clothing catalogue, I was in a sleepy trancelike state until so rudely asked 'well, which one then?'
Only happens to me perhaps a dozen times a year, I don't think I want to court it by watching niche videos though
I'm trying to reach someone in this community. I am currently on disability as a result of Anxiety/Depression and PTSD as a result of a trauma. I stumbled upon AS MR trying to find something to help me sleep. I have found so much more! If you would like a subject to study for any scientific research I am making my self available. Thanks!

This is the sensation you're feeling. I always wondered the same thing, exp pretending this at a very young age and still to this day when someone reads to me, draws on me/draws or paints me, plays with my hair.
