Hi, I just had a natural miscarriage at about 8 weeks last week. While I was at the hospital emergency room, I was given an ultrasound that showed no remaining tissue left and was told that the bleeding would stop at the latest in 48 hours. I was still bleeding heavily 5 days past that timeline. By then I was worried about a possible infection so I thought to seek help from a homeopathy therapist. I was recommended to take phosphorus that has some very important properties and can help with any kind of internal bleeding, post-operative or not. So, I took it only once, and the very next day the bleeding seemed to be slowing down significantly. Since then it almost completely disappeared except for very little spotting. I realize everyone is different but I think it is still worth a try...

My doctor told me after having a natural miscarriage (Feb. 2009)and bleeding for about 2-3 weeks straight, that I should wait about 3 months before trying for another pregnancy. That will give my body time to get back on it's schedule and get my hormones balanced again. I asked him when my period would be normal again and he said give it 3 months. He couldn't give me a set date.

It's so sad to read all these posts, and if this was about men with erectile issues, all the answers would be here. Why are women still not given the support and answers we need to survive things like this? I've had 2 miscarriages and only 2 pregnancies. I've been bleeding abnormally for the past month and just found out yesterday that I have a thick uterus wall. The doctor said my miscarriage last year might have played a part. I'm taking a progesterone pill that is supposed to have the same affect as a D&C. If it doesn't work, I'll be having the procedure done. Now I'm just afraid to see how much bleeding and pain I may have to go through in the next 10 days with this medication. I wasn't told at the hospital.

I had my fourth miscarriage, one was ectopic...my husband and I didn't know if I could even concieve a child because It had taken us almost 2 yrs. The worst part was that this pregnancy was filled with anxiety, the obgyn I was given by Access health's Associates, wouldn't see me until 3 wks after I called them. I explained that I was a high risk pregnancy, they didn't care. I had to call 5 times that day to try to get prenatals called in, finally on the fifth call and yelling at the nurse of a different obgyn she called them in. when I went to the hospital after starting to bleed, the hospital staff was very rude, they were put off when i started yelling at them and my husband threatened to sue. It has been an absolute nightmare! why is it that members of a medical community care so little about the welfare of people. I dont want to hear about how they are so overworked, that is no excuse! IF the work is too hard then get the heck out of the business!!! It is traumatic sitting crying and cramping in a room filled with strangers while you bleed all over yourself!!!! This countrys medical personnel need to re-evaluate themselves their actions and their treatment of pregnant women...if it weren't for mothers then there wouldn't be any people to treat.

hello. I'm 20 years old and my husband and i tried for a while to have a baby. I got pregnant and we were soooo excited but then 2 months later. Oct. 12 I had a miscarraige. Its been happening for 5 days now and I'm so tired and sad and alone and I just want to hold my baby that I will never have. I'm still bleeding really heavily. I'm sorry to all of you that have to go through this all of you that have and all of you that will. My heart and my prayers go out to you. What keeps me going is knowing that when I die and go to heaven that my baby will be there waiting for me. It gives me something to work for. Something to look forward to.

I ust had my first miscarriage. The doctor told me that the baby stopped growing at 5 weeks...but we saw a faint heartbeat at my 2nd ultrasound. At the 3rd U.S.-there was no heartbeat. That day, my gynecologist confirmed that I was miscarrying. Since I was so early, they stated that it wouldn't be much tissue so therefore I decided to go with naturally passing it.
The bleeding started on October 2nd, very early in the morning, like 4am. The cramping/ bleeding was unbelievable. I actually called my gyn on 10/3 to ask if I was bleeding too much. The doctor stated that if I went through more than one pad an hour, then it was too much. I started taking 3 motrins at a time on 10/3 to ease the cramps. That day, my boyfriend and I drove about an hour away to meet my parents and I had bled through a super tampon. At times, the blood was gushing plus there was a lot of clots. The cramps only last about a week total as well as the super heavy, gushing blood. Not sure when I passed the sac because there were a lot of clots.
Now, it's 10/26 and I'm still bleeding. I am not bleeding that heavy but it's still there. I am hoping that this will end soon.

As for how I have been dealing with it...it really depends on the day/ time. Thank god my boyfriend is there for me...he's been amazing! plus I see a psychologist regularly and am on anti-depressants (this was the case before the miscarriage but it does help!) I'm not sure if we'll try again right away as I feel like I need to let myself heal emotionally and since I'm still bleeding, it feels like the most drawn out process!

I am so sorry for the other women on here that have miscarried as well...I know what you're going through and it's awful!

I just had a miscarriage on Monday, its now Thursday, I am still cramping, bleeding heavily, and clotting. I get worried time to time because I am not sure if I am bleeding too much or not. My doctor wont bring me in, just keeps telling me to wait till Tuesday to get my blood work done again. I'm frustrated and want someone to sit me down and tell me I am OK and I did miscarry. They need a better protocol for women who have miscarriages. Anyway, I tried going to work last night and had to leave after an hour because I started cramping and bleeding heavily again. I was only 5 weeks pregnant and it feels like this will never end. I am blessed to have a 19month old daughter but still grieve the loss of this baby. The worst is because my husband and I were so excited. As of now, we don't know when we will try again. Soon I hope. I hope everyone has gotten through their struggle.

I had a bilighted ovum which means my baby stopped growing inside me at 12 weeks. I was prescribed medication to induce labor so I could go through the miscarriage naturally. I passed the miscarriage on November 20, 2010 and was going back and forth to the doctor for ultrasound and blood tests and confirmed all normal. Today January 31st, towards my end of my 1st period after my misscarriage I was working and felt a huge gush in my chair, pooring down my legs and in less than a minute I had a LARGE puddle of blood underneath my chair. I was phasing in and out and was taken en abulance to the hospital still gushing along the way, lost at least half a gallon of blood, body soaked in blood, smell of blood filled the ambulance and the ER room. I needed blood transfusion but am home now. HAS ANYONE GONE THROUGH THIS BEFORE? I don't even think this was related to my misscarriage but the doctor says my HCG level was at 20 and should be zero. This is crazy because I know for a fact that I'm not pregnant again. I'm so scared I'd go through this again.

I had a miscariage end of november. I had no dnc and the doctors never did a repeat ultrasound like they were supposed to. They pushed me into getting the depo shot. I had that two days after my miscarriage and i have been bleeding ever sice its been four months, It hurts when i have sex i have been having really bad pains that having making my hunch over. I talked to my doctor about it her only concern was me going on birth control agian. Is this normal to still be bleeding and having pains?

Aaaaye, I'm sorry you are going through this. I've had depo shot too in the past and was bleeding for over 6 months. Depo shot is not for every one and if you have been bleeding that that long, I'd probably advise you to get on the pill instead beacause that was what i did to stop bleeding. It took a little over a month after I started the pills to get me to stop bleeding. After a miscarriage, to be sure that you are completely over it, you need to get your hcg levels checked several times to make sure you have passed every thing. I was hurting too for for a few months after my miscarriage. I'm only telling you according my experience but everyones body is different. You take care.

In order to find out if your miscarriage is complete, you'll want to get a weekly blood draw to check your hcg level. It should go down as you pass the tissues and clots. If your hcg level is not going down significantly, your doctor can prescribe you pills to take to help you pass, and if that fails, a d&c should take care of it. D&C should always be the last as option as the risk of damaging your uterus is always a possibility and may create difficulty carrying in the future. I'm very sorry for your lost. I know how you feel as I've gone down the same road. Take care.

I had a miscarriage last week.  It was my first pregnancy and i was 11 weeks.  I passed most all blood clots and lots of heavy bleeding in two days but have had some bleeding since (it has been a week) but it is very light.  A couple things that I believe have helped speed up the healing process is drinking lots of red raspberry tea.  It is very good for cleansing and strengthening the uterus.  Other natural remedies are drinking ginger tea and dandelion tea (which tastes bad but is very cleansing).  I have also been eating lots of red raspberries too. This is what a midwife recommended to me and it seems to have helped my recovery after my natural miscarriage.
