iv been researching on this becouse i have one to.from what iv seen and heard its nothing to be concerned about and should go away after a while.
It is nothing serious. It is simply too much fungal buildup in between your taste buds. Too much sugar intake can cause this as well as stress, smoking, local trauma (such as rubbing on rough tooth, etc). :-)
I've never had these before, but the other morning I woke up with them on both sides of my tounge, I do suffer from heartburn and before that particular morning, I drank so much booze, that anything I ate gave me instant heart burn, no matter how much medication I took, wicked burning heartburn. In the past I've had heartburn so bad that even my bowl movements were almost white in color, and now the are very light in color, I've had lots of heartburn since i woke up with the bumps the other day. although, i have had a sniffle for a couple of weeks now, i believe the bumps started from getting boozed up and messing up my stomach. that's just my 2 cents tho...
I haven't heard anything bad about these although I have had them without drinking. I think that it's some sort of cold sore or something like that as best I can tell. If it lasts for longer than a few days though ask a doctor about it. It could be something more serious. What do you think?
can we get a answer already?! i got dis too way in da back nearly under my tounge but on da side. its hurts to do anythin wit it including eating drinking even sumtimes talkn... its my 3rd day nd it still hurts
I had a mildly painful white bump on the tip of my tongue today. I've had this once or maybe twice in memory. No idea how it is/was caused. I "popped" it, as one would a white-head, and it immediately began to bleed a bit.
It has been about 5 hours since I did that. The pain is almost completely gone, though the tip of my tongue is slightly red, with some loose (and white, I assume because of lack of blood in tissue) skin. I did not notice any "pus" or fluid (though it may have been too small for me to notice such a secretion, were it present, and my mouth is unavoidably moist :-) ).
Same thing happened last time I had this, was completely gone next day.
No idea what this is! This seems to be the largest collection of first-hand reports on the condition on the internet though..huh..

the best thing to do is put salt on it and push your tounge to the top of your mouth until you feel a little bit over burning...burning will stop and the bump will be gone.
i have this lil white bump too now..not soo painful...lasts for like 1 week some times 2 and then it goes away..i have brace and i think it happens when the wires pull one lil taste bud by mistake and it swells up cause its hurt....however its feels like a lil peice of food- like a tiny crumb of peanuts moving in my mouth as my tongue moves. 8-|
I went to the doc for mine n he said it was some sort of ulcer from biting ur tounge or something poking into the tounge like nacho chips or something. He gave me a prescription which ended up bein over the counter and told me to apply it to my tounge where the bump is three times a day. It's pretty much like oragel somewhat but it numbs the pain and my swelling has gone down since then. Although I was told if bumps like this do not heal themselves n three weeksu should go to the doctor because it might be cancer.
did anyone eat a girl out? I did and now I have these symtoms. I had one on the left of my tounge and as soon as it went away another one popped out on the left. its like a puffy pump witha white tip
DON'T PICK AT IT, SILLY PEOPLE! Why would you want to risk doing ANYTHING to your tongue???
Go to the drug store and get yourself something like Bonjela of Kenalog. It's an ulcer gel that will heal AND numb that area.

that sounds exactly like what i woe up with this morning! Its red puffy and white at the tip right??? but its not at the tip like other say... its almost under my tounge on the right side... it doesnt hurt or anything but its annoying.. ive been googeling it for a while now but im not sure what it is or how i got it... if u find anything out please post and let me know!
Mine's 3rd day. I googled about it. It was as painful as hell just now. I couldn't eat much nor can I talk. I drank LOADS of water, it isn't painful anymore, but the bump is still here.
My friend googled for me, and she got this webpage. And it's the best webpage I saw so far.
It's called Canker Sores.
