your taste buds have a life span of approximately 10 days you will get another taste bud in it's place. How do you think people are able to burn their tongue on hot drinks and be able to taste again in less than a week later?
hi! i know that cutting taste buds are not hurts. But still cutting them might make your sense taste go away. so, the best is you have to eat things normal and then you will be fine and healthy. also if you have problem on not growing up or have acne or head and stomach hurtness, the best way to get rid of them is to excercise, not too much junk food and always think abaut goog things on your mind :)
I am here because I've had two of these in just one week. I think got them from eating the lemon slices after drinking lemon water then possibly the moderately spicy tacos didn't help. Left them alone, rinsed with mouthwash before bed and after about 36 hours they go away. I'd rather keep all my tastebuds thank you! :)

Hi guys I have this also I can't stop doing stuff to it just leave it alone ok I'm trying yo do that cure it ok
I just started having these recently and as soon as one goes away, another appears in another place. Sometimes my lips feel burny, too. It's only been going on about 2 weeks. The way I've worked with them is mouth cleanliness first. I brush my teeth and use Listerine mouth wash (something I rarely use) and put a product from the pharmacy called Glyoxide on the spot and surrounding tongue. It's glycerine, which is sticky and hold the product in place, mixed with peroxide. I also take an aspirin product for the discomfort and try to be conscious of not letting the spot rub on my teeth by focusing on keeping my tongue relaxed while it heals. I do a few more things to round out the treatment - I get on a multi vitamin along with extra B and C. I am very lazy about taking vitamins, but step it up when there's a problem like this. Now that I have a 3rd swollen tastebud, I'm adding in a strong, probiotic capsule to my daily regimen and may try no-sugar yogurt, too. In the evening, while watching TV, sip on ice water. I feel some of these treatments help the healing, other's help the comfort and the inflamation is over in about 48 hours. The things that concern me most are that poor nutrition or yeast issues can cause periodic events, so I have decided to attack the problem from those angles. They do seem to go away pretty fast. Hope this helps others dealing with this.
This happened to me after chewing cinnamon gum, too.
I get these too, and previously just put up with them until they went away. I never thought of cutting them off before. Thanks for the tips, I will definitely try it next time.
I would like to know what the medical term for these white bumps is, and what the clinical opinion is as to their cause.
yes i too have had this issue many many times they have gottne so painful that i have a special clipper set JUST for them and i clean them after use BUT i found it also helps NOT to scratch them against your teeth and to eat ice chips however i agree that hte BESt i found was to clip them suckers right off.. .sometimes it is more painful than others depending on how bad it was... took long to wait them out... yup mine acted up right after eating lays salty ass chips... i am changing to a lower salted variety after these go away i think them being over irritated or even salt burned
I recently came down with a cold and have been popping cough drops. I believe this is what cause my inflamed taste bud as I read on here that other people think this could have caused theirs too. I have also seen cinnamon, but I have not had any of that. I have had an inflamed taste bud before, but this time I googled it and saw this board. I just went in the bathroom and clipped it of with a nail clipper as other people suggested. Can't believe I did it, but I couldn't stand it anymore! It hurt for a second, bled just a bit, and is feeling better now and it has been just a few minutes. I would suggest this to anyone. Glad I did it! Hope this helps someone else, too. Good luck!
I experience this too and used nail clippers to clip them off. the pain disappeared instantly. You have to wait till they are large enough to ensure you clip the right one. Otherwise your tongue will bleed. Works great!
I have the exact same thing. Mine hurts very bad and I had it for a couple of days now. Can someone please tell me how to get rid of it ????
I have read this post as well as the previous suggesting "cutting" them off. I Have tried ALL of the methods listed on this page and can very honestly say that YES, cutting it off with a small pair of fingernail clippers DOES work. Sanitize the clippers, single out the trouble taste bud, and pinch as quick as you can. Yes it does hurt, but only a quick pinch and it's over. Yes it does bleed, but only for a few seconds and VERY little. Then the pain goes away all together once it's gone. I have now done this MANY times and just did it a few seconds ago. Yes, it's always good to suggest seeing a doctor, but seriously, do not let this guy scare you away from this method. It's almost instant relief. Trust me, you'll thank me later
