I am 29 and have had a very fast, very tiring heartbeat for years- I used to go to a heart doc and they had me monitored for a few days and pretty much my hb went up to 180 in my sleep and I was told that I should not have kept breathing. It has been scary because no one can help me. I went to the ER this pass week and my heart rate hit 130 just laying there. They did a chest X-Ray and found nothing and sent me home. I was upset because my heart was having this jumping feeling and I couldn't keep up with the pace. I would love an answer because it is hard walking fast or up-stairs because I can't breath. I do not do drugs or drink- I am of normal weight and size. I am not on pills and I live a normal life style. I just want help...
hI IvE BEEN HAVING THE SAME problem and when I went to the doctors office the did an EKG on me and said that it was beating fast. They then told me to go to nacodoghes to a cardiac center. they did an echo on me and said that I had a perfectly heathly heart and nothing whas wrong other than it was beating to fast.It sometomes happens when I have caffine.I have a mild heart mumor
i am 29 and my heart has been doing this for about 2yrs now. it happens randomly and sometimes last over an hour. it takes my breathe away and seems like all my energy. i am pretty healthy and the doctor told me it was nothing. i've noticed lately that it starts when i sneeze or burp. really weird and its freaking my wife out. i've got no history in my family of heart disease and have always been perfectly healthy. so random
Hi everyone.....I am a 33 yr old female mother of 2. I have been having the same exact things as you all. My heart races really fast and hard after I eat too much so I try to eat smaller portions and that does help but sometimes I'm so hungry and I overeat and it happens again! It also beats fast sometime when I just get up after sitting for a while. I've had blood tests, ekg's, & chest xray's and they even had me do the heart monitor and they all came back normal and ruled it as anxiety/panic disorder. So I decided to go to a different a doc an hour from where I live that I was referred to by a friend just to get a second opinion. I'm currently awaiting the blood tests results, I have another appt with him on Feb 8 and he is also going to have me where the heart monitor again since my last one was done over a year ago. I'm hoping to get some answers and if they rule it as anxiety again, then I guess that would be a good thing even I know how horrible anxiety and panic attacks are. If any of you that have posted previously have found anything out, please let me know. Thanks!
I don't want to alarm you, however at age 22 my son died and the doctors called it tachycardia arrhythmia. His heart would beat so fast that I asked the doctor if it would get tired and stop....he said NO....well he was WRONG!! My son went to the gym to work out, came to our house with his girlfriends little boy. He said he didn't feel well...he also didn't look well and I wanted him to go to the emergancy room to have this checked out. Yes, it had happened before, however he didn't look like he did that night and I was taking his blood pressure and it was crazy with highs and lows.....he insisted about an hour later that he felt better and needed to get home to get his girlfriends little boy tucked into bed. I had already told my son that he needed help and told him a rescue 911 that I'd watched about a football player that passed out on the field....I told my son that if that happened to him...this lil boy was only three years old and wouldn't be able to revive him and he could die! My son was NOT a smoker, drinker or user of drugs. He loved to work out and as a baby he did have one episode with his heart beating fast...I rushed him to the doctor and he called all the other doctors in the building in to see, what he called a once in a lifetime thing to see. I was so upset at that doctor, but he reassured me that my son would be ok. He later sent me to the emergancy room. There they gave my son a shot and this didn't happen to my son again until he started playing basketball, in jr hi school. There were times tho that he'd just be sitting watching TV and it would start up. I spoke to my son's doctor and asked him about what was going on with my son, and he said this is so common. Well this so common thing killed my son that very night! He called our home and spoke to his dad and asked his dad if he was in the same room as me, his dad said yes, and my son asked him to go into another room, as my husband did. My son said to his dad: "Dad I think there's something seriously wr..............he then died before getting wrong out. Next thing I hear my husband screaming our son's name over and over and when I asked him why he was doing that, he said he won't respond to me.....I grabbed that phone yelling and begging him to answer me...finally the little boy picked up the phone and said my son was making really werid noises and it was scaring him...I hung up the phone and told my husband our son was dying and to call 911. Our son did die that night, however machines kept him alive for 6 days and I am so thankful for that. Our son was an organ/tissue donor by choice and made that decision at age 17....A little 4 year old boy recieved my son's left kidney and beat all the doctors odds against this lil guys disease (FSGS) and this lil guys parents were told that the disease would attack this new kidney within 3 to 6 months. It's been 5 years and this lil kid lives a normal healthy life without tubes and dialysis.
Several others live normal lives today due to my son's donation gift as well.
I urge you to not take this problem you have lightly....IT IS A SERIOUS problem that needs immediate attention.

Hi everyone.....I'm a 33 yr old female and have been having the same exact feelings as you all. Like alot of you, my heart will race after I eat and it will also feel as though it's fluttering if I get up walk to quickly after I eat. It also beats hard and fast sometimes when I get up from just sitting which makes it really hard to make myself to get up and get anything done. I've had blood tests, ekg's, heart monitor and chest xray's done and they have all came back normal....they tell me it's anxiety/panic disorder. I have a hard time believing that because I get so out of breath just walking a short distance or walking up hill or up stairs. I used to walk 3 miles every day without a problem and can't do that anymore! So, I just went to another doc about an hour away from where I live that I was referred to by a friend. I am waiting on my blood test results and he also is going to do the heart monitor thing on me again since the last one was done over a year ago. I was told by a friend that problems with your thyroid can cause symptoms that I have been having, her teenage son was having severe depression & anxiety and was on high doses of anti depressants and anti anxiety meds and they finally found out it was his thyroid....he is now off the depression/anxiety meds and on some kind of natural thyroid meds and has his life back! So I'm hoping it something as simple as that for me too. I'm anxious to get my blood test results back, I'm ready to feel better and to get back to exercising...i've put on 10 lbs since I haven't been able to exercise! Anyway, if any of you have got any results back since your last post, please let me know what your doc said. As soon as I get my results, I will let everyone know what I found out! Thanks!
I'm having a similar problem :-(
For the last week my heart is bearting really hard and fast 24/7 ... I can't sleep, and also the area around my heart feels really sore, I'm having problems bending down and excercise.
I'm going to the doctors tomorrow, I'm pretty scared what he'll say .. but at the same time ... I want him to say what it is and not just 'Hmmm we'll have to investigate ...'

It usually happens when i am lying in bed trying to drift off, and i get really panicky about it and it makes it worse. i havent slept properly for weeks because of it, and it isnt like im unfit, i got dancing 3 times a week for at least an hour, sometimes three and i would reccomend that if ur a kid who has the same problem, to tell ur parents. i told my mum and she's taking me to the doctors on monday. and i would like to thank everyone who posted on this subject, i am a lot less stressed now. thanks :-)
I'm 20 years old and this problem started some 5 days ago, i'm really worried because my heart is beating very fast 24/24 and that's scaring me, i also feel that my heart is very hot and sometimes i feel suddenly like being stabbed.. :-( i didn't visit any doctor yet because i don't want to worry my family... and i feel allways the need to drink since that happened, now i'm completely freaked out and i feel my heart beating in my ears everyday and everynight.. :-(
not that for the last month i didn't sleep to much, only like 6 hours every 24 hours.. can this have a relation to that?

I am 22 and I have to say that i have been through most of the things mentioned here :-(
I used to panic a lot because i never knew what it was. I thought i was dying whenever my heart started beating very fast.
Its painful sometimes, but now i kind of know how to deal with it. I try my best to remain calm, the inhaler btw makes it worse sometimes
Its happens after eating, sometimes I spend hours without sleeping. I try closing my eyes but the fast beating wakes me up again and it goes on for the whole night.
I have seen the doctor, she said i have anxiety problems
I feel the reason is my nutrition since it happens after eating, I will have to change that and until then I will try to deal with it. %-)

I am 16 and this has happened to me for the past 2 years. Mostly after working out. I have found out that if you hold your breath for 10-20 seconds and exhale and do not move, you will feel light headed and then it will beat heavily once then go back to its regular beating. I don't know if this is healthy, but it has worked for me.
I'm 13 and I have a simillar problem. My heart all of a sudden starts beating faster and pounding in my chest.
This happens after I eat, before I go to bed, or while i'm just sitting at the computer or watching T.V. This has been going on for a week now and it's starting to get annoying. Anyone have any ideas of what it might be or how to stop it?

I have severe anemia too and have the same problem. When your anemic it forces your heart to work harder. Like a car that's low on oil forces the engine to work harder. I need to get some iron pills and maybe even a blood transfusion. I also have bad anxiety attacks. I'm surprised to see that it happens to others after they eat. That's when it's the worse for me.
