I’m curious I’m a bit religious and think this has to do with Jesus and he does that to you if you don’t follow him because he says in the Bible sinners will Nash their teeth at the righteous and the itching makes me Kansa my teeth. Anyone else think I’m onto something or are their any Catholics who still suffer with itchy gums let me know please.

Same thing here been going on for about two years but lately all day every day to the point I can't sleep at night..Dentists tell me it's nothing blame my anemia..Like hello I have not had anemia over 2 years... I decided to go to a dentist in Tijuana Mex. They gave me a mouthwash and toothpaste to use 2x a day...It was not cheap but within 20 minutes I felt relieve for the first time...Was told by dentist my gums looked almost white due to having a dry mouth and constantly pushing on my gums...I never realized I even had a dry mouth but according to her it's a side effect of Paxil which I have been on for 20 years and finally caught up to me..Suggested I talk to my Psychiatrist to possibly change or I will have to stay on mouthwash and toothpaste for life...which I dont want but also an so dependent on Paxil.

Hi guys. I've posted on here on and off over the years. I just wanted to ask everybody a question. I always assumed this disorder had a physical origin, but last year I was diagnosed with OCD and wondered if that might be the true cause. I've noticed many of you are on anti-anxiety medication. For the rest of you, have you ever been diagnosed with/showed signs of OCD or anxiety?

Does a blocked nose cause itchy gums

HNJ, if you see this:

1. Prior medical issue has affected my heart, so yes.
2. I have been diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia. Similar to Trigeminal Neuralgia. (These are often referred to as "suicide disease" due to the pain involved. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2009, with Occipital Neuralgia being related to the M.S.
3. I think everyone has some level of OCD. That seems like a "make the symptoms fit" diagnosis. That is essentially saying you have a nervous tic that you revert to in stressful times.

Hi!
Have you ever gotten any answers? I'm in AGONY here, poking at and flicking my gum close to the bottom of the tooth for relief!

Hello, I am wondering if any of you have found an answer or resolved your issue with itchy gums. I have had the same problem and my dentist also tells me that I am fine, that nothing is wrong. I still get itchy in my bottom front teeth every now and then but they keep telling me everything looks fine.

I have been doing this same thing, mostly, almost completely between my two top front teeth for as long as I can remember... I see many other people mentioning the age of 8, I think my afliction started at 6 or 7 but close enough. I brought it up with an adult I knew I could trust when I was 8 or 9 and in discussing it I came to the conclusion that it was almost 100 percent psychosomatic. Not that I understood that word back then but I'm 40 now and every few months of the year I spend 2 to 3 days scratching and then have to spend 2 to 3 days fighting the urge to itch and scratch and eventually stab with whatever instrument gives me the most relief...satisfaction...? I think a distant second (very very distant) equivalent is light spanking or pinching or even hygenic grooming... in other words minor pleasurable pain applied by a spouse. There's absolutely nothing sexual about picking at my gums but I can't help but find some relation to the sensation. After 2 to 3 days I get so worried about permanent damage that I have to spend that next 2 to 3 days consciously fighting the urge to get back at it. Someone else here said it was close to the sensation of an orgasm and I would have to agree, but without that rise to climax... what a let down right? and I'm a guy... can't figure out where all that fits lol. Anyways, keep fighting the good fight, it's not worth mouth disease or cancer or a ruined smile... no matter how good it feels... but if a doctor or dentist calls you crazy like other's here have tell them you're not alone or to go f**k a stump! Scratcher 4 life!

on fifth gum graft for this. Hope we both find relief. It also feels like there is something stuck in my gums that needs to come out. Doctors, dentist are useless. I do wonder about it being an allergy.

My gums itch between my two front teeth and they just feel overall dirty. Idk how else to explain it. Anyone else?

I’ve been posting on here for 12 years. I’m 54 and have dealt with this since I was about 7. Nothing is working. Pins, mouthwashes, flossing, laser, moving my teeth, toothpicks, acupuncture needles, topicals, scraping the teeth, deep gum cleaning, peroxide, with it without sinus issues, medication for OCD, you name it. I’ve tried it. I literally dream about ripping my teeth out. My dentist has poked a tool until she gets to the itchy spot and says she’s reached bone at that point. The only positive thing about this living Hell is the entertainment I get from the look of horror from hygienists when they see what makes me say, “Yes. That’s the spot.”
