I was wondering what is endocrinology? What meds might you be able to take to increase your uterine lining? Have you heard that if they go in and scrape the uterine walls that it can stimulate new growth. ALso I heard that if you still have a period after the ablation then they didnt get all the lining and it is incomplete. One last thing I heard if you had the ablation before age 35 that the surgery isent as effective. I was 35 at the time of the surgery. Thank you so much for your time and information. Danielle
Endocrinology is the study of the glands and hormones and how they relate to disorders. I assume that this helps the doctor better understand how things relate to the body in certain situations. I sure wsh I could understand what needs to occur so I could conceive again. As far as the types of hormones that may help to promote uterine regrowth...going on what my ob/gyn said he thought progesterone might help. I'm honestly not sure if there is such a hormone that would help but I'm hoping there is something. I had novasure at 33 and haven't had a period since then. I do still feel like I'm going to have one though. I still have the moods, cramps and bloating. Sometimes I can even feel like I am menstrating but it's a colorless discharge. Have any of you had the same occurance? And about the D & C...my doctor said they may do that to clean out any scarring that occurs from having the ablation procedure. He said that the uterine wall heals by scaring after having an ablation performed. I hope this helps you. Talk to everyone soon and take care.

Does anyone know of a good doctor that does the tubal reversal? I have seen mailnly 3 on the internet. I live in Ohio but would be willing to travel somewhat. And anyone know of a good OB in Ohio near cleveland? Thank you,
What about this Dr. Levin, Or Dr. Greene, Or Dr. Berger? They all have websites about tubal reversal. Some docs so no way to pregnancy after ablation
To all those that are new to this situation beware. The ups and downs of pregnancy after ablasion are a roller coaster. I stated this dialogue and lost a baby at 10 weeks. I have since gone to a fert specialist and am currently undergoing testing for my ability to have a full term pregnancy. I also had a tubal reversal and mine was performed by Doctor in Mobile AL. I had a child after the reinstamosis but had to have an ablasion later due to chemotherapy. I would highly suggest that any one wanting children be cautious. My husband and I have been struggling for 3 years with peaks and valleys. The emotional strain is very difficult. We have not given up hope but it is difficult. DO NOT take your reproductive health lightly. The more procedures you have the harder it is to become pregnant. I pray for a good ending but to date we have lost one baby but are attempting another pregnancy ( I am not currently pregnant).
Just a few questions, did you have any bleeding after your ablation? Because I have had a regular period every month since my ablation about a year ago. Some doctors have told me that if I am still bleeding that I obviously still have some lining in my cervix, but weather or not there is enough. And do you know if any meds or maybe a d and c can help encourage new growth? I was 35 when I got the ablation. I have heard that since I was young that new lining will eventually grow. Thanks Danielle
I had a tubal 8 yrs ago and an ablation 6 yrs ago. Recently I had lap surgery so the fertility Dr could look around. He says there is too much scar tissue for the baby to implant.........but what about IVF. If we went that route couldn't he find a good spot to implant? I still have a 3-4 spotting every month too.....any ideas?
Has anyone had any luck with pregnancy after ablation? What have you heard from other doctors? Good luck and thanks
Yes there are several examples of successful pregnancy after ablasion. Most of the successful pregnancies occur if you have eneough endometrial lining to support the placental implantation and growth. Because the ablasion is a "blind" procedure where the doctor burns the endometrial lining, it is hit and miss. It is possiable to have eneough lining to support a pregnancy but the odds of success are directly related to the amount of endometrium remaining. I will have a HSG in the next few weeks then I will go for a lap procedure where the physician can visualize the amount of endometrium I have left. This will be the best indicator of a successful pregnancy. Those who are pregnant please give us an update on your progress. Good luck to all on this roller coaster.
tlebkowsky, do you still have a period? I still have a somewhat lite one, enough to wear a tampon, for about 5 days every month. I had the nova sure? How do you get a lap? I have not discussed anything with my gyno because he probably wouldnt be happy? Should I go to a new OB or to a infertility specialist? Do insurance cover the lap? I have read that if I still have a period that I would possible be able to support a pregnancy. Have you heard this? I guess it would just be if the embryo attached to a part of the uterus that still has lining. I think it would just be a hit or miss. let me know anyone's thought on this. Thank you
I had a uterine ablasion three years ago and was told it would make me sterile. I am divorced, but have been involved with a new man since January. We had sex 5 weeks ago and I have all the signs/symptoms of pregnancy. I thought I was crazy to think it could happen.
Does anyone know if scraping the uterine lining, such as a D & C would encourage new urterine growth and remove the scar tissue? Also what about taking progesterone or estrogen? Thanks
I also am thinking of having another baby and was told with my past and ablation I should adopt. I am wondering how things have gone for you? Really would like to know how it turned out. I am kinda desperate!!!!
I am also thinking of having another baby and curious of how you have done with your pregnancy. I was told with my past problem pregnacies I should adopt. My Dr. said I would have to go to a fertility Dr. to see how bad the lining was damaged. Please help!!!
