This sounds just like me. I had the procedure July 2017 and after 1 year I am finally almost back to my normal weight but I’ve had to basically do crazy diets and cleanses because I gained 10 lbs that would not come off thru regular diet and exercise!! I’m 39 and not sure if it’s the ablation or my age but even at 133 lbs I’m still very chubby in my belly... almost swollen looking

I had mine done about 3 years ago, I have put on 30 pounds and fight bloat and water retention daily. My GYN chalked it up as thyroid, which was perfectly fine. She said that it must just be hormones and being over 40. I feel that something is not right, but she won't do anymore work up.

_[removed]_ Reason why may gain weight can vary. Ablation causes are tissue ans when your lining sheds ( because part of the lining grows back or was never completely ablated) the blood can become trapped within the scar tissue and you develop hematomas. Often your cervix is scared shut too from ablation restriction the blood from exiting your body. Your abdomen swells. If you had a tubal ligation before or at the same time of ablation... you may be suffering from patss ( see FDA warning on novasure.com). Labor like pain down your back legs and abdomen with swelling. Ablation is often recommended by gynos if you suffer ptls symptoms which include heavy bleeding. Don't do it! Remember that when your body wants to shed the lining each month... and cannot... your body will react and you may experience menopausal or perimenopausal symptoms. I hear more and more gynecologists are now NOT performing ablation on women due to failures which probably represent 97% and not the other way. Ablation is a bandaid at best and you will require a hysterectomy within 5 years. Women regret their ablations because besides weight gain your equilibrium is off and you experience dizziness, etc. Don't be fooled, ablation is not a lifesaver as it can create more problems and damage nearby organs resulting in additional surgeries besides a hysterectomy.

I had endometrial ablation several years ago, and didn't have periods since then. I recently got my period and have lost almost 5 pounds this week. (had gained over 30 lbs since ablation) Anyone experienced this?
