My surgery was at the Toronto Cosmetic Surgery Institute with Dr. Jugenburg 3 months ago.  It was done under local, took about 30 minutes.  My experience has been pretty good.  The staff was great and reassuring.  After the surgery once the freezing wore off I had to take the pain pills they gave me and I took them for three days.  It was awkward sitting for the first few days, i pretended that I felt and hit my tailbone if anyone at work asked!

HI EVERYONE PLEASE HELP.

I HAVE NERVE PAIN IN BOTH LABIAS FROM AN INFECTION OF THE BARTHOLIN GLANDS.

THE ONLY OTHER PERSONS WHO SHARE MY PAIN ARE LABIAPLASTY PATIENTS, EVEN THOUGH DOCTORS ARE QUICK TO SAY IT IS VULVODYNIA.

I HAVE BUZZING, ELECTRIC SHOCKS, STABBING PAIN. WHO ELSE HAS THIS AND WHAT SOLUTION DID YOU FIND FOR THE PAIN? I TAKE 50 MG AMI/ELAVIL

AND FOR THE REST OF YOU, DO NOT DO THE SURGERY, YOU HAVE 3 BRANCHES OF NERVES DOWN THERE !!

I have read scary stories before and after my surgery which is why I post so much on my positive experience. I think you really need to research to find an experienced quality labiaplasty doctor before your surgery. Dr Cheapo is not good when they are working on your vag.

I had a modified wedge by Dr Disaia and have been thrilled for years.
He was not cheap but much less than Alter and my vag is a sports car now. :)

@jennygrl even with the best surgeon no one can guarantee you will be ok after a surgery. that area has the most nerve endings in the entire body. I suffer with pain after some silly bartholin lancings of 1 cm and a mild infection. I should not be in any pain, yet here I am. And I never had invasive surgeries.

Hi lululu, I'm almost 3 weeks post op going through the same thing. felt i was healing but after 2 weeks and probably doing too much now i'm on bed rest and even getting up for short while is so painful, and it looks so bad & is so tight/uncomfortable I'm scared that sex will be painful… Really regret having had the surgery and hoping it will heal with more time. Doctor told me it will take 6weeks to look normal so not to worry til then… she also told me to massage the scar tissue to stretch the area but I can't bear it even touching it is too painful right now… :( so sad… :( hopefully we'll both heal with time...

I am just telling my story. Too bad for you, but I did not say I guaranteed anything. I just had successful labiaplasty weith Dr Di Saia (spelled it wrong the first time.) He is in Orange and San Clemente Calif for those looking for a safe experience with labia reduction. I don't regret it at all. :)

Hi everyone!
My name is Emilie and I'm a senior at UCSD currently writing my honors thesis. The focus of my research topic is labiaplasty. I am interested in women's experiences with the surgery and what drives them to get the surgery- basically my aim here is to get to know women who have gotten this surgery done or are seriously considering getting it done so I can know more about labiaplasty and the women who have gotten the procedure. So far I haven't been able to find a lot of information on labiaplasty experiences out there, and it would be a privilege to be able to learn more firsthand from the women involved! I am passionate about women's health and have a lot to learn, and that is why I'm researching this thesis.
I would love to hear about your experiences, either via phone or email/message. Any information you give me will be strictly confidential and absolutely anonymous if used in my thesis, which is not set to be published.
If you are interested at all, please send me a private message or comment below with a way that I can contact you!
Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you!! :)

I have had sex with very many women in my life and at least15% had large opr very large labia. I absolutly disagree that your labia can be the cause ofpainful sex, it never happened to any women I had sex with due to her labia, so there may be another reason. Large labia are sexy and lovely....many men would be happy to have such a woman. I would urge you to forget the pornstar trimmed images of "neat" labia, like all of those images they do not give any idea of how wonderful large labia are as a great sex aid and visual turn on. Lucky you!

Large labia except in very rare medical cases, are a wonderful sex aid for a woman and her parter. Howlucky women are to have them! How absurd and wrong it is to encourage any sort of labiaplasty except for valid MEDICAL reasons. And this in the age when male circumcision is frowned upon based upon recent knowledge. Large labia are NORMAL they are not a "health issue" at all, but very healthy in99% of cases.

Hi there, not sure if you're still on this thread but I'm in Ireland and have been seriously considering this surgery for years. Now I'm certain that I want it as my discomfort levels day to day are increasing with underwear pinching etc. I'd be very interested in knowing how you are now and who it was that you went to in Ireland? I really like the idea of working with a gyne rather than going straight to a plastic surgeon. Thanks so much in advance.

I had my surgery done yesterday on the NHS. I was due for surgery a few years ago and changed my mind on the day but decided to go ahead after a few more years of thought. I didn't mention anything cosmetic to my GP, explained I was embarrassed to discuss it but that it was getting in the way of my day to day life - discomfort exercising, wearing certain clothing, catching on my underwear etc.

Mine was a relatively minor case and only on one side but I was able to have it performed on the NHS under general anaesthetic. I was well looked after and have woken up today with no pain and very little discomfort. I read a lot of scary experiences which I think initially put me off but I am so pleased so far and fingers crossed the rest of 'recovery' will be relatively easy.

Hi there,

I have just come acorss Dr. Konrad and I too have made an inquiry about labiaplasty. I have the same problem as you in relation to having too much excess skin around the clitoral hood. How did this go with Dr. Konrad? Do you have any before and after photos put up? Did you have any post surgical problems with the Dove Technique?

Thanks

I'm 3 weeks post op. today and I chose to do the laser triming technique over the wedge, because of I wanted the pretty pink color all the way through. If you have darker skin down there then you won't get rid of it. It's more of a unnatural look, but in my case this was the best option. Couple things you should know ladies! 3 weeks later and it looking better.. but damn! beward you will need to take atleast a week off! I'm in a very active industry and it's been 3 weeks since I've been off and pretty miserable over here... I'm sure the 6 week mark will be the change I'm starting to want to notice.  ANXIOUS, ANXIETY, FRUSTRATION, ANGER, DOUBTING.. all the above and then some...

I paid 10,500k for the surgery from doc. off park ave. and I paid this because his pictures were simply the best!

WHEN DONE PROPERLY

The laser is more bruising, more pain, longer recovery, its just a rougher experience all around.

The wedge less of the above.

complications in both are dependent on surgeon.

BEST OF LUCK!

AS OF NOW I'M 60% happy I did it.  I'm sure that number will go up the longer the months go along and the more natural and softer it appears.

Oh yea and sex sometimes takes up to 8 weeks.

AGH!
