I had one removed from my right upper eye and one removed from my left lower eye (next to tear duct). The right one, about a year ago and it seems a bit better now but at first, it got worse. The left one I've had for over two years and it steadily got bigger and pulled my eyelashes into the corner of my eye (aren't they great!?), so I decided to get it removed also - this time they quarterised it whilst inside (the first time they just cut it) and told me that they got very little out (it stank of burning flesh and was quite painful afterwards). The op itself doesn't hurt - you only feel the injection, which is f*cking horrible but only lasts less than a minute. Now, I have scar tissue that is bigger than the chalazion was itself - I have decided to seek private medical advice and I've been put on a stronger mg of doxycycline once a day to stop anymore from coming - what I will say is, eye hygene is the most important thing here and DO NOT feel dirty - the private doc tells me that on average, Chalazion is caused by sebaceous filaments or acne, it's like having a spot in/near your eye - I suffer with cysts a lot, all over my body but the Chalazion is a fighter, it wants to stay and the only thing we can do is make sure our eyes are as clean as possible - and when you do get that 'feeling' that one is on the way, kill that little sh*t with hot compresses, all day every day to make sure it doesn't surface - I've had some success with this method too.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I still have all of my chalazion and now blepharitis (and some significant thickening to my right inner, upper eyelid) but the occular specialist assures me that generally its a 'phase' and that they will go, it just takes a very, very long time and a LOT of patience.
First they numb ur eye so ur gonna feel pressure but it won't hurt but afterwards it does hurt a little bit but it's nothing really
I had one removed last week and it seems to have gone down however there is still a lump. Is this scar tissue or could some of it still be there? I'm really upset that it hasn't gone and am not sure what to do to reduce the remaining lump.
Hi I had my stye out from the bottom left eylid yesterday wasn't at all painful apart from the initial pinch of the needle at the start. However after I took my eye patch of I found that my eye was swollen and still had a slight lump where the first big lump was. I'm not too sure if my doc hadnt properly taken all of the rubbish from my eye out or if this is normal and it will soon go away. If anyone knows anything about this plz reply. Thanks.
I just had a chalazion removed and it was painful. The doctor couldn't get it all out so he had to inject steroids to dissolve it.
how long did it take for it to completely go away?
I had mine removed just now and like really the surgery isn't as much pain as you thought it would be but the only thing that would hurt would be the injecting of the anesthesia. I don't know but I was injected twice bec I think the anesthesia has also it's time limit. The only thing that would bother you would be that and also how hard the doctor will push through your eyes (but it won't hurt, but just can feel it). Good luck ! Don't be afraid.
The surgery is actually fine.. It's the needle injection they give you to numb the area that hurts like hell
Same thing happened to me. I had the surgery last November and there's still a small bump on it. Will it eventually go away?
How is it now? Mine still has a lump and it's been 2 months already. :(
Had a chalaza on surgery yesterday but the hard lump is still there and nothing is draining out
Ive had this done twice. The first time was with a doc who lived in the 40's his equipment, style, and techniques. it hurt like a mother! I had just given birth a week before that so you can imagine i was pretty tolerant of pain. The second time was with a young doc from NYU it's not comfortable but much much much less painful.
Wow. I had the same situation as you. The one on my lower left was gone already, but the one on the upper right still has a lump on it. And 2 small lumps, actually. They don't hurt. So I'm guessing they're just scar tissue? Do you have any idea how long it will take for them to subside?
Can you tell me more about it? What is lecithin and how is it taken? Are there any side effects of it?
hi, i am scheduled to have the surgery VERY soon and was wondering during the procedure do you see anything out of the eye that is being operated on? Thats what i'm mos worried about that i dont want to have to see the needle or clamp or anything
