When I had my surgery is couldn't see anything out of that eye.
Took 15 minutes and not painful at all however you must have some one to drive you back home.
Thankyou, this is so reassuring
it does hurt like for less then 4 minustes or so but then you wont feel nothing just alittle presure after... i have them as well but im scared to get them rid .... :(
I had watched YouTube and removed one on my own. Did it with a box cutter, a q-tip, and some vodka. It hurt a little, but felt like such a relief the instant I got it out. It was putting pressure on my eyeball causing major migraines. So I just manned up and cut that suckered out, and squeezed. No scar tissue no problems. Happy as a clam. :0)
My 2 year old son had numerous ones. We tried many drops but what eventually worked was tobradex. Postpone the surgery for as long as possible. I had one removed last week and while I did not die I do think it is too much for a 5 year old..
I had Chalazions removed from both eyelids just under a week ago but had it done under general anaesthetic instead of local because I was too worried about the procedure. This may be a better option for your daughter. My eyes weren't really sore just swollen after and then some bruising in the days following. The lumps haven't totally gone but hopefully with time they will reduce even more. Try not to worry too much, if it is done under general then she really won't be aware of anything until she wakes up and even then it's really not too bad. Good luck.
Worse pain in my life. Not to scare you. I had one needle. I felt it all. Burning twisting cutting. Horrible quarterizing. Swelling. Couldnt open my eyes for 24 hours. Pus drained constantly. Today is 36 hours later. Ill see how it goes today. Good luck.
Yes I've had several removed through the years and my eyelids are normal. I go to the same dr. He is amazing!! Dr. Milite in New Jersey. I actually have one now and I'm going to see him this upcoming week.
I just had a chalazion surgically removed yesterday from my right upper eyelid. It was not a pleasant experience but I am hoping it finally rids me of this- I had never had issues with styes/chalazions etc before until Nov 2015- got several styes on both eyes, turned into preseptal cellulitis, which was very painful- took oral antibiotics, antibiotic ointment and eye drops, had steroids injected into both upper eyelids, warm compresses, baby shampoo, used apple cider vinegar which did seem to help with the size, but had to eventually get the right one excised. The procedure started with "numbing" eyedrops in my right eye and all over my eyelid. Then being injected in lid area several times with lidocaine- this was the worst part because you can feel the needle. My doctor has an assistant and I just squeezed the heck out of her hand. Once everything was numb though I couldn't feel any pain, I knew she was doing something but wasn't sure what (I didn;t want to know to be honest) When you eyelid gets flipped up, that is very weird because then I could see her- the incision underneath was left open to allow continued drainage- so today my vision on my right eye is still blurry as it is still draining- but I am glad that there is alot of gunk coming out. I did have a few sutures in my outer eyelid as the skin was so inflamed and irritated it broke during the procedure. But there is no pain or discomfort. The worse part was the injections prior to the procedure to make the eyelid numb. I am truly hoping my eyelids will look normal again someday. They have been red and swollen for 5 months now, I've almost forgotten what normal looks like!
Just returned from eye surgery to remove upper eye lid chalazion. Still wearing an eye patch for a couple more hours. The surgery was not bad! Very quick and painless! Nothing to be afraid of.
Hey! Did your chalazion finally go away? I just had my operation a few days ago and there is still a red bull and the doctor had to even remove some skin on the top of my eyelid because it hardened! Let me know if yours healed, I'm getting married next year so I would like to have normal eyelids by then :(
Just had a chalazion removed...quick and painless. Eyelid is swollen and some drainage.
Lecithin also helped me tremendously for my Chalazion of 5 months!
I had a stye for a long time until I went to the doctor and she recommended for me to go to the Eye Doctor. When I went to the eye doctor they diagnosed me with a Chalazion on both the right and left eyelid. My doctor asked me if I wanted to be awake or unconscious. But I was just wondering which would be the best choice.
