Okay, I have had this for awhile, and honestly I think it had to do with my weight and not eating right. Ladies, our areas are very sensitive! The best thing to do is eat healthier (no cokes) and th problem areas which are creased wont get all sweaty and grow an infection. Also, DON'T POP IT! it will pop inside the most and spread out. If it does bother and affect your daily routine than go to your doctor.

about two years ago i had one of these along my panty line, but in the front-ish area. like if you measure from where the clitoris is, and go straight left from there to where the elastic in your panties hits. right on the tendon going from my thigh to pelvis... ouch. well, i had it for probably a solid year. it was just this huge ugly thing that really hurt. sometimes it'd go down in size, but it never disappeared completely. so one day i brought a needle in with me into the shower. it had been extra inflamed that day and the day or two before, so i had had enough. i poked it with the needle and it instantly started pouring blood. once the flow of blood eased up a bit, i got squeezing (keep in mind, i was VERY careful to keep everything sanitary during this process. i'd even scrubbed the shower/tub with Comet before this shower.) it took maybe half an hour and a sh*t ton of willpower to endure the pain. but pus started coming out, little by little, and then i started to be able to see something inside it (the hole was pretty big by this point). so i kept messing with it. squeezing and digging in the hole with the needle. i think i may have even brought some tweezers in, too. then FINALLY.... i got to see what was peeking out inside the hole for the last 25 minutes. out burst this HUGE (i mean HUUUUUUUUUGE) chunk of pus/meat/blood/HAIR. it was DISGUSTING (yet i was soooooooo satisfied haha). the hole was huge by this point, so huge i was considering going to the hospital for stitches. blood poured out of it for about 15 seconds (probably seemed like more just because i had water running over it), and then nothing. i washed it (i recommend dove plain white bar soap, if you're looking for something with minimal groin irritation), got out of the shower, filled it with neosporin, and put a bandaid on it. i didn't have any problems with it again... ever really. it's an ugly scar now though.
now in the last month i've noticed another one forming in the exact same place but on the other side of my pubic hair. the last one was kind of bulbous/circular, but this one is long (like running along the panty line just under the surface of the skin, and it's kind of grain-of-rice shaped, but bigger). this one is purple, and i think the last one was, too. so earlier tonight i wiped it down with witch hazel, squeezed, and nothing happened. so i took a needle, squeezed again, and punctured. blood instantly started flowing out. lots of it. so far nothing but blood has come out, but this was the first step in taking care of the ingrown hair last time. i think over the next few weeks i'll be able to make more progress... or at least irritate it enough that pus will form enough to make something final happen.
oh yeah, and for the first one i went to the gynecologist to have it looked at. he said it was just an ingrown hair, not an STD, and that i should wax instead of shave. so i started going to a waxer. but i kind of think that my skin is just too fair/sensitive for hair removal (apparently naturally blonde people and fair skinned people have more issues with skin sensitivity and hair removal bumps). so that sucks. side note: i wish it were the 90s or before so a full bush would be normal and i wouldn't have this issue!

anyway, hope that helped at least one person out there :)

Scaring people by giving a diagnosis like it sounds like herpes is not helpful. I have had the same thing, and since I have been celibate for 2 years, been tested for all STDs and was told by my dr to lose weight! Cut out sodas and eat better as well as stop shaving the area to reduce the risks of these CYSTS. Good luck!

I have it regularly on my right side. I always have it near the end of my period and I cross my legs a lot which makes me think my pad(I use pad with wings) somehow irrates my skin, it is always on the right side and I cross my legs a lot with my right leg over my left. What I do is to rub rubbing alcohol on it, it seems to help it get smaller quicker. May be I will try to use pad without wings, I try stopping crossing my leg, but it is hard.

I have an ingrown hair. How do I get rid of it without using the tweesers. I have tryed soking it and getting tweesersn but the hair never comes to the surface. Do ingrown hairs go away on their own,k or is there a cream that will get rid of it.

same here except I can't remember when i got it. it's been a constant part of my daily life and dr's tell me don't worry about it. It's nothing. WALK A DAY IN OUR SKIN!! I have scars and bumps and pain. Tea tree oil made it worse. Doing what it's supposed to made it all the more painful. I'm sorry to shatter any hopes but from what i have learned it comes and goes as it pleases. Mine has yet to go and believe me when I tell you it helps to KEEP CLEAN AND DRY!!! It's not easy but it does help. It's embarrassing and Horrible because of the marks it can leave, but dark spot corrector helps a lot, so use that too Also, SAFEGUARD SOAP!! I use this now because my 2 year old niece gets these and the doctor insisted on this soap. I use this in the shower and also treat the bumps as if acne. Pimple treatments really help relieve some of the pain. This is all I got for now but i would love some more opinions on what works. So any advice would be appreciated.

This is happening to me right now and I'm trying to figure out the best home remedy. So far I can only find simple solutions but I personally popped it and am putting a warm compress on it.

But I HAVE gotten an ingrown hair and ignored it and it turned into a staff infection - it was SUPER painful and would randomly hurt super bad and even had a giant red/black line going across my leg (vein) and the doctor said if I had waited longer I could've died. so DO NOT ignore them ladies! (and gents)
