I am so blown away that others have this problem, really thought I was the only one because the Doctors I have seen have not ever been able to diagnose.
I only get this on my hands and some weeks my hand looks so bad I am embarrassed! The worst part is, now I know if I scratch them hard enough the "blisters" will pop and stop the itching for a bit.
It is very frustrating that no Doctor can diagnose this!

I started getting these bumps during the 1st summer I started working out in the heat. I don't get them when the weather is cooler. The bumps increase when I wear gloves and sweat alot. I've always thought of them as "sweat bumps", as that is the only time they appear. I know not to scratch, but do anyway. I'm looking for an itch reliever, not a cure.T

i used to get them on my left ahnd thought it was from jewelry so i stopped wearing it and still got in now its on my left hand starts on pinky and moves up to middle finger,(did so on left had as well) never get it on pointer fingers. Now I have it between my breasts and under along the bra line,.it gets much worse when high humidity. I use baking soda in the bath ,hydrocortizone followed by gold bond powder which feels awesome ,.but it comes back as soon as I start to sweat,.or get my hands wet. my mom and my ssister have had this,.it has something to do with hormones stress and heat(hot flashes, ikkk) a friend had a similar thing and her dad brought her sea water to soak her hands in and it cleared them,..waiting to find someone to ship me some until I can get to the ocean myself.I had this as early teen and know the sea water worked them,..but for now I cant even wear a bra,.Not good when you are a 34 d ..if someone can try ocean water and let us know that would be awesome

Soak your finger in peroxide! My boyfriend had this problem. He soaked his finger peroxide twice a day after about 5 days it started to clear up. We were skeptical But it works!

you all have herpetic whitlow. i have had it for 30 years and finally got it diagnosed about a year ago by a specialty doctor. surprisingly, there is a lot of information about it on the internet including pictures and i think you will find that this is exactly what you have. basically, there is no exact cure, but like regular herpes, Valtrex or the like is what keeps it at bay. they also have creams that will help when blisters appear. THIS IS NOT FROM MASTURBATING! This is also not a type of herpes you would ever get from your genitals! this is a different strain and you can get it from anyone or anything that has the strain on it. honestly, its pretty easy to get it, hence the reason you all have it. do some research about it and call your doctor :)

nobody mentioned it could just be a spider/mosquito bite while you're sleeping. spider bites take a long time to heal on a finger.

I have been suffering from these blisters since 1987. It started when I was going thru beauty school and my hands got so dry and cracked and bled from the chemicals we used at the time. I remember then getting an ointment for it and it helped alot, but as the years went by and now I have not done hair in 17 years i get these outbreaks of small clear fluid filled blisters all over my hands. They itch uncontrollably until I pop them . I can see them under my skin and there are many 100s? Possibly. after they pop and started to dry up thats when my skin peals off and my hands look all cracked and sore because they are. Eventually the dead skin sloughs off and new skin forms and the next time it starts all over. I have never had a doctor tell me anything special but my husband was recently diagnosed with herpes simplex 2 and when looking at pictures of my hands some of them could be my hands. I just dont know.

Thank you so so much. I looked up herpetic whitlow, and that's exactly what I have. My mom passed it on to me. She got it when she was 15, and I've had it since my mid 20's. Get this, I saw a dermatologist around 10 years ago about it, he was a much older, a step away from retirement. He looked at my hand, and said. "Sorry, I have no idea what that is." Please take care.

So glad that I've found other with this condition. I manage to not scratch most of the time now, but every now and then the itching drives me mad and I scratch until my skin is raw. I've had this condition since I was 18, I'm now 59.  It used to occur on the tops of my ring and middle fingers on both hands. It has migrated now to the sides of my ring and little fingers, also to the top of my big toes.  (that's just weird to me, that it is only on the top of my big toe).

Two things I'd like to mention from my research and feedback on some other postings:

I believe the condition to be Dyshidrotic Eczema (http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1122527-overview). The link has a very good section on treatment; of which I find 1% Hydrocortisone cream to be very effective in managing symptoms.  Also I've soaked my hands in hot water when the itching got to be too much and it provided some temporary releif.

The second thing is I've seen some very extreme things mentioned in these postings (sticking hands in bleach for one) and although the pain and itching can seem overwhelming; I'd like to caution you to calm down and relax before trying something drastic.

tl;dr 1% Hydrocortisone cream or ointment  or soaking hands in hot water.

I've noticed all of those correlations in myself---sugar, stress, cold/lack of sun exposure--and they do tend to from very quickly. Mine sometimes itch before they dot and blister.
