As to the under tummy and breasts problem, I have used Tinactin for that for years and it works. Just don't use it and try to go thru the airport scanner. It sets it off for some reason. Hope this works for you.

Hello there. No, I have had all of my blood tests done and there are no abnormalities. All of my results are o.k. I have really good personal hygiene, but do have a beard and mustache. My doctor says there is no explanation for this particular nuisance, but suggests that the Nisoral and alcohol rub is a good way to keep it under control. Before this doctor, another at Kaiser said that I had herpes and gave me a very strong medication for such. I was upset and changed doctors. While most people do have a virus herpes in their system, many of us show no symptoms. I have never had a canker shore or problem of a lip sore or any thing. I have had this flaking now about three or four years, but if I wash my face with the Nisoral at least once every three or four days and an occasional dabbing of alcohol between the Nisoral washes… the symptoms of the flaking do not come back. Hope this additional information works for you.

If you are still having this problem… start a treatment: - wash your face once a day with a product called Nizoral Anti-Dandriff Shampoo. Over the counter - full strength. It comes in a dark blue bottle and the liquid is a light blueish color. It doesn't stink like dandruff shampoo. If you get it in your eyes, it burns badly… so keep it out and it tastes bad if a little gets in your mouth… so keep it tightly shut while you scrub around the mouth and chin area. In one day you will see a remarkable improvement… in two or three days the areas will get much better and after a little bit of scabbing, the skin will heal. Then about every three or four days, wash the once effected areas with the Nizoral and between the washings cycles… dab and rub the areas with 70% Isopropyl alcohol. If you stop this treatment for a week or so… the symptoms will return. I have been doing this now for about three years and this treatment is 100% effective in preventing flare ups. Good luck. Mike

What you eat absolutely does make a difference. I cut out sugar and carbs and my face cleared up. I've been eating carbs and sugar and my PD is back. About to get back on my no sugar/carbs under 50 grams/day. I can't stand it! Lotrimin Ultra does help, but I've got a bad bout and likely need to see my derm.

I have been getting dry, red, flaky skin around my nose and eyebrows. My doctor thought it was eczema. Someone suggested Foderma Eczema to me, instead of prescription stuff. I am so glad they did. It works really well and is soothing to my skin. It also absorbs quickly and isn't greasy, making it easy to apply make up over it. I use it morning and night and won't use anything else.

People in this thread are posting multiple skin conditions. Many are likely confusing perioral dermatitis with seborrheic dermatitis; look at photos. Essentially perioral is tiny watery bumps which turn into red scabby flakes, and sebb derm is flaky on top of red skin, often greasy, often in beards and sides of nose. The standard of care for sebb derm is an anti fungal topical and hydrocortisone 1% for flare ups. Hydrocortisone and other steroids will make perioral dermatitis WORSE and it is important to make the distinction if not obvious. If you have insurance just go to your dermatologist. --- primary care doc

Mine is due to my hormones only bad at certain times of the month. It goes very red and flakes also has a burning sensation, it feel like when i stretch my mouth my chin feels like it will crack! I have never found a cure. I was told early on it was seborrheic dermatitis, the medical society seem to put a lot of things down to that. Good luck!

I had this exact same problem. I get it the day after I have lemon, which I'm moderately allergic to. Aggravated by harsh washing/touching. The flakiness, inflammation goes away within 24 hours of taking an antihistamine such as avil 25mg. I'd suggest you to get tested for food allergies/sensitivities. Then try eliminating those things, it is highly probable it won't reoccur as long as you do. A holistic approach that is. Hydrocortisone could fix the symptoms but not cure the ailment. Once you stop the hydro. & the food triggers again, you're back to square 1.
