I am having thick, brown bands below my breast and in the areas where stomach meets thighs (on both thighs). I have stopped wearing bras because the cloth irritates the skin. But even the tight-fitting top is contributing to the itch and the skin colour. I am 55 years of age. I think it has got to do with age and with sagging breasts. I don't think there is any cure! Apart from, maybe breast upliftment surgery. Any suggestions?

I was reading that GARLIC has antifungal properties... a Garlic paste applied 3 times a day is said to kill off the fungus... granted it may come back so dilligence is necessary.

Hey guys, I've had the same problem for a year or so now. My doctor said it is because I'm over weight, and it's an early sign of diabetes. Not that I have it, but if I keep living the way I am, I can get it. This summer I lost a little weight, and I noticed the spots under my arms and under my breast and top part of my stomach were starting to go away. Buuut, towards the end of the summer, I started to gain weight again, and the spots came back. I do believe its our body's telling us to change the way we take care of ourselves. Try eating better, and excersicing and I'm sure the spots will go away. I hope I helped, and thank you guys for helping me. Xoxo

I started getting these spots too when I was a preteen. I was very thin back then so I doubt it has anything to do with being overweight. I've never seen anyone about it but my aunt said she had a similar problem and told me it is a fungus that appears when you sweat. I never get it under my arms (maybe the deodorant deters it?) but I do get it on creases in my body (like the crook of my elbow, and around my boobs). You can use an anti-fungal cream to clear up the spots but its usually temporary. Perhaps it doesn't come back in the exact same spots but it doesn't usually kill it completely. What I'm wondering is how do I get rid of it completely. Like some of the other posters I've heard that it is caused by too much yeast in your system. How does one change that? Is it a dietary thing? I've had this problem for over 10 years and I'm finally at the point where I'd rather get rid of it completely than keep applying cream as needed.

I have the same spots.  It goes away when I eat healthy.  Low carb diet, or pure organic raw foods diet.  Anything that doesn't have lots of processed foods.  When I go back to eating processed foods, it comes back.

I'm 19 will be 20 soon.. female.. for the last year I've gotten these brown spots on my stomach my back and now into my pelvic area. I talked to a doctor and they told me out wasn't a yeast problem. I tried selsum blue just to make sure and it didn't work it actually made it worse. I have not had weight gain other than healthy weight fluxuation. I've been pretty sick for the pas 6-8 months not sure what it is but I have severe pains in my lower abdomen not sure if they are related... can anyone help me out because mine seem to be caused from something totally different...

Well, my problem is in my cleavage. I have tan skin and the mark is dark brown. And it literally looks like stretch mark but dark and then there are brown dots leading down from it towards the breasts. It happened last winter. I think it was an irritation from a certain bra I bought. So I stopped wearing it. However, it doesn't look like it has gotten any better. I thought it was a scar so I have been using bio oil on it. But nothing happened. So I probably should go to a doctor sometime soon. I really hate it. And makes me feel awful about myself. Ugh

I went to my dermatologist for this issue... Also have it on the back of my neck.. Its called Acanthosis nigricans.. Google images of that and if it looks the same as urs see a dermatologist.. If u are overweight losing weight is a sure cure for it... If ur underweight it could be drug induced from medication and what not.. Or hereditary..

I think it is some sort of fungus because I started with a scalp problem, but drs all say no.
